Very sturdy chip resistant false nails!

For my Teddy lane nail trial I choose the shade Kristin from the classic collection. This is a lovely nudey/pink shade which is a prefect shade for everyday wear.

On opening the nails my first impressions were how lovely and natural they look unlike other false nails I have seen before (obviously this depends on which collection you go for). They feel very smooth to touch and have a lovely glossy finish.

What is fantastic about this brand of nails is that they have so many different collections and choices within each range. I have very short nails so didn’t want them too long in length. The ones I chose were prefect as they were medium in length. Everything needed apart from a cuticle stick is include in the pack which includes 24 nails in 12 different sizes, a nail file and glue and off course instructions.

I did find that the application of the nails does require a bit of time. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to applying false nails so perhaps I would get faster and find it easier the more I did it. I definitely can’t stress enough how important it is to properly follow the instructions provided and to do good prep work of your own nails before hand. I was so excited when these arrived that I skip the step or using a cuticle stick to push back extra skin the first few times I apply the nails and found the result wasn’t as neat as the rest.

The only issue I had was finding the right size to fit my thumb and my little finger but the nails are easy enough to file down to size and this didn’t appear to affect the strength or quality of the false nails. The nail sizes are numbered on the back too so it easy to make sure you get the same size nail on each hand.

As I only wanted to wear them for a few days I followed the 1-3 day wear time instructions which meant only using a thin strip or a dot of glue in the centre of the nail. I was a bit concerned that they might not last the full 3 days using only a small dot of glue but the false nails felt very sturdy on once dried and didn’t chip during the 3 days. So I can definitely reuse them again.

When I went to remove my nails I soaked them in reasonably hot water for a good few minutes and then gently lifted the nails off using a cuticle stick. My natural nails didn’t look damaged or appear any more brittle from wearing them and the removal process of soaking in hot water is easy and did work.

I believe they are good quality as they look very natural and felt very sturdy on but I would probably only use them for special occasions as they would get expensive for every day use and they did take a bit of time to apply properly.

Tips: Wear dish gloves if doing dishes by hand as the hot water will loosen them.

Great Alternative To A Salon Manicure

I picked this out in the last vault opening as I didn't get on the trial. I don't usually use these types of nail products so thought i'd give it a go. I had the Barely Laced set (medium length, oval shape) Love the sleek white packaging. You can clearly see the nail design through the front panel. The set includes:24 reuseable nails (12 different nail sizes), glue, nail file and instructions. No cuticle pusher is included, you may need to have your own if you prefer to use these.

I really like the design of this nails. It took me longer than I thought it would to apply. 45 mins total. I found the glue being clear and the nails being pale pink, I couldn't really see where it was being applied. I also applied the glue to the middle of the nail. About 1mm form the base of the nail, 2mm from the tip. Doing this ensured that I didn't have excess glue when pressing the nail on.

I did follow the instructions for the 10 day wear. (There is also directions for 3 day wear if you plan to reuse nails) Day 1 of wear I had one nail come off but that may be because I didn't apply enough glue. Day 3 of wear I broke a nail vertically closing a car door. Day 4 I lost a nail at an appointment. I took them all off yesterday Day 8. Removal was easy and hardly any damage to my real nails.

I really like these nails. They come in a variety of designs and lengths. Would be great for a special event. Also cheaper than a salon manicure but will give salon look results. I did get compliments while wearing these. Also the nails didn't feel heavy or uncomfortable compared to when I get arcrylic nails.

I still prefer my nail polish strips as they are easier and faster for me to apply. However these are a great alternative. I have seen them on sale recently too. I would repurchase these for a special occasion but wouldn't recommend them for long wear, 3 days max.

Tips: Read instructions before you start. If unexperienced, allow upto an hour for application. Apply nails alternately so you don't have one hand done and struggle with the other hand (like I did)

Underwhelmed by Teddy Lane Nails

I was excited to be trialling these nails and actually squealed when they arrived, I chose Runway from the 9-5 Collection which was a sparkly pink colour (totally me!).

Although I have used fake nails before, I made sure to read the easy to follow instructions before applying. The first thing I noticed was the length of the nails as I was finding the right sizes for my fingers. It seems wasteful to have to cut so much off the nail to have them at a 'functioning' length. Alas I am not one of those Real Housewives of New Zealand who sip champagne at lunchtime and have servants to do all the work. I am an office manager so the bulk of my work day is administration.

The second thing I noticed was the ridiculously sharp points on them, who in their right mind would wear their nails filed so sharp? Toilet paper issues came to mind! Again it seemed wasteful to cut so much of the nail off.

Bearing in mind the instructions that warned against getting the glue wet for the first couple of hours after application, I applied the nails on Sunday night, hoping the glue would be bonded and set enough for my workday Monday. The nails were really easy to apply (I only stuck my fingers together once lol) and the different sizes in the pack made for easy fitting.

I went through my usual routine Monday morning getting ready for work, and after showering noticed that some of the pink colour on the nails had turned silver, almost as if it had rubbed off.

I also noticed after doing quite a bit of typing on Monday that two of the nails appeared to have started splitting, so I cut and filed them instead of removing them.

Tuesday morning in the shower I lost three nails while washing my hair. I refitted new nails while eating breakfast so it wasn't a big deal.

Wednesday I noticed all but two of the nails had distinct silver patches on them where the pink had rubbed off. I lost two nails while unloading the dishwasher and didn't bother reapplying them.

Thursday is today and in between showering, filing and making coffees today I have lost another six nails. Now I know the box says "lasts up to 10 days" but for the price Teddy Lane are asking for these nails, I would have thought they would last closer to the 10 days than this - it has been a disappointing trial this time round.

Tips: I wouldn't buy these nails for 'every day' use, but would recommend them for a special occasion where you aren't going to be putting any pressure on them and they're only needed to look nice for a few hours.

Teddy Lane - you have nailed it!

I selected the style Manhattan from the Glamour collection as part of this trial. I uploaded a picture to my profile if you’d like to see these nails in real life. This style consists of 14 plain pale pink nails, 6 rose gold glitter nails, and 4 white nails with a pink/rose gold “V” shape. This means you get a total of 24 nails per packet in 12 different sizes. Because of this you have plenty of chances to find a size that suits each of your nails. I thought this was a pretty decent selection considering (most) people generally have only 10 fingers in total.

The packet comes with the nails, a nail file, a 2g tube of glue, and some instructions. Before I started to apply the nails, I ensured they were clean and dry by rubbing a bit of nail polish remover over them. After that I matched the nail sizes to my finger nails. The nails are numbered at the tip, which makes it easy to find a matching pair once you know what size you need for each finger. All you need to do after that is apply glue to the back of the fake nail and then press them on. Overall it was a very easy process!

I applied a good amount of glue to each nail as I wanted to test how long they would last. They ended up lasting for 9 days before the first one fell off! It was very simple to remove the other nails. I just wiggled a nail under the one I wanted to remove and they easily popped off. My real nails weren’t damaged in the removal process which was great to see. The fake nails were also still in good condition and they weren’t damaged at all. I think I’ll be able to save the nails to wear another time, as I still have plenty of glue left.

I have received so many compliments while wearing these nails! Most people thought they were acrylics and were very surprised to hear they’re actually press-on ones.

I normally leave my nails bare as I can’t be bothered fussing around with them, but I have really enjoyed wearing these nails! I’m already thinking about buying another pair the next time I have a special event. Overall I would definitely recommend these nails!

Glamour collection: "Sangria"

I have not tried fake nails for the longest time. The last time was perhaps when I was a tween? I received a set of these nails in the BBBE “Discoveries” box, and I decided to give them a try over Christmas. The set I received was “Sangria” from Teddy Lane’s “Glamour Collection.”

Teddy Lane nails come in a black cardboard box bordered in silver. Inside each package are 24 nails, a nail file, and a 2g tube of nail glue. Instructions are posted on the back, but inside there is also a leaflet with a 5-step application process. I went about the application by firstly, choosing the nail size for each nail and hand, and then laying them out accordingly. The nail glue is easy to squeeze out of the tube. The glue is a contact adhesive, so the nails stick on fairly quickly. As a newbie to stick-on nails I found the instructions fairly easy to follow, and the whole application process to be stress free.

At first I was paranoid about the nails falling off right after I stuck them on, but these stuck really well, and were a lot tougher than I thought. The plastic they are made from is really hard, and none of the nails chipped. When they came off, they came off whole and intact. I even bent one by mistake and it was still fine and stayed on. I enjoyed wearing these. They looked super cool on, and everyone who saw them was impressed with the look, colours, and decorations on them.

As far as longevity goes, Teddy Lane nails claim to stay on for up to ten days’ wear. My first nail came off after two days, and the last one came off after ten days. So they are true to their word. These nails are reusable, so you can reapply them, or you can use the spares that come in the packet.

The only drawback to these is that they were very long. The “Sangria” design is in the shape “Stiletto” and are long in length according to Teddy Lane’s website. They are much longer in length than what my real nails would ever grow to, and the stiletto style actually curves over the finger, which makes typing difficult. So I found adjusting to the length quite hard. I suppose I could have cut, or filed them down, but I did not want to ruin the shape. I notice on Teddy Lane’s website that they have styles in a medium length instead, so I would be keen to try a shorter length in a more oval shape as I think these nails look very glamorous.

Altogether, I think these are a great option if you are looking to try false nails. They are durable, stay on well, and are very realistic. I plan to try more styles from the range.

Nails with a wow factor!

Omg what an amazing trial to be selected for! I had never heard of Teddy Lane Nails before and the last time I wore press on nails was in my teens. I selected Knight in Armour from the Chrome Collection and wow they are so beautiful and definitely got a lot of comments!

They come neatly packaged with glue a nail file and clear instructions. There are 24 nails all up and you simply select the size that fit your nails the best, I have quite petite nails so was a bit worried at first as the thumb ones were gigantic but after a bit of sorting through I found a set that pretty much fit perfectly.

I planned to wear these for 3 days as I didn't want to ruin them at work,  so as instructed I put the glue only down the centre. Application was simple and didn't take long.

Wow they looked amazing! I don't think I have used chrome polish before so these were definitely stand out nails. I liked how they didn't look super fake and you can file them for a more natural look.

On day 2 I had one fall off when I was getting ready in the morning,  I reglued it back on easily enough. Day 3 no more had fallen off, when I removed them they actually just popped off quite easily, maybe I didn't use enough glue I think, next time I would use more for sure so that was a fault of mine not the quality of the nails. There was no damage to my nails underneath at all.

I would love to try more designs. These would be great for an event or if you simply feel like a bit of a change. Great price and great quality. Highly recommend! Teddy Lane you rock!

Hahahaha same here... i had to be more generous with the glueing on re-application. I was overly worried the nails wouldn’t come off easily... but i was wrong hahahaha

Occasional nails

Super cute nails and easy to apply. I got the set in tequila sunrise (don't mind the drink to hehe) they are a mix of gold foil, white with gold and grey/white marble.

Matching them to my nails was fairly easy and straight forward. Any that were too big I just filed down the sides a bit with the mini file that it comes with.

I wore these nails for about 3 hours before they started coming off, by the end of the day they were all off. Keep in mind I'm a busy mama, so washing, dishes, general cleaning, bottle of wine etc.

So the next day I reapplied them and thinly coated my nail bed with the glue it comes with and held down the nails for a good few seconds before moving on to the next one. Again mum life proceeded as it does and the nails lasted 3days before they started to come off one by one.

Even though they all came off by day 5 my actual nails weren't ruined at all by any glue which is awesome.

I would definitely recommend that these nails be better suited for a special occasion/girls weekend etc, unless of course you're ok to reapply them.

Tips: Definitely apply thin layer of glue to nail bed/fake nail and hold down for a few seconds on your real nail, keep hands out of warm/hot water for 1-2hours

Testing Teddy Lane

I received the DAIQUIRI from the GLAMOUR COLLECTION. It comes in long length and is stiletto shaped. First impression, loved the color and shape of the nails, glamorous indeed. The pack comes with 24 reusable... yes REUSABLE nails, glue, file and easy to use instructions. I found it quite easy to match the nail sizes and the actual application was pretty straight forward. I applied a thin layer of glue in a line in the centre of the fake nails and pressed them onto my natural nails for a few seconds and boom... I had a set of glamorous looking nails for my night out. The glue didn’t have any unpleasant smell but I did find that I couldn’t put the cap on properly after using and it was lose, so I stored my nail glue in the fridge so that it doesn’t dry out. I did have to file them a little just to smooth the sharp tips and to make them look a little bit neater but was very easy to do. Once on they felt very light and I forgot that I had fake stick on nails. They did look pretty similar to acrylics from afar. They stayed on well all night and I didn’t have any nails flying off which is normally the case with stick on nails. However I lost a few the next day while getting dressed and putting on my shoes, but this could be due to me washing my hands a few times and the glue loosening up a bit. Plus I did put on a thin layer of glue as I just wanted to wear them for 2-3days.Removing all the nails was quite easy as well, I lifted them gently from the sides and they came of really easily without any pain or causing any damage to my normal nails. I only had to buff the top of my nails with the file/buffer provided to remove the light residue of the glue that was there. All the fake nails were in perfect condition ready to be reused again. Overall a good product if you want short term wear instant glam nails just for a special event or function without having to splurge at the nail salon. Thank you BR for allowing me to review these nails and for introducing this range to me.

Tips: For stiletto shaped nails file the tips a little just to make them smoother and store the nail glue in the fridge so that they don’t dry out and you can reuse them again.

Teddy Lane Nails

I have never used these type of nails before and would never use them again. It took me a fair amount of time to sort out which nails were the correct fit and despite scrupulously following the instructions I found it extremely difficult to put the nails on and in some cases I had to apply the glue three times.

I was disappointed with the quality of the nails as some had patches of missing nail polish.

The nails did not look too bad once I managed to get them to stick, but for me personally I found them a little long and could find no information on whether I could cut them, so just filed the ends.

Tips: It would be helpful to have someone to help you with both sorting out the correct size of nail and to help ensuring that the glue sticks.

Easy quick nail fix

For this review I chose the Parisian nail set in long length and they are oval shape. My nails don’t normally grow super long so I filed them down to a length I preferred and also slightly more squoval to suit my hands better. I love the nude and blush pink colours matched with the white and rose gold. Very classy and classic whilst still being fun and pretty. I made the mistake of applying the nails to my left hand first, being right handed this made it more difficult using my left hand, now equipped with false nails, to pick up the little nails and apply them to my right hand. But I got there. Unfortunately I lost one not long after...and stood on it. It split down the middle but no problem! I stuck some glue along the middle of it and glued it right back on and it then lasted really well and I couldn’t tell it had a break in it. The Teddy Lane nails lasted really well. I was determined to truly test then and see if they would last 10 days. I did lose a couple in that time but my ring fingers and pinky’s stayed the whole 10 days and were then actually quite hard to get off haha but I soaked them as directed and after a few goes they came off. They were, other than my own left handed difficulties, very easy and simple to apply. Super easy to shape and file to the size and length I wanted with no damage to the nail. So easy to keep the glue in my handbag and then if I did lose one I could have quickly and easily glued it back on. Really comfortable to wear too. I worried they might hurt or feel weird but I didn’t even notice them after a few minutes. I could feel when they started to loosen sometimes which was handy so I could reapply. I wore them in the shower and bath and in the hot pools at Tekapo Springs. I wore them while playing with my kids, doing yoga, running and going on walks around mountains and they were amazing. I wore gloves when doing the dishes and tried to look after them as best I could. In the end I had two split, one on day 8 and one on day 10. One nail was quite worn by day 5 down to the underneath layer. Another couple had small cracks in the polish. But I think for wearing them as long as I did and doing all the things I did, that was pretty good. Next time I would apply less glue and just wear them for a few days at a time. But they will definitely be my go to events and nights out. I love how easy it to change them and apply them and they are half the price of having a gel manicure. My own nails were left I damaged from the glue although it was a relief to get them off after 10 days. My nails felt like they’d had a bit of pressure on them. I found the file included easier to shape and file the nails that using one of my own. I can’t wait to get a good stock of these so I can easily choose my manicures! No waiting and drying time and no mess ☺️

Tips: Watch the glue bottle. Mine didn’t seem to do back up very well and even though I put it back in the plastic case and in the box it leaked. Eventually it glued itself to the plastic case and the lid was glued to the bottle and I couldn’t get it unstuck. Apply to your dominant hand first for ease of application. Don’t apply too much glue unless you definitely want them to last a long time!
