I wasn't a huge fan of Sally Hansen nail polish until I tried this range. After I bought on bottle I was instantly converted. I LOVE these nail polishes and I am now a fan of Sally Hansen nail polishes (the Sally Hansen polishes I previously owned were quite old and obviously the formula has changed). Since buying my first one and loving it, I have purchased almost half the range I think. I have the red, pink, purple, light blue and navy.
Colour - I love the colours of these nail polishes. The colour that comes off the brush and onto your nail is exactly like the colour in the bottle. I always hate it when you purchase nail polish and when you apply it it doesn't look anything like it does in the bottle. The polish is quite bold and pigmented, so its not sheer.
Application - these polishes are so easy to apply. The formula is really smooth and doesn't leave streak lines when you apply it on your nail. I found it really easy to get a good smooth finish on my nail with only one or two coats, and fills the ridges in my bail nicely. This nail polish is put too thin so you don't need to keep applying heaps and heaps of layers. With the darker colours I only needed one coat, but with the others I use two and find it gives my nail good coverage with no see through patches. This nail polish isn't particularly fast drying, but does dry quicker than other polishes I have used.
Brush - I love the brush on these polishes. It's bigger and wider than your normal brush.Think flat rectangular shaped. ButI find it easier to apply with this type of brush as it covers more of my nail and you don't need as many stokes to get the polish over your whole nail. The three stroke application is really easy with this brush. The brush can almost cover my whole pinky nail!
Longevity - this polish lasts about 5-6 days without chipping. But I usually use a top and base coat with these polishes which makes it last about 7-10 without chipping. This nail polish is also super shiny as its got a built in top coat. I find that it doesn't leave my nails brittle or weak either. The nail polish is quite easy to remove as well. I've had my polishes for about a year now and they are just as good when I bought them. They haven't gone gloopy, separated or hardened at all. I do keep them in a dry, dark place away from direct sunlight. There's quite a bit in one bottle too (which is why they have lasted for a year, and they are no way near empty).
Packaging - I love the unique design of the bottle. It's a mix of a round and square bottle, with a rounded bottle lid/handle and straight square edges.
Would I recommend this - yes, defiantly. They are definitely worth your money. I am a huge fan of OPI nail polish, and I think these polishes a just as good as OPI. And the best part is is that they are about half the price! I get mine from farmers on sale, and I saw these at countdown the other day too, so are widely available.
I have never particularly liked black polish but this black is amazingly nicer than I would have thought. The brush is shaped so it's easier to apply without going over the edges & it lasts for weeks. Midnight in NY has a slight sparkle / shimmer which makes it different from just bold black polishes.
Tips: Because the colour is solid, when my nails needed a quick spruce up before a meeting, I was able to put another coat ontop without removing the old colour & it looked like I had just had a complete manicure.
