Do You Change Your Hair Colour With The Seasons?

There's a reason for every season, or so the saying goes, and as far as I'm concerned the reason for each season is that it gives us a chance to change up our look. To shake things up. To embrace the new.

With autumn upon us, my attention has turned from bikinis to boots, from shorts to scarves, from lip gloss to lipstick. One thing that also might change? My hair colour. There's just something about a change of season that makes me want to embrace a new hue.

Autumn gets me excited for warm, rich colours. I love the idea of using the changing shades of nature as inspiration, and take the colour of leaves as an example when I go to my hair stylist. I'm talking rich coppers, dark golds, burnished browns and delicious chestnut shades.

As for winter? Rich chocolate brown and glossy black hair is the easy option. A chance to rock your darker side. However, it's also fun to take on the beautiful jewel tones of blue, red, purple and green. Alternatively, you could go ash grey, silvery blonde, or make like a blizzard and go pure white.

When spring fever hits, so does the desire to play with hair colour. To introduce pastel shades in pink, blue, green and lilac, or to take the chocolatey shade of winter hair and mix in some blonde to turn it bronde, or to go for a sunshine blonde 'do to match the vibe of the season.

Then there's summer. Easy, breezy summer. My desire to go high maintenance in summer is minimal, so that's the season where I don't want to deal with regrowth, or have to bother with toning my hair, so it's all about going back to basics and maybe introducing a little balayage for highlights, but the kind that I don't have to get redone every six weeks.

As for this autumn? I'm dreaming of a walnut base with cinnamon highlights threaded through... But enough about me - what about you?

Do you change your hair colour with the seasons? Or do you like to keep things same-same?

I do like to change my hair color from time to time. I've tried everything from blue blacks, copper reds, violets to earthy brown and chestnut tones:) I love the fresh and new look it gives me each time.

I wish I was game enough to go for an overall bright colour but I tend to just stick with my copper/brown base with Creamy blonde highlights. It's just easier to maintain especially when the greys poke through.

I colour my hair to get rid of the regrowth ie grey. Sometimes I change it but subtle mainly to blend it in.

Wow there's some gorgeous colours. I hate my white hair but it's too fragile for coloring otherwise I'd try a nice dark brown or auburn, the same as the girl in the first pic.
