Chippy Nails

I love the look gel polish has on nails, the way it stays shiny like your nails have just been painted, i have had shellac a few times and found it to look soo great on my toes, I found on my fingers though they would always chip within five days which for me is pretty good as with normal polish I usually chip the same day as painting!! So that being said I was so excited to see this product in the pharmacy I go to, I purchased a soft pink number 100, I found it really easy to apply even though the brush was wider than other nail polishes, I found it lasted on my nails for about four days before it started chipping, which for me is good.. I got two for $24 on a deal, I think I will go buy another couple colours while this deal is on.. I wouldn't purchase at full price.

I would recommend and will use again even though the product didn't last as long as it said it would, I do feel it is more peoples different nails and how they treat there hands, which makes a product last or not.

I found the colour I picked to be such a girly pink and looks really natural in different lights, it is like a candy floss pink and I just love it :)

Tips: Run the nail brush over the tip of your nail to try and help the polish last longer

Super glossy nails

I religiously paint my nails, using mainly OPI polishes. But I've recently been getting irritated with having to repaint my nails every 3 or so days due to chipping so I thought I would give the Revlon Gel Envy a try as it was supposed to last longer.

I bought three colours and the diamond top coat. The colours are great, I love the range. The polish itself was easy to put on, although not quite as good as OPI. It doesn't last as long as it says on the ad, but it does last longer than standard polish. My first application lasted 5 days no chips, and my second lasted 4 days no chips.

Worth a try

These Revlon Gels came out o special so I thought I would give them a try. With clean and dry nails I set to. You dont need a base coat as it is in the colour. I did 2 colour coats which I found went on easily and smoothly. I let it dry for about 20 mins between coats and then applied the top coat. The result was a "salon" look finish. I was very happy with the result. Now the test of time. I work full time in a retail environment so I have hard working hands. I found the gel llasted abut 1 week which is better than an enamel . I am yet to find a gel that can go the distance of 2 weeks but with this Revlon gel, I was reasonably happy. I would use it again.

Tips: You can apply another top coat a few days later to freshen up the shine.

Doesn't last as long as I thought it would

As a girl that doesn't like to do their nails often enough, when I first found this product I assumed that it was going to be very sturdy and last for a decent amount of time. I usually found that even after a day or so that my polish would chip and I would have to redo the nail. This became a tedious process and so I would often take the whole lot off and start again. It is possible I may not have been applying it correctly, but being nail polish and not gel polish I assume it is applied just like any other nail polish

The best in their range

I have a nail polish issue, I can’t get enough of them! (Toes not fingernails) But in the past I have been drawn in by Revlon and found them not as solid as other brands. All that has changed, these little bottles have a mighty punch, the colour still looks shiny and new after two weeks, without rub marks or chips. The brush it quite small which I’ve grown to appreciate as you can get better lines, and the handle is a better length - trivial things to some I’m sure, but important if you don’t have the steady hand of a calligraphist. It also comes off without staining or too much effort when you get the remover out - a big plus as no one needs to see the last colour peeking from underneath

Gel Envy

No need for a base coat, just apply two coats on to clean dry nails then apply the specially formulated Gel Envy Top coat and your ready to rock. Apart from shellac nails, nothing stays on my nails for more than two days before the chipping begins but this formulation has lasted on me for a maximum of five days although it claims it stays on for eleven. I guess it depends on the physical aspects of what you do with your hands on a daily basis. The matte cream colours ( I own four colours now) are very creamy and deep pigmented. The brush applies the enamel evenly and easily. Fairly quick drying and the top coat gives it a beautiful glossy finish. Very easy to remove with ordinary nail polish remover except you have to rub and persist a little longer with the glittery colours because as with all glitter nail enamels that is their nature. Smells like most nail polishes. I found my nail beds were very dry upon removing the enamel, I just compensated by using a treatment like Hydranail by Manicare. This is my new nail polish range and so loving the colours Revlon has put out. Once, I used the Wild Card (matte finish) then I applied The Sky's The Limit (shimmer finish) on top, the outcome was amazing.

Tips: It's pointless just buying the nail colour without the top coat and that means having to spend up to $40 on your first buy. The specials at the pharmacies are $24 for two till the end of the month.

Thanks for a great, detailed review. I've been thinking about giving this one a go and letting my nails have a break from real gel, but now I'm not so sure on reading how it doesn't last very long. You've been very helpful!

Obsessed!

I'm a total nail polish freak and tried them all. And Revlon Envy Gel nail polishes are my new obsession. The bottle says it lasts chip free for 14 days which sounded like a dream come true. So I went and bought a couple of colours to try.

It says to let them dry in natural UV light so I applied during the day first. It was smooth to put on and it dried quite quickly. The colours are true and covering even with one coat. Top coat applied and off I went to inspect my nails everyday. I work in an office and have to type a lot, at home I cook and clean. And my verdict - i lasted and lasted chip free for 7 days. Not 14 days as promised but 7 days are pretty amazing if you ask me.

They were also easy to remove with normal nail polish remover.

Next I applied it in the evening with no natural UV light around. The only difference I noticed was that it took a little longer to dry but that's the only difference for me. All colours worked really well - if dark or light.

Money well spend for any obsessed nail polish user like me!

Tips: Make sure to cover the all nail polish with the top coat.

Loving these

I've bought five of these since Christmas so I am clearly loving them. I have Wild Card, Full House, Winning Streak, High Stakes and Checkmate as well as the top coat. My favourite colour so far would have to be Wild Card which is a really vibrant colbalt blue. It has something else to it though which makes it look like no blue I've ever seen before.

The application is easy! Apply two coats of colour and then the top coat. I find that I could get away with one coat of colour but two make it that much more vivid and amazing. The polish dries relatively fast although you do need to be careful with denting. Sometimes it feels dry to the touch but it can still dent so definitely give yourself ample time when using.

What I love about these polishes is that there is no need for the UV lamp. I find that a UV lamp feels like it is burning my fingers so I don't look forward to using gel polish. But with this polish, problem solved. Gel polish with no burning.

In order to get a streak free and shiny finish, it's good to experiment with how much product you apply at once. I find that if you apply too little, it gets streaky and doesn't look as nice when finished (even with two coats) so typically I apply a little more than I usually would with a normal polish.

I can't find anything to say how long the polish is supposed to last but it does say it is long wearing. I would consider this polish to be long wearing. I found that I wore this for 4-5 days with it still looking good (minimal fading at the fingertips) and probably could have stretched it out to another couple of days.

That smell.....

Ok how bad is this I wasn't even aware Revlon did gel polishes until I scored a free top coat from shopping online at farmers.

The round bottle is nice to hold with a a long brush handle, the bristles on the brush are long but standard, it's not a flat brush and no rounded corners.

This has a weird scent, yes weird! It's not the typical nail polish smell it's almost like a burnt plastic smell, it lasted for 2 days before it disappeared.

I applied 1 coat of this to freshly painted nails and it dried within a couple of minutes. It was easy to apply and the end result was smooth shiny nails.

My nails stayed shiny and I had no chipping or wear for 5 days, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't want to like this because I have my old faithful that I love, and this comes fairly close to my favourite But well....that horrid scent..... I now want to try some of the colours, to see if they are as good as the top coat.

Beautiful shine

I use to get my nails done on a regular basis with gel polish but have since found this hard with 3 young children so I decided to try the Revlon Gel Envy. The range of colours are fantastic and quite good value at around $20 each including the top coat. The colour doesn't last as long as professional gel nails but does last a bit longer than regular polish and it has a great gel-like shine. One coat gives a thick, good coverage but I do still prefer to do 2 before the top coat. What I like most is that I can get a gel-like polish without having to use a uv light which I do question it's safety of continued use so I like using this at home alternative.
