It's nice!

This foundation is reliable; it gives you a buildable coverage that conceals redness and the old acne bump. I found it true to its Matte and Poreless name for the most part, yet be prepared to not stay as matte as the day goes on.

Tips: Applying a good powder over it at start helps it stay matte for a longer time!

Matte & Poreless

I was recommended this product by a friend who has oily skin. I have dry/combination skin, however I wanted a cheaper full coverage foundation for everyday that would not clog more pores. It definitely does what it says. It made my skin matte and hid pores and texture, it does not make me break out. However, depending on what powder I use, depends on the overall finish of the product. I purchased the fit me powder, however it was not the matte and poreless version. I actually think that one would of looked worse. This combination causes creases where expression lines are, separates throughout the day, and looks dry. As it is winter, this foundation emphasises my dryness, even though I use a lot of hydrating moisturiser underneath. It provides a medium coverage, unless I use a lot of product and take time to build it up. It does fade slightly throughout the day around the lower cheek area as well. I do think this is a good product, I just think it is definitely more suited to oily or normal skin individuals.

Good product

I found this maybelline foundation to be a good everyday foundation, its comfortable to wear and does look great on . Its not too heavey and doesnt go cakey. It is reasonably matt to start with but towards the end of the day a bit of shine does peek through. I found it easy to blend with a sponge and didnt go patchy. The main downfall is just the packaging, a pump on the bottle would make it much easier to get out the product and keep the rest of the bottle clean and hygienic.

Tips: I found its best to blend reasonably soon after applying to the face as it can start to set once applied.

Favourite foundation thus far

I have dry skin, always have, but I was having no luck with foundations that were targeted at dry skin. Whilst in Hawaii early last year I saw this, it was cheap as chips so I thought I'd take the plunge and try something that's the polar opposite of what I normally go for. Boy am I glad I did!

It's a medium coverage foundation, feels super light on the skin and looks very much like skin. For me, the claims aren't necessarily true as it doesn't highlight my pores but it definitely doesn't hide them or leave porous areas looking 'poreless'. It also leaves more of a satin finish as opposed to matte, so your skin looks healthy and alive! And it doesn't cling to dry patches, hoorah!

The one annoying thing about this foundation is that it doesn't come with a pump. It's quite a runny formula so it can be a bit messy as a result. I find the best application method is with a beauty blender, or your fingers work surprisingly well if you're strapped for time. I initially picked up shade 115 which I realised was a little too pinky, so I've since picked up 110 and 120 to mix accordingly depending on whether I'm wearing fake tan etc. For reference, the shades that end in 5 are more pinky, and those that end in 0 are more yellow based.

I'm so close to finishing my 115 shade which says a lot as I can't remember the last time I actually finished a foundation. I wear it most days to work, and any time I need to know that my makeup will last the day and not look cakey and worn out at the end of it. It's just an awesome foundation!

Tips: This foundation mixes well with soo many other foundations, so give this a go mixing it in with a foundation you don't overly love, or that you need to change the colour of.

Holy Grail everyday foundation!

I can't get enough of this foundation. I'm on my third bottle! It's so easy to blend out with buildable, medium coverage. It stays matte long enough for every day and is fairly affordable too. I took one lippie off for not having a pump on the bottle - if other Maybelline foundations have pumps why not this one?

Tips: Pour some into an airless pump bottle to avoid product wastage! It also makes it more travel friendly.

This stuff....

I have very visible pores but Im not a big fan of silicone primers. I dont even need to use a primer with this. One of my favourites so far it keeps me matte all day, covers up my pores and has pretty good coverage. The price is good considering what you get. I'd repurchase again definitely!

Tips: I found applying with a sponge is better then a brush

love this!

hands down the best drugstore foundation! wish their colour range was more diverse and available though!, this foundation is amazing! looks great in all lights, and doesn't cake, covers pores well and is truly matte, a little goes along way! wish it was slightly cheaper and had a pump! definatley better than the original fit me , and fit me dewey + smooth!, this foundation makes your skin look even, smooth and great! had so many complements, foundation is such a struggle for me but this is my favourite! its better than any high end foundation I've tried! is a must buy for all

Tips: use sparingly! careful when poring as it all comes out at once!

Great Drug Store foundation!

I was in need of a foundation and pretty quickly my option was store brought so I went for this after all the good things I've heard about it.

I picked this up for $15 on special at the warehouse. It comes in a 30ml glass container with a black square screw top lid. In black and aqua writing it has title's and descriptions of what this product is.

I picked up the shade '120 Classic Ivory' this shade is best suited for my skin type and also findation website helped me pick as accurate as I could without testing before buying.

I like to pour a wee bit out onto the top of my hand and by wee bit I mean exactly that! The formula is runny so trying to get a little out can be a little difficult. But you really only need a small amount for a decent, flawless coverage.

The formula of this foundation makes it super easy to blend into the skin! I use my mock beauty blender and dab it into my skin. It covers my blemishes pretty well and hides my pores definitely! It's not as matte as I would of loved it to of been but with a setting powder on top this foundation really is incredible!

Applying it at 9 am I find by 9pm at night it has worm off a little around my t zone where I am most oilest. Which is something I can live with. This is a great everyday foundation!

Tips: Use a small amount! A little product goes a long way. Prime and set with a powder will help the longtivity!

120 - Classic Ivory

Shade Range - 120 – Classic Ivory. 9 Matte shades available in range. Limited colour range, only 1 deep shade. Packaging -Glass bottle, tidy labelling, twist off lid, open bottle – no applicator. Weight on face ⁃ Light weight Coverage ⁃ Medium Wearability – Not long wearing, will transfer to hand, clothes ect, when touched. Not transfer proof, not water or smudge proof. Setting spray can help, but not on very long hot days. Buildable – Buildable with concealer and translucent powder. Smell ⁃ No smell?? maybe slight “makeup” smell, but nothing obvious. Drying finish ⁃ Matte almost powder finish Texture – Smooth, Medium liquid texture. Skin types – For normal to oily skin. If you have really dry skin, matte foundations can sometimes stick to the dry areas and accentuate those areas when you might not want to. I have combination skin, so if I moisturise daily, Im usually pretty good. However, I can go dry really quickly. I have had no issues with this foundation with dry areas. Colour – Matches well. I have mild light olive skin, so I like to go for a yellow undertone foundation in the light range. The 120 Classic Ivory was perfect. Oxidise ⁃ Some oxidising after several hours of wear. Not as obvious if concealer and translucent powder used. Powder – Can go without powder, but will use translucent powder in T zone areas for a more lasting finish. Dries to a nice matte finish without powder. Banana powder or foundation powder will make it look cakey. Best tools – Flat top brush with a dabbing motion or hands. Using a sweeping motion can cause streaks with this foundation and a beauty blender tends to just soak it all up. Mils/ longevity ⁃ Standard 30mls. Can get a lot of use out of a whole bottle, don’t need much product for desired result. Price range ⁃ (sale price, full price) *Prices at time of researching for review* Farmers – $26.99 (but you do get your loyalty points and vouchers, often have sales) Warehouse – $22 recreateyourself.co.nz – 20.75 afterpay available. makeup.co.nz $24.99 Kmart – $25 beautybliss.co.nz – $24.95 paylater part pay available

Worth the Price? Definitely worth the price. Very affordable, reliable foundation.

Pros - Affordable Applies nicely Blends out well Colour matches pretty well Looks really good Don’t need a lot of product It layers well Can wear without powder Good simple packaging Standard 30mls.

Cons- Not a huge colour range Is not transfer proof or long wearing No pump applicator Not full coverage Can get cakey with some powders Oxidises slightly Can get patchy if you get sweaty or oily

Tips: For swatches and before and after photos see my profile :)
