I received this in the NZ edition of BBBE... So I'm looking past the missing 'n' in Bronzer and the clear lack of preparation instructions on the packaging... I don't normally self tan (have only used one other product to date) and had no idea what prep was needed (because my memory is like a sieve sometimes), I attempted to apply this to one of my legs to see how much of a difference it made before evening out my 'tan'.
I do like how it's a gradual tanner and that you can see where you've applied it but the colour of the product is a bit um... well lets just say it looked like something a mum of little ones is well use to cleaning up. It doesn't smell appealing with any kind of tropical scent that accompanies most tanning products, in fact it smells more like a natural oil... like olive oil.
The actually tan colour after it develops is a lot nicer than I was expecting... at first I thought 'Oh No' it didn't work, but on closer inspection it was a subtle healthy looking glow to my leg and it made my other leg look sick :/ ok so even it out I did. My first application was anything but perfect but it's all good because my legs live in jeans (ripped ones mostly) so it doesn't need to be flawless but my application being hap-hazard certainly didn't help any.
If you are used to tanning products and know what you are doing this is a really good product... it last a few days before fading and it is build-able so you can darkening it over a few days but I liked he effect of two layers on my skin... helped balance out my pale legs looking lie a different person compared to my top half. I do love that this is a locally made product and animal friendly
I am not sure if I would go out of my way to repurchase this based only on the fact that I don't usually self tan... but if I were to then a big Maybe
Well I'm not a big self tanner, but I do know what is good in a self tan and what is not. I was very impressed with this product. When used with the mit it was very easy to apply. There was no noticeable scent for me, which I like, a lot of self tans I have used in the past have had an unpleasant smell to them.
Once the colour had developed, I was really impressed. It was a really nice subtle shade, with no orangey tinge (always good!) and I managed to apply it without getting streaks or uneven patches, so I'll definitely be using this again!
