Vaseline spray

I was a little surprised by this being in the March BRBB, I had seen it around, while curious I wasn't really tempted to buy this.

This is so easy to apply, spray the aerosol over the area to be moisturised then rub in. The moisturiser is lighter/thinner than the normal bottle moisturiser by Vaseline that you can buy as well. You don't have to rub it in but you may need to walk around waiting for it to be absorbed.

This would be handy if you have sunburnt your back and have no one to put moisturiser on you, spray this on and wait to dry. For every day use, for myself this isn't really practical in a small area and you need to be careful you don't make the floor slippery with it.

I don't really see myself purchasing this again unless I get sunburnt.

Great concept but a miss for me

I was stoked to find this in the March BRBB, I've been meaning to try it but couldn't justify the purchase because I can't seem to finish any body butters or lotions unless it's MOR or Pure Fiji. Sadly I still haven't finished this product despite having it for 8 months - I just don't reach for it as much as the others.

I love how the t.v advertisement makes it seem so effortless as if you barely have to rub it in but you still have to do that just not as much as you normally would if it was from the plastic bottle. There are three things that I really love about this product - the feeling of the product upon application, the fragrance and the amount of product that comes out.

I find when you spray this product that it's quite refreshing particularly after a nice hot shower. That may not be the case in winter (bit on the chilly side there) but it really has a lovely cooling effect on your body. Secondly it has the signature scent of the Vaseline lotion range; I love how warm yet fresh the lotions smell and I actually appreciate that they managed to maintain this fragrance under this new kind of packaging.

Lastly I love how just enough product comes out - it's not too little that you're left standing there spraying like a mad woman and it's not too much that you're profusely rubbing the excess into the skin. The claim to being non-greasy is spot on and is very lightweight! I would recommend taking this to the gym because it's quick and easy but personally I like to use thick lotions that smell a bit more - delicious.

I don't find this product as moisturising as other lotions nor does it leave my skin feeling supple like my favourites. Also, I don't like the noise it makes when you spray. It sounds like a whizzing alarm of a small machine you're kicking into gear first thing in the morning - it's definitely bearable but surely they could have could designed it so that it didn't make that noise? I can appreciate the idea but overall it's not for me.

Seems like overkill...

I received this product in my Beauty Box and was really excited to try it. I suffer from really dry skin and extreme laziness, so it totally appealed!

The verdict?

On the good side, it is easy to apply and rubs in quickly, without leaving a sticky, greasy residue.

On the down side... in an era where global warming is such an issue and companies are taking steps to minimise packaging, I couldn't help but feel guilty every time I saw this product on my shelf. Yeah, it worked. But you know what? Lots of other moisturisers are equally easy to apply - but are easier to slather on in the case of very dry skin.

Did it do the job? Yes. Do I feel like it did the planet any favours? No. Would I buy it again? No, I'm not so busy that I can't just use my hands to apply moisturiser.

Vaseline Spray Moisturizer for When I'm in Hurry

I received this in the delicious cocoa glow scent in the Best of Summer Best Ever Beauty Box. I do really like the delicious cocoa scent. It did take a few times of using this to get used to spraying on a moisturizer since I'm used to pumping and applying moisturizers and body oils with my hands or sticking my fingers in a tub of body butter and applying and rubbing in the product. So originally I wasn't sure how this product was saving me time which was the main selling point of this product. But once I got the hang of how to do this quickly I liked it a lot more. This moisturizer doesn't absorb instantly but it does absorb within minutes. So I do reach for this when I shower in the morning and need to be somewhere, at night I want to go for something more hydrating like a body butter or oil and something with more natural ingredients as well. I do feel like this moisturizer does work well for those mornings I'm in a rush to get out the door. It moisturizes my skin pretty well for daytime and I can get dressed after a few minutes, although I usually put on my robe and do my skincare routine before getting dressed. The cocoa scent lasts for a couple hours on me under my clothes. Ingredients wise this spray moisturizer doesn't have a lot of good for your skin ingredients it has glycerin and a tiny amount of cocoa butter and it is heavily fragranced and just loaded with silicones. I currently use a three ingredient all natural olive oil soap that's pretty much the purest soap I can find. But when I was using other soaps and bodywashes before I discovered this soap, I would feel a bit itchy after I showered and this spray moisturizer would just add to it. Now that I switched to a completely hypoallergenic soap this doesn't do that. But I because of how my skin, used to be itchy when I did use this in the past after showering with other soaps I limit to using this when I'm really rushed. I do like the convenience of this so I may repurchase this when I run out but this definitely isn't my preferred body moisturizer for everyday, just for when I'm rushed.

Tips: If you have sensitive skin or really dry skin like me, I would recommend having other body moisturizers on hand and just save this for when you're in a hurry.

Aloe Soothe

I'm a bit ambivalent about this product - its an ok moisturiser but not amazing. I like the twist lock on the cap but it has a wide angle random spray that goes all over the place. You still have to rub it in and because of the spray issues I think there's a lot of over spray and potentially wasted product. I'm not that sold on the aloe smell -not unpleasant but I wouldn't pick it over others.

Tips: Beware of over spray.

Not my go to

My mum gifted this to me as she got a buy one get one half price deal at a local pharmacy. I kind of feel like spray moisturisers are a bit pointless as you have to spray and then rub it in anyway.

It is easy to spray on but it comes out fast and it is easy to waste product. I like that it dries super fast and there is no greasy, tacky feeling afterwards.

I have dry skin and while this does help it is definately not my holy grail and I don't reach for it everyday. The smell is also odd. I don't really like it and for me that is a huge part of loving a moisturiser.

I don't think I would purchase this when it runs out. There are a tonne of better moisturisers on the market and not in a spray.

Not sure I like sprays for moisturisers as sprays usually go everywhere so you waste more.

Not a fan

Didn't seem to last long at all . Didn't seem like value for money with this product You still have to rub it in, not a simple mist and go situation. Personally I need abit more then a light mist hydration which is what this offers unless you want to use the whole bottle.

Not too bad

I love the idea of the spray and go moisturiser! Such a convenient idea, and so easy to spread. However my skin was still quite dry after using but still a great idea and handy for when you’re on the go :)

Vaseline Spray Moisturiser

I don't know what all the hype is about here! I used this product and I think it is over-rated. I found it difficult to get a light even spray every time I used it. I didn't think it absorbed into the skin any faster than the cream or lotion products. On the plus side, the container is light and smelled pleasant enough, I like the aloe vera one the best.

Novelty.

I picked up the Vaseline Intensive Care Total Spray Moisturiser when it was first released, after seeing it on a television advertisement. The advertisement gave me the impression that when using this product, you could spray and not have to rub it in. Instead, the moisturiser is sprayed onto the skin, but is in no other way different to a standard Vaseline moisturiser. It leaves an obvious but lightweight layer of moisturiser on the skin, that must be rubbed into the skin to absorb. I found the formula lightweight, but it took the same amount of time to absorb without being as hydrating as a thicker moisturiser. To me, the formula looks and feels like watered down standard Vaseline moisturiser. I tried putting tights on two minutes after using this product and they were sticking to my legs and ended up with white marks - just like a standard moisturiser. The scent is standard, summery and doesn't clash with my perfume.

The Vaseline Intensive Care Total Spray Moisturiser would come in handy during the summer, when you wanted to feel cool and refreshed, however I cannot think of any other reason that I would reach for this product. I was hesitant to share my thoughts because everyone else seems to love it, but my experience with the product was not amazing.

Trudijoy gimmicky is the perfect word to describe it. It's not a bad product, I just don't have a place for it in my routine. xx
