Are Kiwi girls dirty girls?

Ok, do not hate the Pommy messenger!  But when researching an article last year, I asked Kiwi women to spill their secret beauty habits.  And some were gross.

(No judgement, I'll confess, I am the Beauty Crew member that collects her hair and sticks it to the shower wall.)

Having a chat at BRHQ I was asked how I thought Kiwi girls and English girls differed.  Number one on my list, was simply, Kiwi girls seem to be able to pee outdoors with little effort or embarassment.  Me?  Heavens, if it isn't made of sparkling porcelain, with the home comforts of a four walls, a flush and toilet paper, well, no, it's just not going to happen.

Second on my list?  The barefoot thing.  Seriously, going barefoot in the supermarket?  Down the street?  Do you know what kind of things make their way to the pavement?  Not to mention the impact on your poor feet - rough skin is an ongoing battle anyway, why add to it?

Third?  The bra washing thing.  Or the not bra washing thing.  When chatting to my friends and acquaintances, (and random people in the coffee shop) for the gross habits article, I mentioned other items on the list, and the one that seemed to get the most 'oh yeah, I do that too' was the not washing your bras regularly.  Eh?!  They hug your bosom.  They touch your under boob and your armpits - which have to be the sweatiest places known to erm, women.  I mean come on, on a hot day, sweat literally puddles in your cleavage.  How can you not wash your bras after use?!

So as part of our confessional series, we decided to ask, by the power of anonymous vote - are Kiwi girls going to admit to being dirty girls?  Or do you think all girls, no matter where they hail from, are capable of being quite icky at times?

Hahahaha this was too funny to read!!! I Pee in the shower, I'll even pee on the side of the road if we are travelling and I'm busting. It's only natural who cares. I also stick my mass amount of hair to the shower wall , my fiancé is always telling me its discusting but I see it as its better for it to be on the wall rather than clogging the drain.

Oh and this bra washing thing, I think I'm a little slack. I'll wash my bra every 2-3 days unles iv been at work or if it's summer I feel the need to wash my bra every day.

Just read this. I am a New Zealander but if that's what a New Zealand girl is then I'm claiming to be British (I could totally pull it off).

I have longish hair, so yes I collect whatever comes out in the shower so it doesn't block the plughole. I shower daily and don't sweat a lot, so every 3 or 4 days bra washing is the norm for me. As for going barefoot in public, not since I was a little kid in the summertime. I saw a guy in the supermarket with bare feet, the soles of his feet were black and I mean black, absolutely disgusting, no excuse not to wear shoes.

The no-wash-bra thing is awful! For most of us they really don't have to be expensive (go to Rose and Thorne http://www.roseandthorne.com/ for good value, well fitting bras that wash and wear well. This Pommy girl was brought up to be a bit strict about hand washing, clean feet and definitely fresh underwear every day. Yep, some girls are slackers!

I honestly hate how people constantly walk around in bare feet, especially down the street and in The supermarket!

Oh no she (they) didn't! I'm not voting because I'm not at all a dirty girl. I wouldn't dream of peeing outside and while I do the shower hair thing that's as bad as it gets around here. I'm clean, clean, clean and proud!

Towels, I change 1-2 times a week, after all they are drying a CLEAN body. Bras I wear for 2-3 days. I do wash bras in a small round laundry bag, bought from $2 type shops. Sheets every Sunday, love getting into bed on a Sunday to fresh sheets, just like the Kiwi Sunday roast!!! Peeing - well I have no problems there going outside if necessary, known to down the back of the farm on occasion. Hair in showers, and on clothes for that matter - makes me want to cut my long curls off!!!!!!! Ball up my hair I collect in my hands with conditioner, and still pull out truck loads from bottom of shower!! My hairdresser reckons we loose 150 strands a day!!! It's a wonder we aren't all bald, I said.

Totally random with the bra washing - sometimes it daily, more often it's a few days - depends on what else I'm wearing and whether I exercise (I have exercise bras) they do get washed after one use because they get sodden with sweat. Will use a towel for a few times before it hits the wash, and jeans are washed sparingly - but then I do have a gazillion pairs. Always wearing bare feet, pee in the toilet unless in the bush and then that's away from any water source. Get annoyed with lazy men who think it's ok to whizz in the bushes and go nuts at any family member who leaves hair in the shower - how hard is it to gather it up and put in the rubbish when you are finished? So I'm a Jeckle and Hyde persona with regards to clean/dirty habits ;)

Hair bundled up in thr shower leave on the soap dish until after and throw out straight after a shower for myself and my daughter as we have thick long hair and it beats leaving it to clog the drain. Bra washing as advised not to wash it too much I opt for airing out and changing wear use with other bras, although any sweaty bras from like excercise these ones are isntant washes not airing out lol.I do wash on a gentle cycle and have been putting them in a pillowcase and air dry on the line not hanging from the end of clasps but halved over the line to not ruin the shape. Again as advised. The peeing yeah in my younger days when I had tighter muscles I'd have no problem peeing behind the car door on the grass when out on the road .but now in the present haven't had to do that. Also won't sit on any public toilets every will line the seat with toilet paper no matte row busting I am. Walking barefoot maybe occasionally but not really maybe from the sand to the concrete type thing but I'm a shoe person in winter and summer jandlas so barefoot isn't really and option. Atm

I think kiwi girls are just less uptight lol, and I can say that because I'm a pom too. More used to the natural way of looking, no comments on the bra thing though hah. The p'ing out side thing is a kiwi man thing too, yuck, that's called indecent exposure where I come from hah. At least women hide behind trees to do it :)

I only wear my bra for two days and then in the wash it goes, unless I get sweaty, then it's only the one day. My pretend-science brain says that the salt in the sweat if worse for the wire than the washing! I was very surprised that women don't wash their bras often, but then again, I'd never thought to have that conversation.

Bra washing? tick. Inside a pillow case to lengthen the life. Pee outside? sure, if I have to. Go barefoot? yep, no worries..but to the supermarket? no, definitely not. I have a fear of broken glass.

15th June, 2015

haha I think kiwi girls are a bit more laid back, I love going barefoot, makes me feel more grounded and one with nature, I guess when we live in a country where we are not really at risk of doing any damage to our feet it's just a natural thing :)

15th June, 2015

Hehe, this is funny. I dont wear bare feet, except in the shower. I wash my bras every 2 days as I have 2 pair of matching undies for each bra. I have never left my hair on the shower wall??!!im not sure what that is about! I have peed outside when I was younger and afflicted with alcohol.

15th June, 2015

I'm guilty of wearing bear feet especially in summer. I do wash my bras daily though. I have peed out doors. Been several years since I have done it. I was on a long walking track, there was no toilet anywhere. Had to go in the bush lol
