Garnier Pure Active Micellar Cleansing Water Review

This is a great product to just have as a staple on your counter. Did it blow my socks off? No.. but it did definitely do what it claimed.

It felt pretty gentle but still pulled my makeup off (multiple wipes needed, about 5 cotton pads). No scent which was nice and after a minute to dry no residue which I really appreciated.

I have sensitive skin and this didnt break me out or cause tingling.

I used this product predominantly to remove makeup in the evening and I preferred to follow it up with a cleanser, but I did also try it in the morning without cleansing afterwards and it definitely took dirt off my face and left me feeling clean.

Overall it's a great price and I rate it for makeup removal but I wouldnt ditch my cleanser to use this in isolation.

Overall this is a pretty great makeup remover for everyday. It's not too harsh on the skin, doesn't dry my skin out but does a good job at removing all the face makeup off completely. I usually wear waterproof mascara and unless it's an oil based makeup remover then it has no chance with waterproof mascara so i didn't expect this to work with my mascara either which is fine. There's heaps of product in the bottle and will last you ages which is great because I always forget to buy more. I'd definitely repurchase as micellar water has become a go to for makeup removers for me!

I have used lots of micellar waters/cleansers. There are a lot of competing brands and formulations. Every brand has a version. Many irritate my sensitive eyes, even supposedly sensitive/hypoallergenic ones, but Garnier never does. The Garnier Pure Active Micellar Cleansing Water is lovely and soft on my eyes and the scent is clean/neutral. I use micellar mainly for removing mascara, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil, and matte lipsticks. I feel uncomfortable putting richer cleansers near my eyes and mouth as it would taste awful and may irritate. This Garnier micellar smells neutral (fragrance free) and feels soft. The bottle says it purifies and mattifies but, aside from setting spray and lippy, I don't know how one would judge this from a cleanser. I have combination skin, with oily areas, and my skin felt comfortable post-cleansing with this. The 400ml bottle is great value at $13.99 and you can often find it much cheaper at the supermarket. I would have no issue with $13.99 though- it lasts a long time and is such a premium product. Would definitely repurchase!

I’m not someone who usually uses micellar water, I find that it often stings my eyes &/or the sensitive areas on my face. I’ve had no stinging or irritation from this one at all.

It is designed for oily / combo skin, I’m definitely oily, and I’ve found that it leaves my skin comfortable, clean and clear. Pleasant fragrance, and no noticeable residue.

Overall I enjoyed the product, the only negative was that it doesn’t remove waterproof makeup around the eyes particularly well. I found that I had to rub more than I would like. It does the job well if you are wearing lighter makeup around your eyes.

In the past I’ve used micellar waters that have been really underwhelming, so I didn’t have much hope for this one. However, it really surprised me!

I was expecting it to be either really stripping, or that it would leave an oily residue - it did neither! It left my skin feeling refreshed but not dried out. It was the perfect amount of hydration and oil controlling. I also felt like it smoothed out my skin.

I found that it removed makeup quite well too, which is also surprising. I’m really picky with my makeup removers, especially around the eyes, but I’ll definitely be using this one in the future.

The only annoying part about this is that you have to use cotton pads with it, instead of using a face wash on its own. However if you were used to using a makeup remover and then a cleanser, this might be really good for you.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with this product and I would definitely recommend it. My skin type is combination/acne prone and it worked well for me.

This product is a god send for a girl who is crazy busy. I utilised this product as a cleanser primarily and it was amazing and fast to use. I found it was refreshing and left my skin feeling clean but not dry. I have oily skin so this was something I could not only use morning and night but also during the day to pep myself up. I don’t wear much makeup during the day but when I did it took my mascara off well, albeit I needed to use 3 cotton swabs to get it completely off.

The smell of the product was nice and not over bearing.

this micellar water removes make up very well but i think its more stronger than the other garnier micellar water ,it will sting my eyes a little bit and cause my skin redness just after using it ,but it disappeared soon and i think its because it cleans your skin more deeply and aiming at reducing acne as well .

I love love love garnier micellar water and I usually use the normal version - the pink one. I have combination oily skin so decided to try this new one when it was released. However, I found that the alcohol in the solution dried out my skin. I use micellar water to remove my make up and then cleanse again when I shower. I found that this still removed my make up just like the normal micellar water version. It removes all makeup easily even water proof mascara. I have sensitive skin and didn’t react at all to this product - I have found my skin is irritated when using other brands.

I will definitely not be using this again and will switch back to the normal version due to the fact that it dried out my skin.

I have used the oil-infused version of this Garnier micellar water before and quite liked it, so I was excited to try a different variation. In terms of size and value for money, this product is amazing. It says it lasts for about 200 uses and it's only $13.99! My first impression of the product was that it took my makeup off quite nicely, however, I felt it didn't take it off quite as quickly as the oil-infused micellar water I have used in the past. I found too that I needed to use a bit more on my cotton pad than I had to with the oil-infused version. In terms of smell, I found it had a bit of an alcohol smell to it which I didn't like, and again, this is something that the oil-infused version doesn't have. The product claims to remove makeup, cleanse and purify your skin all in one, without any rinsing required. After wiping my face down with it, I found that it left a bit of a slight sticky residue on my skin, and it didn't feel as fresh and clean as it would if I'd washed my face with water. So having said that, I still felt like I needed to wash my face despite the product saying you don't have to. All in all I did quite like this product as an all over makeup remover, although would probably be more likely inclined to re-purchase the oil-infused micellar water again as opposed to this one.

Im a regular wearer of makeup and i breakout easy, so i need something thats going to thoroughly remove any trace of makeup at the end of the day. When i recieved my micellar cleansing water my skin had just had a bit of a breakout (due to 'that' time of the month). I dont usually use a cloth to remove my makeup as my usual skincare product goes straight onto the skin so i decided to try the micellar water this way, which is not the recommended way to use this product but i wanted to try it anyway, needless to say this did not work well, the makeup only moved around on my skin. The second day i tried using a facecloth and it worked well, ive tried other micellar waters and have found that there is no difference between the removing power as stated on this one that you dont have to wipe as hard which was untrue, it was just the same. The packaging also says there is no need to rinse after use but I felt as if i needed to rinse afterwards as i still felt slightly oily. I actually prefer using my usual remover, rinsing and then using this afterwards, then i would feel like i wouldnt need to rinse. Overall i would use this product as the final cleansing process as i think it did help to clear up some acne spots but i dont feel like on its own it cleanses my skin as good as my day to day remover.
