I tried a shade some months ago at my friend's place and liked it so much that I bought one shade for myself of Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon. It glides very well and stays well too. All shades are so beautiful. It is pocket friendly too and easily available in the stores and pharmacies.

Tips: I like mix and match with different glosses to do some creativity in shades and it turns out to be good.
I was already a convert of the Superstay Ink Crayons when I received this trial, so it was with pleasure that I was accepted. This crayon is called 'Make it happen' and is a deep plum red. It's somewhat bright for my tastes and relevant events, but it's a good warm shade of red. I've called it a plum red because there is an undertone of deep berry or magenta, rather than ruby red or orange red. It's pretty much the same colour as the tube. I have tried a number of red lipsticks in this type of shade, trying to find one that doesn't bleed. This one did not bleed and stays put quite well but needs to be touched up after warm food. The sharp end helps to get a crisp line, which is very important on a high maintenance shade of red like this one. The sharpener on the end of the tube will come in handy for that reason. I have another colour where the shade is more of a nude shade, so I probably won't need the sharpener on that one. It's more of a bonus than essential for some shades.
Stickability? It's not as long lasting as the Matte Lip Ink, which is the older cousin product, but it makes up for it in creaminess, range of colours, and the easy application. I will be phasing out my matte lip inks and getting these instead. They are infinitely more useable, and great for lips that aren't so plump anymore, as the thin tube lets you get into all the cracks and crevices!
How to get the stuff off - I used a waterproof makeup remover as that is all I had in the house at the time, but I suspect most removers will be successful. There was a dark pink stain on my lips when I took it off, but it faded quickly.
I have not found this product to dry out my lips so far - I haven't had time to try this shade out over a full day duration, but my other shade can be worn multiple days in row with no ill effect to my skin.
All in all I recommend these and will be buying more.
Tips: If you didn't like Matte Lip Ink, try one of these, you might be pleasantly surprised.
I got this in the last beauty vault. Thanks BR! I got the shade 40 Laugh Louder which is an orangey/red colour. Definitely not something I would pick out for myself.
I have quite pale skin and it really did not suit my complexion very well. I liked how there was a hidden sharpener on the end! The colour is so pigmented, it is super smooth to apply and glides on with ease. I have to prep my lips very well with this as it makes them feel very dry.
It takes a wee while to dry down completely. It definitely does not last for 8 hours, after 2 hours it started looking really patchy on me and sinking into my lip lines. When it wore away my lips had a stain on them, I had to scrub so hard to get it off!
Overall this is not a lippie that I liked and I will give it to someone that likes the colour.
I really liked this lip crayon it is super creamy, feels amazing on and i love the fact the sharpener is built in. It goes the distance during the day and the colour stays well, if u want to shine things up just add a little gloss over top. I would highly reccomend giving this product a go. Only thing I did notice that might be a slight negative is the dark colours stain the lips a bit even after using a makeup remover.
Tips: Keep it nice and sharp to get precise lines
These Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayons are a favourite of mine - I have 4 colours in total. They're nice and compact so slide easily into the handbag.
Application is so easy - use the point of the crayon to line and then simply fill lips with the crayon colour. It glides on so easily, and doesn't bleed. It has reasonable staying powder - I apply a couple of times a day out of habit but generally lasts the morning before re-applying. I love the little sharpener that is screwed into the other end - it's quick and easy to sharpen the crayon to a point if you like to line the lips carefully before applying lippy. I tend to let mine go rounded/blunt to make it easy to apply lippy on the go. Application is so easy that I even managed to master the bright red lippy look without over-doing it! I love them.
Removal - it needs a makeup remover/cleanser of some sort to completely remove it. I tend to find micellar water a good remover for this lip crayon.
I love these crayons. Have become a bit of a collector of them, and will continue using them now they're a favourite
Tips: By 2 get 1 free is a great promo to gather a collection of shades for all occasions.
This is one of the best long lasting lip colours I have used. I applied like a lip liner then filled in using the side angle of the crayon, and it gave a nice even coverage without being thick and greasy. The colour lasted most of the day even after several cups of coffee and eating lunch, without the need to keep reapplying or checking my teeth for transfer. I liked the sharpener in the end, but ended up using the tip of my nail to make a new point to line the colour, as I hate waste and the sharpener does take off at least another application each time you use it. Having a good secure lid was also a plus, as it doesn’t come loose in the bottom of my handbag, and was easy to find grabbing around blindly due to the shape being bigger than a pen like some of the other long lasting products I have that are similar. It doesn’t have any funny taste or aroma, and isn’t tacky or overly sticky, so long hair doesn’t get caught up in it like alternatives that have a two step system.
I will definitely purchase this in another colour.
Did Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon in shade #55 Make it Happen, happen? Sort of. Let’s talk about the packaging first. It comes in a nice long tube making it easy to store and carry in a makeup purse. It has a removable built in sharpener at one end and the twist up crayon at the other, and is all very simple to use. Dark red lipsticks however, as this one is, can be tricky to apply, and in my mind, this particular product colour works better as a lip stain than an actual lipstick. This is because the crayon is very creamy and applies in a blotchy fashion, which in part, might also be due to the current heat and humidity. The ‘top layer’ does transfer onto cups and glasses but once gone, what remains is long lasting, although not 8 hours of long lasting, and as already mentioned, looks like a lip stain rather than a lipstick. It is also tricky to get a precise outline of the lip shape due to the crayon shape of the product. Overall, I guess it happened, it lasted, just not as long as suggested by Maybelline!
Tips: If you blot with tissue once applying, this particular shade works really well as a lip stain and lasts longer.
I recently tried the Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon in the colour red and was pretty impressed! The colour is super bright and it is so easy to apply as rather than your typical thick lipstick it comes quite thin with a precise tip.
I did find after eating and drinking it would slightly come off so I would suggest if you are looking for a longwearing lipstick that doesn’t budge at all I wouldn’t recommend this one. Apart from that I cannot flaw it! I’m looking forward to trying the more nude colours.
Tips: Use a lip liner as a base on your lips for longer wearing lipstick
This colour was not my shade unfortunately however the product itself is very long lasting, it almost gives a subtle stain long after the lipstick had worn off. It also has a handy sharpener in the end which makes it easy to use even without lip liner so is great as a 2 in 1. It does not bleed and glides on really nice and smoothly. I have already purchased in a nude tone I liked the formula so much. Nice and slim pencil fits in my handbag with ease so is great for on the run use.
Tips: Get a sharp point with the built in sharpener!
I love this lip crayon! Lip crayons are typically my favourite type of lip product, they’re so easy to apply and feel nicer on my lips as they’re moisturising but also doesn’t move around and get everywhere during the day compared to lipsticks. I also like that with lip crayons you can decide how much pigment you want on your lips through the way you apply by either dabbing it on and smoothing it out or applying it straight on. I also love that you can use lip balm with this as well as I get really dry lips and this almost turns into a tint. I will say that you need to have some what smooth lips otherwise the lip colour will show up kinda patchy. It doesn’t have any scent which is nice and the packaging is slim so it’s so easy to chuck in a bag and take with you in the go if you need to reapply
