Do you want to tackle the signs of ageing...while you sleep?

Beauty Sleep.  Sleeping Beauty.  A good night's rest is the key to great skin.  We've heard it all before a hundred times, right?  But do you know what your skin is busy doing while you sleep?

The Basics.

You know how our hair is psychologically dead?  As in, it has no blood, nerves or muscles?  The same goes for our top layer of skin.  The epidermis has no blood vessels and the very top layer of skin is made of tightly packed dead skin cells that shed during the day.

During the day your skin is pretty much under attack from environmental factors, the weather and cosmetics.

So what happens when I sleep?

When you're in a deep sleep the metabolic rate of the skin speeds up - the skin cells increase in production and the breakdown of proteins reduces.  Essentially your skin begins to repair itself.

During sleep your body produces less of the stress hormone cortisol.  Cortisol is responsible for thinning skin, stretch marks and discolouration. Conversely, sleep increases the production of melatonin, which is the body's equivalent of an antioxidant.  It fights age spots and fine lines.

A 'proper night's sleep' (as The Mummy calls it) can also boost the efficiency of the growth hormones that repair and regenerate collagen producing cells.  Collagen is a protein that strengthens blood vessels and gives skin it's elasticity.

Will any sleep do the trick?

Nope!  Cell repair happens at all stages of sleep, but daytime sleep isn't a substitute for night time sleep when it comes to skin repair.

Why?  The energy needed to repair tissue isn't available during a nap.  This 'spare' energy only becomes available during deep sleep.

You're about to blow my mind aren't you?

Pretty much.  Olay have released a regime that delivers powerful anti-ageing ingredients when the skin is most active - while you are sleeping.  So while your skin is putting maximum effort into repairing it's DNA, you can boost the efforts with targeted ingredients designed to work with your skin while you sleep!

The luxurious Olay Regenerist Overnight Overnight Miracle Regime is packed with powerful ingredients, including Peptide, Niacinamide, Olive-M, Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerol and LysLastine. These ingredients work with your skin’s natural repair rhythm to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, increase skin’s elasticity and bolster skin resilience against environmental stressors.

The regime starts with the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence which starts the renewal of a million surface cells with just one drop!  When you use the Pre-Essence combined with the award-winning Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, you'll deliver twice the advanced anti-ageing actives 10 skin-layers deep!   Then in the evening, it's time for the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream, a unique gel-like formula assists with cell renewal and repair while you sleep.

15 incredibly lucky reviewers are going to be putting the brand spanking new regime to the test, each reviewing all three products,  valued at over $130!

Yes please, sounds amazing, would love to try this!

Never tried overnight skincare - and have the frown wrinkles to prove it. Great for us "lazy" (busy) mothers

Would love to try this. I am 54 so well down the anti-aging path and always looking for something new that might help. I currently use eye cream, oil, night serum but nothing seems to stop those wrinkles multiplying!

I know the feeling -Good Luck

I have never tried a dedicated overnight skincare routine before but am sooooooooo keen to try this set of products. I've just run out of my preferred skincare products and I can no longer purchase them in NZ so am on the hunt for anything to keep the wrinkles at bay. This sounds right up my alley!

I have never been so excited to see a new trial team opplrtunity pop up haha! I have never used overnight creams or serums or anything before, but I'm startig to notice fine lines and dullness and I've been looking into overnight treatments. I already have quite a full skin care routine in the morning, but my night time routine is very simple so I'd definitely be willing to add a few more items in!

I haven't really tried night creams but I do put facial oils on at night, now I'm getting older and lifes stress is starting to take its toll on my skin. I would love to try and start a night routine

I use a night oil at the moment and i love it, i'm not sure if it helps with ageing, but i'd love to try the a full night time regime just to see what the difference might be.

I have only used general moisturiser at night so would love to try a series of products specially formulated for night use!

As a middle aged woman, skin care is starting to become more important to me. Although I have fared well, and hold my age reasonably well, I could do a lot better. I would be keen to trial this to see if this product works.

I'm at a stage where my skin is changing with age and medications etc. I would love to find a good product that helps. Most I have tried imply good results but usually they are just thick and gluggy on your skin and feel sticky all night with out actually showing any improvement of your skin.. So yes I'd love the chance to try this.

I have tried a lot of anti-ageing products including a few jars of a $230 moisturiser. What was I thinking? Well I'm 46 so I need all the help I can get. Right now I am very much into product layering to get the maximum benefits from active ingredients. From acids and retinol to serums, hydrating sprays and masks. My family refers to my bathroom the laboratory. I have to say, the Miracle Essence has some brilliant ingredients. If I don't get chosen for this trial I will be seeking it out for my lab.

I haven't tried overnight products before. It would be interesting to see if they actually do make a difference to my skin.

I've been using a night cream for the last couple of years (since I hit the big 4 0 and noticed a few extra crinkles around my face), and currently use the Ganier ultralift brand that a friend recommended.. I already use an Olay regenerist cream during the day, so I am really keen to try out their night cream and see if it is equally as suitable for my skin type & helps iron out these fine lines!

I don't currently use any overnight cream and haven't really ever bought them. I'm curious to see how effective they can be. If I wear make up and clean it off at night then I do notice my skin gets a bit dry.

I am putting my hand forward because my lovely young teenager made a comment about my crow lines near my eyes I thought sheesh at 36 I best invest in some moisturising cream. I do use Olay moisturiser and apply after a shower in the morning and night. I have not dared to try this product maybe because of denial or out right show of protest to show my teenage being that just because I am over 30 (which in her eyes is classed as very old) I am not that old. In hoping to try this I can gladly highlight to my teenage being that I can age gracefully and clearly show her the evidence of this, to which I will gladly say in confidence that "I showed that Bugger" Mum one Teenage Being 0. So I am open for selection if you need me.
