Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner

When you think of a gel eyeliner , you think long lasting which it is. What it also is , is very dry and clumpy. It is not worth the hassle of getting it to work. For that price I am not impressed.

Great drugstore gel eyeliner

Love this eyeliner! great formula and doesn't budge at all. Easy to create thick and thin lines with the provided brush, and even fairly easy to create a sharp wing. great colour payoff also.

Tips: I found that if the product gets a bit dry that if you put a small amount in the cap and mix it with some fix+ it works great.

Slightly disappointed

The formula of the liner was slightly clumpy and the colour wasn't very dark. Therefore I found it slightly overpriced

Charcoal charbon.

Maybelline eyestudio gel liner is great drugstore product. Best for beginner and expert too. I got it from the werehouse when they had 25% skincare and cosmetice sale. It was cost me 15$ for 3g pot. I wanted to buy black one but by mistake I got charcoal charbon which did not want to. It is nice glass small pot with screw lid on. Gel liner comes with brush which is great for beginner or somebody don't want to spend money on brush.

Gel liner consistency is good but not great according to me. Product claims that it smodgeproof and waterproof for 24 hours, that not true at all. I put the liner 7 a.m and till 4 a.m all right after that liner start fading it without primer. If you accidentally use finger on liner its comes off easily. Gel goes smooth but however I am not great fan of gel consistency. Brush is good for wing liner if you expert for it. But I use my Murphe eyeliner brush for perfect winged eyeliner.

I want to try black one in the future.

Underwhelmed

I bought this a while ago and was very excited to use it. Sadly I was unimpressed; the formula easily became clumpy on the brush, even when wiping on the sides. It was okay to apply but I found that it was definitely not smudge proof and did not last the day. I was really looking forward to using this product and after giving it quite a few chances it now just sits in a drawer unused. Sorry but I personally do not recommend.

Okay

It's a good and dark product, but you need a very steady hand and concentration to apply the gel eyeliner

work in progress

Personally, not for me. I don't have a very steady hand at the best of times and it got a little messy - it's just me though as was referred by a friend to use this (who always has perfect winged liner!) My issue was my hooded lids, so maybe better suited to people without horrible eyelids like mine :(

Blackest Black - doesn't dull at all

It's hard for me to find eyeliners (gel / cream / crayon) that work well for my hooded oily lids. I'm happy to say that I really love this product and it's almost as good if not just as good as my ultimate favourite Jane Iredale Jelly Jar Gel Liner.

I have the shade Blackest Black which I bought from Beauty Bliss for $20.00 - a bit steep some may say but if you think about high end ones like Jane Iredale you're looking at $40 so I'm not complaining about the price point. Admittedly I didn't have high expectations for this but was surprised to find that the gel goes on a lovely inky black and dries down to a semi matte black without losing the lovely rich colour.

It applies on smoothly and gives you enough time to correct mistakes before setting. I really love that the product moves wherever my brush directs it to move so I'm not left trying to drag and tug at it my already droopy eyes! The product is waterproof and smudge proof and I often find it difficult to remove if I'm not using (the best ever) my Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup remover.

My only small con with this product is that there is still some transfer. With hooded lids the excess skin loves to hide all my artwork (i.e. often failed attempt at smokey or halo eyeshadow) and it tends to touch my gel liner. This product leaves a very faint mark just above my crease - which in comparison to other eyeliners I've used, is nothing. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable gel liner with fantastic colour payoff that doesn't dull or move once in place.

Tips: I use the Jane Iredale liner brush to stencil an outline (wipe off excess) and then go in with a Sigma E65 eyeliner brush to pack on the colour.

for a silky smooth look - you want this product

liquid eyeliners make me tear up when applying them so I love a good gel eyeliner , this one stays on till you take it off , barely smudges and is tearproof ! I swear by this for a smooth silky look in eyeliners

Tips: works best if you dip the brush in Hot water before you draw your line , makes it evenly smooth and a silky look
