Cheap way to try a matte lip

Bare It all is my fave shade in this line that I have tried so far - a peachy warm toned flesh toned nude which looks super chic. I also have tried Pink Suga which was a disaster on me - totally neon yellow based peach with not a trace of pink whatsoever. I also have Cherry bomb which is a deep vampy black cherry red and Cinnamon spice - a deep vampy brick red (very good neutral red). These are lovely shades and I cannot fault the shades or formula other than that they are a tad drying but so are matte lipsticks. The only concern I have which makes these a 3/5 for me is how often I have problems with these sticking to my teeth - I am constantly on the lookout to make sure this doesn't happen. Bare it all seems to be the worst offender but the deeper shades are still of concern and I am always worried about this issue when wearing them. Overall I personally would rather buy more expensive matte lipsticks which hold up better, but these are great value and a great way to try new shades in a matte formula.

Tips: Very matte and prone to sticking to teeth - so make sure to exfoliate and lightly moisturise before applying and also remove any remains from inside the lip to avoid dreaded lipstick on the teeth.

IMO Best lipsticks out

I love love love these lipsticks! I almost own them all and i love every color! They are so opaque and pigmented and last for hours! I never use a lip liner and never have any trouble with color bleeding. They are more of a matte lipstick so if you suffer from dry lips you may not love these so much. They are always my go to lipsticks and I wear them almost everyday! I could not rave about these enough. And so cheap!

Fabulous colour but very dry

I have this lipstick in Pinkerbell. The colour is densely pigmented and fabulous! Pinkerbell is Wet n Wild's version of MAC's VIVA GLAM Nicki Lipstick and the colour is very close. As for the formula, it's very, very dry. My lips get dried out and flaky really quickly in this and I can't wear it alone, although the colour does leave a nice tint that lasts ages. I only paid $6.99 for mine so I can't complain and I still love the colour when used with other products but I wouldn't re-purchase.

Tips: This can be fab used on smooth lips if you use a lipbalm first and then a moisturising gloss over top.

Probably my most fave lippy ever!

I love these lipsticks so much. I have 3 different shades. Just Peachy, a beautiful nude peachy/pink colour. I've heard this is also a great dupe for Limecrime's Babette. Dollhouse pink is a bright pink color, a cool toned pink (I think anyway!). I bought this after reading that it was a dupe for Lime Crime's Great pink Planet. I have that lipstick as well and have to say that it really is a great match! The other colour I have is Pinkerbell, a bright pink also but more of a hot pink colour with maybe a slight coral hint to it.

I love how these last on my lips. It wears evenly when I'm eating and drinking and doesn't leave an ugly ring outside of my lips. The colour payoff is intense, they are very opaque and quite true to what it looks like in the tube. They are slightly drying but not too bad.

The packaging isn't the fanciest, it's a very basic black tube with a clear lid. This does make it easy to instantly see what colour lipstick it is though and the lids fit snugly so they don't fall off in your handbag etc.

I buy mine off Beauty Joint, they work out to be just under $4 each so a real bargain. I've misplaced my peach one but because it's so cheap it doesn't bother me to have to buy a new one although I'm sure it's lurking in my house somewhere! I totally recommend these lipsticks especially if you want great colour without breaking the bank!

Stunning colours but unforgiving

I bought two of these lippies online after hearing great things about them and wanting to add some different shades of colour into my lippy collection.

I have this in 'Dollhouse Pink', which is a super bold and bright candy pink, and 'Purty Persimmon' which is a reddy orange shade unlike any I currently have that looks great with a tan.

The packaging is pretty cheap but with such a cheap price point it isn't suprising. I found the plastic lid doesn't stay on that securely so something to watch when you pop it in your bag for touch-ups.

The colours are sooo bold and pigmented and I was really excited when I felt how creamy they applied to my lips. Unfortunately I found these lippies were incredibly unforgiving to any lip imperfections. You really need to ensure your lips are in great condition otherwise they highlight any dry skin, sinking into lip lines and flaking.

In terms of lastability, I do find they last a few hours on your lips although you do get that wearing off of colour in the centre with eating or drinking, so I would suggest reapplying afterwards.

For the price I probably would purchase this in other colours but would only apply them when I was planning on wearing them for a short period of time where I could reapply to keep the colour fresh.

Tips: Make sure your lips are in good condition as these can be drying. Exfolliate first and apply a lip balm, wait for it to sink in, then apply the lip colour for best results.

24 Carrot Gold

Not a bad lipstick for the price. I bought the 24 Carrot Gold because i was dying to try an orange lipstick but didnt want to spend a fortune in case it looked terrible with my skin tone. Not a bad lipstickm but as everyone has said is quite dry, but for the price it does last quite well and the colour was great on me a bit more corally then neon orange.

Tips: I would definatel give the lips a little scrub with a toothbrush and apply a tiny bit of lipgloss underneath lipstick glides on smoother and stops the lips drying out.

Holy Grail Lipstick

I have this lipstick in 9 different shades & all of them are phenomenal. I purchased mine from beautyjoint.com ($3.30 each NZ$!)

Cherry Picking - Dupe for MAC Love Goddess. This is my favourite of all the shades I have & it is AMAZING. It's a deep berry red & it is so flattering on my skin tone (pale with neutral undertones)

Sugar Plum Fairy - Dupe for MAC Rebel This is a deep plum/berry shade that comes off on a bare lip as almost a dark purple. I love this shade for a night out and it pairs well will a light smokey eye. Beautiful!

Cherry Bomb - Dupe for MAC Diva This is a very dark & intense brown/plum shade, beautiful with flawless foundation & natural eye make up. Would look really nice with a white top/dress.

Don't Blink Pink This is a medium blue toned pink. It's very very bright yet it's not neon. Perfect for summer or when you want a "pop" of colour.

Purty Persimmon - Dupe for Mac Sail La Vie This is a coral red/orange shade that is simply gorgeous! It is the perfect shade for a sailor inspired look (think navy, white & red).

Smokin' Hot Pink This is my favourite "everyday" shade. It's a medium cool toned pink that isn't too bright and isn't too dark. It goes well with every style of make up & matches all of my outfits. The perfect pink!

Red Velvet - Dupe for MAC Russian Red This is a warm, bright "cherry red" yet it is blue based & would flatter many different skin tones, a great classic bright red shade.

Coral-ine This is a rich red/orange tone, I've only worn this colour once but it's very pretty, I need to use it more often and step out of my red/plum comfort zone!

Think Pink - Dupe for MAC Creme Cup This is the only shade that I don't use, it doesn't suit me & makes me look washed out. It's a gorgeous pale creamy pink that would be perfect for those who love a "nude pink" lip.

I plan on buying all the remaining shades of these lipsticks at some stage soon as I really cannot get enough! The formula is beautiful & very long lasting & the colours are simply perfect. So in love!

Tips: Always use a lip liner to prevent bleeding as these are very opaque & creamy

Pigment Plus!

I bought this as part of a 25% off promotion at Farmers. I wanted to experiment with red, as I've always been a bit more subtle with my lipcolour, so a few dollars was a small price to pay to try it out! The colour I bought was called 'Stoplight Red' and I almost passed it by because the sample sticker was more a rusty brown colour. The lipstick itself however, is a really strong red with blue undertones, perfect for my olive skin, (orange-reds look terrible on me). Its the ugliest packaging, and I'm used to lip colour that paints on, so it was a bit hard to apply at first. But once it's on, wow. The colour is so strong and pigmented, and it really does stay very well for hours. A great buy if you're wanting to experiment with colour and have very little money!

Tips: Use a lipbrush. I also used a lip primer to help the colour stay on longer.
