These are a good price and have a great texture however they are a little drying being matte as you may expect and the scent is lovely like slightly vanilla scented. These have a habit of clinging to my teeth which I am always paranoid about. I also wish there were more shades the reds are lovely but a blackened not so purple wine would be great as would a true nude. The nude shade is incredibly orange and unflattering on me. Worth a try if you want any easy to apply no liner required matte lip look.

I have this in the coral shade. On first application I was not so impressed- this clung to my super dry lips and was so neon coral it was a bit scary! After a good lip scrub this was much nicer- really easy to apply and nice and creamy. This dries down to a matte but was not drying like I have come to expect from matte lip colours. I did kind of expect that this would hold up really well on my lips but this transferred much like any other regular lipstick. I did find that it wore off quite unevenly while eating/drinking so I would probably not wear this to go out to dinner in!
This is such a great price, have my eye on quite a few more of their shades!
Very pigmented, matte finish So affordable Easy to apply Glides on your lips I found it easier to apply as it is a lip pencil. It is very creamy and quite hydrating. The only let down is you have to buy a sharpener to go with it.
My awesome friend (BR girl kknz) gave me this as part of my birthday present, thinking I'd love it. She was 100% correct. I have this in shade 150: Fuchsia Desire.
The Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils are a very unique product. They are bang on trend with two HUGE current fashions in lip-makeup; brights and matte. They also feature a very appealing pencil format, which is sharpen-able, and a crazy-cheap pricetag alongside Maybelline quality.
Fuchsia Desire is a bright, vibrant pink. It's intensely pigmented and very easy to apply and wear. I find that it lasts amazingly well - and is able to be reapplied without a mirror for me, which is a huge bonus. I've been wearing it to work a lot (I am a teacher) because of this. It even made its way onto my face for a recent internet documentary I was in haha.
This product applies 'creamily' but dries matte, and is very pigmented, staying bright and sticking to lips for hours. It transfers to what it touches, but just from the outer layers, leaving plenty on lips. Being a pencil format it is easy to get the shape right, and avoid bleeding.
I want this in other shades! It's exceptional; check it out
The Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils are quite possibly going to be my favourite lip product of 2015. At first I was a little confused as to what they are. A lip pencil? A lipstick? Do I wear this on its own, or do I apply a lipstick or lipgloss over top? The answer: you can do whatever you like with this little beauty. They are designed to be worn as a stand-alone lip product, creating a defined, bold lip that applies smoothly, leaving a velvet finish that can lean towards matte or creamy depending on whether you apply a balm underneath. I personally haven't come across anything like it. It gives more definition than a chubby stick, but is more bold and pigmented that a standard lip crayon. It's not a lipstick because of the obvious packaging difference, but it's also more than a lipliner.
After using these for a few months, I have decided that my favourite way to wear them is with a little bit of lipstick, or a Clarins Lip Perfecter over the top. This gives a bold, defined and long lasting lip combination. The colour selection is on point. The nudes are beautiful and there are bright pinks and bold reds that have serious wow impact. With a $10 price tag and available in supermarkets, this is an incredibly affordable and accessible product. Whether it's for an everyday lip colour, or an affordable way to try out a new shade, I 100% recommend slipping a Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil into your trolley.
Tips: Combine these with a matching lipstick.
These pencils had been non-stop raved about across ye old beauty community so I picked this pencil up in the colour Nude Perfection, because I'm mainstream like that. I loved the fact that they were so affordable! Huge perk.
When I first applied this product I loved the colour, which is that very 'on trend' brown-toned nude. The formula is ultra creamy so doesn't dry out the lips, impressively opaque, they smell delicious and leave a satin velvet finish on the lips (hence the name).
I was totally prepared for this pencil to become my staple lip product, but unfortunately it didn't quite work out that way. Every time I used this product I would get that dreaded rim lining the inner rim of my lips, every time! I tried wearing it with a lip liner and on top of other lippys, but nothing could keep that unsightly rim at bay! I have since gifted it to a friend, who loves it, so it obviously works for people that aren't me, haha.
They are an adorable sized product, perfect for the purse as they really aren't much bigger than a lippy. But obviously you have to sharpen these, which you do need a larger sized sharpener for - something to keep in my mind! I do recommend giving them a go, because if they work for you, they're a fantastic investment!
Maybelline is one of my favourite drug store brands, 'the falsies' is one of my favourite mascaras and when this lippie made an appearance in a beauty box I purchased, I just couldn't wait to give it a go.
Firstly, the packaging is stylish, modern and a perfect compact size to fit in your bag. The black tube is elegant, emblazoned with white writing and teamed with the matching colour of the lipstick on the end. Such a stylish design.
My colour is 'light it up' a lovely vibrant red that does make you light up. It's a fun, beautiful colour that makes you feel cheerful wearing it. The colour is bright, perfect and stunning. It's definitely for the bold! I used to only wear subtle shades, but I now really have a love of red lipsticks - it's such a classic look.
My lips tend to be on the dry side, so with a matte lippie, like these I always make sure I use my elf lip exfoliator first, some balm and then apply this.
The lip pencil, reminds me of a smaller Clinique chubby stick (yet so much cheaper!). It's comfortable to hold and so easy for application. The formula is lovely and glides over your lips. The formula is nice and creamy to work with. The finish is matte, yet its more moisturising than other matte lip pencils i havr tried. I like its quite long lasting and seems to stay on for awhile, through eating and drinking.
I really think this lip pencil is great value for the price. It's quickly become one of the lipsticks I reach for the most. I'm so glad I tried this and can't wait to add more to my collection. Maybe a nude colour will be my next choice!
Tips: Give this a go, such a great product for an affordable price.
