Guyyyyyys here's another incredible trial opportunity from fab Kiwi brand Wild Ferns.  I'm not going to spend anytime waxing poetic on this one, we have too much to get through.  So listen up, Manuka Honey in Skin Care 101 has begun.

Manuka-who-now? Manuka Honey comes from bees (well duh) that pollinate our native Manuka tree.  As well as being delicous, Manuka Honey isn't just a sweet treat from nature - it's an incredibly potent ingredient for skin care, and medicinal uses.

You see Manuka Honey, like other honies, contains a lot of sugar and not very much water, this means micro-organisms can't easily form and colonise. Manuka Honey also ontains special antibacterial properties including an enzyme that produces Hydrogen Peroxide, a proven antiseptic and antibacterial agent.

As well as its antibacterial and anti-microbial properties, Manuka is full of proteins, vitamins and minerals, as well as antioxidants.  Antioxidants neutralise free radicals, lessening skin damaging and aiding the regeneration of new cells and tissue.

AND as if nourishing, soothing and healing all skin types (including sensitive!) wasn't enough, Manuka Honey is a natural humectant; acting to prevent loss of moisture thereby retaining the skin's natural moisture.

We're looking for thirty reviewers to put 3 products form the Wild Ferns Manuka Honey range to the test - if you're looking to include Manuka in your skin care, these might just be what you're looking for!

Manuka Honey Gentle Facial Cleanser works deep in the pores without stripping your natural oils. Calendula Oil’s soothing, healing and softening properties combine with toning Juniper Essential Oil to remove impurities and makeup without damaging the skin’s natural protective barrier. Rich and nourishing Avocado Oil immediately replenishes to leave skin soft and smooth after every wash.

Manuka Honey Purifying Toner is alcohol free.  It contains the beneficial qualities of premium certified Manuka Honey 80+ blended with Aloe Vera, Bilberry and Witch Hazel.

This purifying toner thoroughly removes remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt and prepares the skin to maximise the benefits of your moisturiser. These natural ingredients combine to stimulate the circulation, firm the elasticity of the pores and rejuvenate the skins cells. Manuka Honey helps eliminate impurities and assists in the healing of blemishes. Leaves the skin feeling fresh and revitalised.

Manuka Honey Protective Hydrating Moisturiser with SPF30 provides maximum protection and intensive hydration. It is rich in essential fatty acids andantioxidants, Rosehip and Wheatgerm oils instantly replenish, while Collagen and Hibiscus Extract help to maintain skin’s firmness and elasticity.

The tested and certified SPF30 works to shield the skin against everyday environmental damage. This non greasy formula is perfect to be worn under makeup and its suitable for all skin types.

If you fancy a spot on this trial team get talking to us below about all things Manuka.  Have you tried it in skin care?  What did you think of it?  Why do you want a spot on this trial team?

I haven’t tried manuka honey in skincare but I know it has amazing benefits. I would love to give this a try this range because I wear makeup almost on a daily basis and would love to see if helps remove all residue of makeup.

The last time I used honey on my skin it was sometime in my 30-40s diy phase - a face mask with mashed banana. I don't remember what the results were - just the stickiness and how yummy it was (lol -a little bit might have gone in my mouth). I love the antibacterial, moisturising and healing properties of manuka honey, and that they're made in NZ - sounds like these would be great products, for all skin types (including mature and sensitive). SPF is also a bonus.

I love Manuka honey based products. That moisturiser looks interesting .

I recently got a face mask containing bee venom & Manuka honey that I am yet to try as I'm using up an old mask at the moment. However I really can't wait to try a product with Manuka honey since I've heard such good things, so I think I'll bust it open this week. Just like with the mask, this skincare routine looks awesome. I love that the toner has witch hazel and the moisturiser has contains SPF. Would love to try!

I have been using the Hana skincare range that contains active manuka honey for the last 6 months. I feel it's such a gentle way to cleanse and look after your skin and has nice results. I have almost finished my current regime and love a chance to try the Wild Ferns range.

I haven't tried manuka honey in skin care before but I have heard unBEElievably good things. ;-) I am very interested in the product if their claims of firming the elasticity of the pores and rejuvenating the skins cells are true.

I have really picky skin. Super dry on my cheeks (and the rest of my body ugh) and then an oily T zone. One of my friends whos a bee keeper has been urging me to incorporate some honey in my skincare!

Bees are so valuable! I recently visited the beehive place in Taupo. Worth it!

21st November, 2017

This range sounds lovely. I haven't tried honey on my face yet but i am keen to try it as I have some nasty break outs at the moment so skincare products with antimicrobial properties sound amazing, plus the added bonus of an spf in the moisturier.

Manuka honey is great! I'm a nurse abs we use it for wounds and it can be very effective, I've been coming out in a few spots lately and Naka honey is great for that as it's antibacterial but also gentle on skin.

Oh my goodness! Manuka Honey is the best. We eat it like no tomorrow and I love products that have it included. My sister in law makes an amazing ‘heal anything’ paste with Manuka Honey and Tumeric, it’s incredible!

20th November, 2017

I haven't tried ant manuka skin care products before, but believe in the healing and soothing properties. Only ever tried honey on chafed lips, and that worked wonders. I would love to try out this natural product range from Wild Ferns.
