Amazing!

Wow what an amazing nail polish! The new and improved Essie nail Polish, I found to be quick drying as well as it didn't have that awful smell that a nail polish usually does! The colour itself is a beautiful baby pink colour, I did find that I had to put on like 3 coats so that it actually looked nice and not too patchy. The brush is amazing with the rounded end and made applying the nail polish fuss free.

Tips: I would put on a top coat after the polish just to help the nail polish from chipping so much as I had a problem with this when no top coat was used.

Gorgeous

This essie bikini so teeny nail polish is the cutest colour! It's a bright pastel colour that looks lovely on nails! Nothing like I've seen before. Usually light colours, for me need more than one coat but this one is so opaque on the first coat, leaving no streaks when it dries (it dries pretty quickly too!) the more you layer it the stronger the colour and shimmer comes out, it's a lovely shuttle shimmer, nothing too obnoxious :) for me it tends to stay on better with a base coat, it stays on well for a good amount of days without it, but when it begins to chip, the rests of the nail polish just peels off. Love this colour, it's definitely a favourite! Lastly, the packaging is great, simple in a cute, square glass bottle unlike most, with the name on the lid (very helpful when it's in your draw!) Would definitely love to try some more from their amazing colour range!

Tips: Using a base coat makes the colour stand out and prevent it from peeling when it begins to chip

Essie is it enough?

Essie nail polish comes in a small glass bottle with a white top. It has a sticker on the handle that contains the ingredients and tells you a little about the product information. A circular white sticker on the top of the handle has the shade name. Made in France, this 13,5ml bottle has glass embossing on two sides of the bottle. The handle is 3cm the bottle is 4cm. For appearance I would give it a 5/5 it is an attractive and informative little package.

The brush is very wide and offered great coverage to the nail, two strokes covered the entire width of the nail. Whilst I did not seem to mind this a few friends who tried the nail polish found the brush too wide. One commented that had it been a fraction narrower you would perhaps get more even coverage. For the size of the brush and the length of the handle (3cm) I would give it a 3/5.

One coat was not enough to offer even coverage and I found that even after two coats I had break through patches - I did not find that I was able to get an even colour coverage. I was a little disappointed with this. For the coverage I would give it a 2/5.

The colour is amazing and I was offered plenty of compliments on the stunning shade of cornflower blue. My daughters said they thought it looked like a colour that had come from Frozen. So needless to say it is a hit with people of all ages. The colour would get a 5/5 from me. A firm new favourite of mine.

I have shorter nails at the moment - and found that the nail polish lasted just on 7 days. It did not chip or peel however it did wear off from the tip up. It left a good mm of nail exposed slowly over the week. For wear and tear I would offer is 3/5.

The price is a little expensive and disappointing at $22.99 so for this I would give it a 2/5 I love finding a bargain and don't feel that for the price and results that this is one of those miracle, bargain, must have polishes.

Over all this is an average polish but an amazing colour. If I found a cheaper product in the same colour I would be tempted to try that - although a cheaper product you risk worse results. If I was gifted this product I would gratefully except and enjoy using it but I wouldn't rush out to purchase this make again unless it was on sale.

Again the colour made this nail polish for me.

Tips: Keep your nail polish in a cool spot (even the fridge) to avoid it becoming thick and gluggy.

Fantastic review. I've never tried an Essie polish before and love this colour but it seems really expensive.

Natural French Manicure Look

I don't wear nude natural looking shades like this on a regular basis, but, after hearing about this polish and how gorgeous it was I had to step out of my routine and give it a try.

I found the formula of this polish was good and easy to apply. It is a sheerer polish than what I am used to, but, that is the look it is made for I believe. I still use 3 coats to get the look I desire though. To me it gives the look of french manicured nails without the white tip (although you could easy add that). It dries in normal time and lasts me a couple of days before a chip occurs...but, I have weak nails and am not exactly kind to my hands (always doing dishes, washing, picking things etc). The formula is nice and not gluggy or difficult to work with so if this sort of shade is up your alley I would recommend it.

I ended up passing this onto a friend as I didn't wear it enough, but, I did like the shade it just wasn't a favourite.

Tips: Apply a base coat and top coat for an increased wear time.

Wow Meh

I had to get a few Essie nail polishes to see for myself if they're worth the hype and to me personally no they aren't although I can understand why other people like them so much. Essie has the best, most varied color range i've ever seen along with OPI, (these two brands tend to be compared I wouldn't say that one is better than the other in my opinion they are on a par.) There's something about the colors and finish of Essie polishes that emit an aura of high quality, it's as if every color is carefully crafted as opposed to some cheaper nail polish brands where the colors can be lack lustre or plain cheap looking. The packaging is understatedly stylish, a convenient size for storage and they look neat, tidy and pretty when there's a bunch of them lined up.

The formula is a nice workable consistencey maybe just slightly on the denser side and can get a bit streaky upon application, however it seems to level itself out upon drying and finish up even, solid, and very tidy looking. The applicator brush is standard and average well and good, works well but there's nothing special about it. The drying time for Essie polishes is also average and standard, around about 5 minutes per coat give or take a few depending on climate. Wear- wise average again, 2-3 days I get out of an application with a base coat, 2 coats of Essie and a top coat.

While there are some big pros for Essie nail polish for me there are equally as many meh's so there is no way I would consider paying full retail for these. I would buy these again if I came across on sale, probably wouldn't pay any more than $10 though.

Tips: Essie magnetic snake skin polishes, now these are special! Same deal as with the regular ones but the snake skin effect is very very cool.

The Main Divide

I have only recently jumped on the Essie train and I have to admit their colours are gorgeous. I like the brush, it applies smoothly and the coverage is great (two coats for decent pigmentation or one coat for sheer).

The lasting power if this polish is on par with some of the other leaders in the market but without careful attention it does chip after only two days.

the shine doesn't last very long either which is a bit disappointing however easily remedied by a good top coat.

No staining of the nail beds with the darker colours either. My Favorite at the moment is Sexy Divide a deep true purple.

I only have a small amount of Essie bottles in my collection but would love to add more in the future.

Tips: A fresh top coat every other day to prolong wear-ability, two coats for decent coverage

Great color range, especially paler shades

I must admit I am more of an OPI girl, though I do have a couple of Essie polishes. I like their new bottle design - it's very minimal and the square shape makes them easy to store. The two I have are the old bottle design, where the Essie logo was ridged into the glass, which I also like. This older design bottles are quite weighty and feel like good quality.

I find application to be easy, though I prefer the wider curved brush of some other brands. I tend to do two coats for the shades I have, and follow with a top coat. Wear time varies for me and I tend to remove the polish after three days. I am very hard on my nails however.

The two shades I have are Haute as Hello, a gorgeous pastel coral which makes your skin look more tanned, and Vermillionaire, a bright orangey colour. In summer I like wearing Vermillionaire on my toes and Haute as Hello on my fingers.

These polishes are both from a summer 2010 collection (eeep) and have only recently started to become gluggy. I have used both of them past the halfway mark as the colours are so great.

I have been eyeing up some more shades as I find their range to be really good, especially of paler shades where OPI can be lacking.

Colour me pretty

All through my high school and teenage years, the best nail polish was always OPI.. it was almost the cool thing to have. It was pricey which meant it had to be good quality right, and it does have an awesome range of colours, I can agree on the aspect. So for the past 5 years, I really hadn’t considered looking into other brands of nail polishes until I was gifted an Essie nail polish set for my birthday.

The set came with three colours, and the nail polishes were almost ‘mini’ size, with the bottles being about half the width of a regular Essie Nail Polish. These nail polishes are packaged in see-through glass so you can see the colour within the bottle, and they come with a white lid, which of course has the brush attached on the inside. The bottles still has the Essie print in the glass, as well as the Essie print on the glass with white text.

There are two main things that I love about these nail polishes. Firstly, I love the design on the bottles. There so simple, and understated yet really classy so I love placing this somewhere in my room where their beauty can shine. Secondly, there is such an amazing range of Essie Nail polishes available. Literally, you can get every colour, and pretty much every shade, tone & hue that you could think of. Thirdly, I love the brush that the Essie nail polishes come with. In fact, I’m not sure if the brushes vary from the mini bottles to the larger bottles (although I now own both), but as I have been using the mini bottles more frequently, I’m more aware of the brush shape which is perfect. It glides over nails perfectly, and is the right shape to get up nice and close to my cuticles, and evenly coat my nails. This, of course has something to do with the lovely consistency of Essie Nail polishes. They are a bit thinner than OPI, and two coats and essential, not optional to achieve that opaque look. However, its so easy to apply two thin coats, and the coats dry really fast so I’m pretty happy with that. One downside is I find these chip faster than I expected. They last about 2 days before looking crap, and that includes using a top coat so that is one downside.

I said there were two main things I liked about Essie, but that turned into 4 things. Whoops. All in all, I really do like Essie nail polishes and find them more affordable than OPI. I have already purchased some more colours for the Essie range and now own 7 of their colours, and I’m sure that number will be increasingly steadily as well.

DEEP ARUBA

I think essie is a good brand but i didn't like how clumpy my polish got after the first few uses. maybe i didn't keep it in the right temp or something but deffinately didn't have a long shelf life for me. The color on the other hand is right up my alley. a nice blue but at the same time a bit shiny!

Love & Hate

I've been a user of essie forever it seems like! I love all the colors, and the sleek, shiny look that it has when it is painted on. My main dislike with essie is that it chips very easily. Many nail polishes do, however I wasn't expecting that with essie saying that it is a high end brand, and more expensive than the average nail polish. It's a love, and hate relationship that I have with essie.

Tips: If you don't mind painting your nails every 2 days, then go for it. Put lots of clear on top, so that it lasts at least a few days!
