Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector

I tried this product over the last 10 days and noticed a slight improvement in skin tone - however this effect was reduced as the colour of the product was very orange. I had the medium which I am normally but once this product was on - it had a very orange tint to it which didn't look good at all. I also noticed an unplesasant scent which put me off using this. Unfortunately I couldnt recommend using this based on the colour and scent but it may be fine for others.

Tips: check the medium colour as it seems to have an orange tint to it on certain skins.

Garner Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Anti Ageing

I used Garner Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Anti Ageing for five days, I found it easy to apply, thin in consistency and very light. Unfortunately as the day went on my skin felt and looked greasy, the tone seemed to go from natural looking to orange and looked patchy. This may have just been my skin but I also had a small break out around my chin and forehead.

Tips: I suggest applying very lightly to start with, see how it covers and feels, then increase as required.

Promised You a Miracle...

The Garnier anti-ageing BB cream has a light, pleasant floral scent that goes away shortly after application. It felt very moisturizing to my dry skin as I applied it, which surprised me as the marketing copy says it is aimed at those with normal to oily skin; however, the moisturizing effect makes good sense for an anti-ageing product as skin tends to get drier as we age. It gave a light coverage and left a dewy finish, which is flattering to mature skin. I tested the "light" shade, which was almost too dark for my skin (MAC NC15-20ish). It also had a pronounced yellow undertone which suited my skin, but I can't imagine that would flatter everyone.

Unfortunately, the Garnier BB cream aggravated the redness in my cheeks each time I applied it and I had to use another product to cover those areas of my face. I later checked the ingredients list, which includes alcohol. Alcohol is drying to skin and can irritate it; this would also explain the slight burning sensation I felt on my cheeks while applying. For this reason, I did not try applying more cream on my cheeks to see if the coverage was buildable.

This aggravation also occurred when I tried the Garnier sensitive skin BB cream last year (my own purchase). In my opinion, alcohol has no place in a sensitive or anti-ageing skin product!

I also discovered in my research that the sensitive skin BB cream contains 25 SPF while the anti-ageing BB cream contains 15 SPF. I would argue that 15 SPF is too low for an anti-ageing BB cream as sun damage is our worst enemy when it comes to the look of our skin, especially here in NZ. Even if I could continue to use this product I would have to apply another product with sunscreen, which negates the advantage of using an "all-in-one" BB cream.

As far as any anti-ageing benefits, I don't feel that a one week trial is long enough to truly test this claim. I did note that the product contains sodium hyaluronate. Hyaluronic acid has been shown to reduce the signs of aging in clinical tests as it holds on to moisture and plumps up the skin, so I can see how it could make wrinkles look less obvious over time.

PROS: Relatively low cost (drugstore brand); light, inoffensive scent that quickly disappears, moisturizing feel and slightly dewy finish.

CONS: Not enough sunscreen for an anti-ageing BB cream. Contains alcohol which can be irritating to skin. May not provide enough coverage for uneven skin tone. Very limited shade range, although this is common for BB creams.

BOTTOM LINE: Because it has an SPF of only 15 and contains alcohol, I cannot recommend this product as an anti-ager. It might suit those with relatively clear skin who prefer a light coverage, but there are other BB creams out there with a higher SPF and without alcohol.

Tips: Avoid if you have very fair skin, sensitive skin, oily skin or neutral-to-cool undertones.

Yuk

I picked this up, luckily cheaper as it was on sale, in a medium shade to suit my skin tone, I was so excited to try it as i had never worn a BB Cream and this was going to be first one and after reading alot rave about it, i thought this was going to be the one to suit me, Well I could not have been more wrong...

Packaging is boring, no pretty colours or anything like that on it, yes it has some information about what it does so that was a bonus, but beyond that, there was nothing about the packaging that attracted me to the product, and i normally say "at least you know your buying the product" but its not even one of those cases.

The formula was "muddy" to say the least, it was horrible and hard to blend into my skin, it was way too thick and heavy on my skin, I don't quite know hoe to describe it, i just could not get it to work on my skin, and then if I did finally work it into my skin, it did not cover anything.

I tried and tried to get this product to work but I just couldn't, I got through about half the tube after continuing to get it to work for me, i ended up throwing into my special fx makeup kit incase I needed anything flesh toned in there.

So sadly i will not buy this again, I wont recommend it either, all though price wise it is great and garnier has a great rep so I know it will suit some people.

Not for me

I have very pale skin so went for the light shade. I found every time I used it I had the shiniest face. Also feels almost sticky on your face. Was a little better with some powder over the top. Find without the powder it seems to dissappear from your face just leaving a not so lovely oily faced look!

Awful product

I tried this product due to a recommendation from a friend and it was the worst product I have ever used. Although it did cover my complexion and made me look younger, it burnt my skin and left me with horrible big red welts all over my face.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream - Anti Age

Absolutely not a fan of this product. The product has a nasty smell to it and the product feels so sticky and thick, it left my skin feeling cakey and broke me out in acne. The coverage was light as you would expect a BB cream to be. Overall wouldn't recommend to a friend.

Not a fan

I tried this out after being suckered in with the 5 for 1 promise of the product and was overall very disappointed. I love a lot of Garnier's products but this one just wasn't for me. I didn't enjoy the texture, the tint just seemed off, and my skin was left feeling oily and unhappy.

Too Orange

Very lucky to receive this free but oh so disappointed. I'm 45 so was very excited when read it covers wrinkles but alias it didn't reduce any signs of the wrinkles nor did it reduce the appearance of my dark circles also found it quite greasy and heavy on my skin. Wore it a couple days to give it a good go but felt a bit oompa loompa in colour. Felt maybe when summer does arrive and my skin changes to a lovely olive colour it might work better so will try again then just for around the house.

Wait for it to be on special to try...

This is BB cream 'Original' I got mine whilst on special at Countdown for about $12. I was meant to buy BB cream 'Oil Free' but got this by mistake. The product unfortunately doesn't live up to its claim to produce a firmer and glowing skin. I find the smell a bit unpleasant, the colour a bit dull and it did not correct my wrinkles or firm up the skin. I don't have oily skin but I much prefer the 'oil free' version of this product. Apparently there's a sensitive BB cream out now, that will be interesting to try to.

Tips: I much prefer the 'oil free' version to the 'original' version.

I bought the sensitve one and when I opened up the packet the tube had a had a sticker on saying 'Sensitive'. When I peeled off the label it said 'Anti-aging'. I think these two products are one and the same.
