Love the smell, hate the packaging!

I received a sample size of this in the mail from Palmolive. From the first time I had heard about it, I was excited. I love mint smells and I thought this would be so lovely to use in the morning to perk me up a little!

I couldn't wait to use it, the smell is amazing. It is minty but not like toothpaste, it's just fresh and a really nice change to my usual sweeter body wash scents. It is quite a thick cream with little 'bits' in it. I use one of those cloth scrub things and I didn't really notice any extra exfoliation from the beads though. A small amount lathers up really well and I felt nice and clean after using it. I still needed to use lotion afterwards though, I wouldn't say that my skin felt more moisterised than what it would if I used any other body wash.

My biggest pet hate of this was the bottle itself. It's ok to squeeze the first little bit out but unless you can store the bottle upside down it is pretty much impossible to get out. also the design of the bottle means it can't sit upside by itself anyway. Having heard that the fullsize bottle is exactly the same means I won't be purchasing it until they sort it out. I think the smell is so good though, that I will wait for them to change it as I do really want to use it again!

Very thick consistency, smells minty and fresh!

I have recently tried this body wash, and it smells really amazing, and I found it not to be drying on my skin. However it is a very thick formula, and very hard to get out of the bottle. It requires a lot of hard squeezing to get a small amount out. But once it is out, it is really fresh and lovely. It cleanses well.

Sweet, Minty and Delicious, but very Fustrating

I am a sucker for anything peppermint, and so when I saw this new scented body wash from Palmolive, I had to have it. Lucky for me, I received a sample of it, so I was able to try before I buy.

The product is a creamy white consistency, and contains small exfoliating beads, which are evenly spread throughout the product. This product smells like Christmas. Honestly if you love peppermint, you will love the smell of this body wash. It is sweet, and minty and delicious. Yum! The body wash is really creamy which does not dry out my skin. Bonus points.

The product comes in a see through bottle. An aspect I love with my shower products because it lets me keep an eye on how much product I have left, and lets me see the goodness inside. The bottle is shaped nicely, and has soft curves, and gives the idea that it will be really easy to hold and use in the shower. But the design of this bottle is the Achilles heal of this body wash. The product is near impossible to get out of the hard plastic bottle, especially with the small sample bottle, I found I was able to get 1/3 of the product out, and the rest.. well I tried everything, I tried leaving the bottle upside down in the shower, which was hard due the curved lid. I also tried mixing water with the product, which helped but overall, I just got really frustrated with this product, so much in fact, I just gave up and threw it in the bin. Something I never do.

I love the smell of this body wash, and appreciate the exfoliating beads, although I did not find them very effective, but would appreciate their use for those with sensitive skin. If Palmolive redesigned this bottle, I would seriously consider repurchasing this product just for the peppermint lover in me, however until this happens; I will be keeping my distance for this product, and all Palmolive products that are packaged in a similar way.

Tips: Palmolive, please oh please redesign the packaging of this bottle!!

Was going to pick this up in the supermarket the other day but I decided to come home, check BR and get it another day if it had good reviews. These reviews have convinced me not to bother trying it which is a shame as I love the idea of peppermint.

Disappointed but gets the job done

There were so many times I walked past this on my weekly grocery shop and I finally placed it in my trolley to stop myself lusting over it once and for all (One item down 200 other items I lust over to go) . I have never had a minty type body wash so the thought really had me wondering what it was like.

The packaging shape is a signature shape for palmolive, it reminds me of my own body shape (giggles) the shape of the bottle makes it easy to hold in your hand and easy to squeeze the contents out. When I first tried this I noticed how creamy and thick the body wash is, if you put too much on yourself then its hard to rub around or wash off. I can see why using a loafer would make this 100x easier, but all I have is my hands so I need to use less product and rub it as I wash it off in the shower. The peppermint is a sweet smell, its not too overpowering and is more pleasant than I expected, sadly I am the only one in my household who has been using this as my children and my husband think it smells like toothpaste.

The natural seeds that are for exfoliating are too small to make a noticeable difference in removing any dead skin, but my skin is noticeably smoother and softer after each shower. The peppermint scent also goes away as soon as my shower is over.

I am making my way to the end of the bottle and I have noticed how hard it is to squeeze the body wash out. Because of the thickness of the body wash you need to really use your wrist and flick it until you get some body wash out, very similar to when your getting the last bits of tomato sauce out of your tomato sauce bottle. Sorry a little off the subject but you get my drift.

Overall I wont be buying this body wash again.

Minty goodness

I like to try all different body washes so decided to give this a try when it was on sale for only $3 which was a bargain.

It comes in a 400ml squeezy bottle, the scent is quite nice it reminds me of after dinner mints. The consistency is crazy, it is super thick and such a mission to get any out!  It blobs onto my shower puff and feels ok to use but it certainly doesn't do any exfoliation as the scrubby bits are just useless.

There was a lot wasted as it was stuck in the bottom of the bottle and I gave up in the end. I would not purchase it again as there are much better body washes out there.

Love the smell but not the product

First off, if you like peppermint then this is a product for you! I really like peppermint as I find it fresh and cleansing and the scent of this body wash does not disappoint. It is a strong scent but by no means overpowering.

Unfortunately though, it is not a product that I will repurchase. My main reason is that although I find the smell of peppermint fresh and cleansing, this product did not leave me feeling fresh and cleansed. I can't quite pinpoint exactly what it was (as I'm sure the product is formulated as any other body wash) but after using this body wash, it didn't feel as though I had washed- not that I smelt horrendous, it was more of a feeling. I think a part of this is that there is no lingering scent when you step out of the shower- this disappointed me.

I bought this as a full size bottle from the supermarket, unsure what I paid for it but I'd say it was on sale. I didn't have any issues with getting the product out of the bottle as mentioned by other reviewers (I must have got a lucky bottle).

Liked but Dissapointed with Wasteage

I have super sensitive and problematic skin (prone to ezcema and dermatitis flare ups and reactions) so I generally only use natural soap bars that have only all natural oils to avoid irritation. I bought this to put in our shower for my partner as he is not a massive fan of the fruity smelling ones so I though a peppermint body butter might be up his alley and as I was almost finished by soap bar I thought I would try this to. I do like the look of the Palmolive Body Butter bottle but unforutanately practicality wise its not that well designed. You did have to squeeze it fairly firmly to get product out and sort of half way through the bottle it became near impossible to get anything out of it. The only way you would get to use up all of this product is by turning it upside down but unfortunately its lid design doesn’t allow you to do that without some assistance. You would risk a bit of wastage with this product. I did love the smell of this , peppermint always smells so clean and fresh and both me and my partner were really happy in this regards. It had quite a thick consistency which I actually really enjoyed it definitely felt more like a body butter than a body wash so I was very happy with this. The little beads for exofialtion were very small and gentle on the skin which as it said did leave my skin feeling very soft and smooth. It didn’t cause me any irritation or problems which was a bonus. I probably wouldn’t buy this again only because of the difficulty in getting this product out I think if they redesigned it to be a hanging upside down type of one I would definitely be interested in purchase again. I also probably wouldn’t recommend for the same reason above – too much product wastage.

Smells delish

This body was was a great price, and smelled absoloutely amazing. It had a mild exfoliant factor however could probably have been a bit coarser to be counted as a scrub. It was also rather a thick consistency...

I did really like this body wash until i had a reaction (my body doesnt like soaps much) and realised it actually contained parabens which i am beating down on at the moment because my skin really has a bad time with the harshness of soaps and chemicals...

Though for those who don't mind all that stuff it is an awesome delish smelling body wash/scrub and i do reccommend you try it at least once

Palmolive Body Butter Peppermint

I received a sample from a Countdown promotion. I tried it in the shower and it smelled lovely, nice and pepperminty, quite a thick formula but not enough gritty seeds to really exfoliate the skin. It left my skin nice-smelling and smooth. Reasonably priced from the supermarket. The material the bottle is made of makes it very hard to squeeze out the last drops of body butter. I would recommend the product but not the packaging, which is poorly designed, so for this reason I am not going to buy the full-size version.

Tips: If you can't get the last bit of product out, as a last resort cut the bottom off the bottle.

Open Sesame? NO...

I originally bought this product just after it was released. I absolutely love mint and a genuine minty fragrance. I thought this would be perfect to use for my morning showers when I feel like I need to wake myself up! The minty smell I thought would be a refreshing, perfect start to the day. The fragrance definitely leaves you feeling nice and clean, and the smell lingers and it definitely helps make you feel awake. The fragrance gets a definite 5 out of 5 from me.

The product is a creamy white consistency, and contains very small exfoliating beads. The beads appear to be evenly spread throughout the product. If you enjoy a mint fragrance, you will love the smell of this body wash. It is fresh and minty. The body wash is really thick white and creamy which did not dry out my skin but rather seemed to moisturise it as I used the exfoliator in the shower. I must add here that because the cream is so thick the presence of the beads is barely felt. I did not feel as if I had used an exfoliating cream but rather a body cream. The appearance of the cream gets a 5/5 from me, the feel of the cream and the moisturising abilities a 4/5. It is the thickness of the cream that I feel inhibits the beads from doing their job effectively so I would give the exfoliating factor a rather sad 3/5.

The product comes in a see through bottle; it is a nice big bottle. The price is very affordable and you feel like you are getting a bargain when you pick up the bottle as it is nicely shaped, with gentle curves and it is made with what appears to be very thick, sturdy, expensive, luxurious clear plastic. The bottle gives the perception that it will be easy to use. This is where the problem begins. My issue is with the thick hard plastic that the bottle is made of. Whilst it is easy to use the initial few “squirts” from the bottle it them becomes damn near impossible!!! Not matter how I shook, threw, jerked, squeezed or squashed the bottle is securely held its contents, much like Aladdin’s cave did not want to give up its treasures this bottle held onto its exfoliating lotion. (And yes I even tried open sesame along with many other words as I desperately tried to get the lotion out of the bottle!) I must say I contemplated cutting it open, throwing it away or just letting the kids have it! For the appearance of the bottle I would give it a 4/5. For the ease of use of the bottle an incredibly sad 1/5.

Tips: Be prepared for a fight to the death with the bottle - but what you get out of it may just be worth it!
