Alpine Silk Certified Organic Rosehip Oil Review

I found this rip hip oil like most other ones kn the market. It just had a plain oil scent. It comes in good packaging with a little dropper. I applied it to my face to minimise the fine lines and scarring. It has helped to reduce the redness but I think it will take more time to notice the effects on scars and fine lines. Great product that I would recommend.

Silky smooth

Firstly, this is the first facial oil i have used that isnt a cleanser. This oil is silky smooth, immediate results, easy to apply and isnt too strong in scent. I love rose scent as it makes you feel calm, relaxed and snug but too much can make your eyes squint and force you to use less of a product.

I use this every night after cleansing and eye cream but before my facial mist to lock in all my skin care. I use 1-2 drops, warm in my finger tips and apply from forehead down to my chest.

The packaging is great! Sturdy and easy to use. With oily products you dont want to use too much so packaging that ensures you use the correct amount with ease just made this product that much better, so 5 kisses for appropriate packaging.

The texture and feel is as is, its oily, but a silky feel, dosent linger on the skin and soaks in beautifully. The results i got were immediate, my skin was smooth, soft and supple skin on my face, neck and chest and i found my skin would glow the next morning from being so nourished and hydrated. I have not yet found a change in my skin tone or with any lines i have. As fine lines and skin tone are a minimal concern for me i highly reccomend this product! This is a great first oil product to try if your interested but not sure. You're not going to break the bank as it isnt a high price point product, and if you dont like it for the face you can use on the body as well.

Love my new addition to my skin care routine!

Tips: 1-2 drops for the whole face, remember to bring product right down to chest and neck. warm in finger tips before applying.

perfect for uneven skin textures.

I have used a few reship oils they have been too harsh for my sensitive skin, so was a bit weary when trying this one. To my surprise this one wasn't! I am prone to eczema around my nose and have found sometimes some rosehip oils can make this sting when applied, this brand didn't do that for me! I applied at night after a shower and it quickly absorbed into my skin and didn't leave it feeling overly greasy, unlike some other brands. It didn't make me breakout at all like some oils can. In the morning my face felt hydrated and skin looked even in tone and texture. after a few days of using this i noticed when applying my makeup, my foundation seemed to blend and go on more even without caking into any dry patches. I am overall really impressed and have now added it to my daily routine.

Tips: A little goes a long way, you don't need to use much at all.

Nice oil that hydrates my skin

Luckily I was chosen to review this Organic Rosehip Oil :) I have used an Organic Rosehip Oil before (different brand) and found it worked well so was excited to try this one.

Firstly the packaging - ok it looked a bit old fashioned to me, pretty but a little "fuddy duddy" without being mean of course! I think it's the piny colour with the rose, dunno it just reminded me of something my Grandma would have in her medicine cabinet. In saying that I didn't not like it - it was nice (my 6 year old daughter thought it was cool).

Moving on to the bottle, it was nice being glass with a dropper, which most oils seem to have. I actually didn't really love the dropper on this bottle as it seemed to leak everywhere whenever I took it out unfortunately. It wasn't really bad but enough to be annoying where it would drip on the bench and down the side of the bottle, so that was a downside.

The oil itself is nice, smells good not strong and natural smelling - it says to apply 2-3 drops to your face and neck but I did find that I needed more like 4-5 drops to get the whole face and neck done. After using it for about a week I think it has made a difference to my skin, it does feel smoother (that was one of my issues having uneven feel and tone) and looks a little brighter :)

I only cleanse my skin at night and normally put on my sisters organic moisturiser but used this oil instead and I really like how it feels on my skin. To help with fine lines? Not really too sure on this as yet but I will continue to use this oil to see if it does help there.

I love how it is Certified Organic as I try and use organic on my skin where possible. I would buy this product even though the dropper is a bit annoying, it's not enough to stop me using it as it seems to work well.

Tips: I use more than the suggested 2-3 drops for my face and neck

Alpine Silk Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

I was selected to trial Alpine Silks Organic Rosehip Oil and have been a little impressed. I've used other brands of Rosehip oils in the past but, none that have smelt as fresh and natural as Alpine Silks'. At first thought the smells took me to the lush greenery of New Zealand accompanied by a clear dash of Rosehip.

The packaging is simple. A pink box with a rose. The bottle is a beautuful frosted glass bottle with a white topped dropper.

The oil is the same consistency as olive oil. 3 drops provided enough product to cover my face. It was easy to apply the oil to my face using the dropper without the oil running down too quickly and is easily absorbed.

After the very first application my forehead lines were reduced. This has only improved after subsequent use. My face has felt incredibly well hydrated and fighting oil with oil hasn't been very oily either. I can't endorse the rosehip oil doing anything for uneven skin tone.

Thick and Hydrating

This lovely oil comes in a lovely pink box with Alpine Silk branding. Inside is a glass dropper bottle. You can see the yellow oil through the bottle. The dropper is big and works very well. I was happy to be able to try it, as I love oils.

The oil itself is thick for an oil, which I really like and one dropper is plenty for each application to face and neck.

It has a scent that is neither pleasant nor unpleasant, but what you'd expect from rosehip.

I've been using the oil as directed, twice daily as directed after cleaning. I particularly enjoy using it at night after the face mask. It absorbs a bit slowly so I apply it an hour or so before bed.I find it has a very softening effect on my aging skin, which usually has a tendency towards dryness. The product claim is that it will nourish and hydrate skin and reduce small lines and uneven skin tone. I'm not sure yet about the lines and skin tone, but it certainly does soften and hydrate skin. I'm sure over longer use the rosehip, acai, and evening primrose, will continue to benefit my skin. It's main benefit over other oils of this type is that it is thicker. I'm less keen on thin runny oils. It's lovely for an overnight oil.

It is a very good product and I recommend trying it.

Tips: Use twice daily after cleansing.

Alpine Silk Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

Initial impression of the packaging was not enticing - the product is in a pink box with a rose on it, it looks like something aimed at the ageing market or perhaps should be found in a NZ Made tourist shop. The product itself is in a glass bottle which is plain and yet appears much better quality than the box.

The oil inside is a golden amber colour and reasonably thick but absorbs easily into the skin. It has a light odour which I find really unpleasant but it's a fairly standard smell for an oil, just not my preference. The dropper is easy to use, but generous in size - you definitely only need the 2-3 drops as suggested in the directions.

This New Zealand made product is paraben free and contains certified organic rosehip oil, organic acai and organic evening primrose oil. While it is reasonably thick it glides across your skin easily and readily absorbs into the skin. It left my skin feeling nourished but not greasy.

As I was not a fan of the smell, I persevered for the trial period applying on my face (which did feel good after application) but wouldn't continue on my face following the trial. However, I also applied the product to dry areas such as elbows, knees and heels and it has been amazing. It really nourished and softened these areas (which I regularly moistuirse anyway but stil noticed a difference) and I will happily keep applying this product to these areas.

Tips: Don't be tempted to use a whole dropper of product on your face, 2-3 drops is plenty.

Quick Absorbing

I put my hand up to trail this for my acne scarring and I was lucky to be chosen, which was so exciting! It’s made right here in New Zealand and is certified organic by Bio Gro, which is awesome. I love the packaging, it’s so pretty. It’s a pink box with a 3D like rose. The 30ml glass bottle is frosted which gives it a luxury finish to it. The oil itself is yellow in colour.

I applied 3 drops onto my face during my morning and evening skincare routine. The oil felt thicker than any other oils I’ve used before, but it absorbed into my skin very quickly. It was also non-greasy. I usually dislike the strong scent of rosehip, but this one wasn’t overpowering at all. It was tolerable, which I liked. I’ve only used it for just over a week now, so I haven’t seen any results with the appearance of my acne scarring, but my skin felt very moisturised and my winter dry skin disappeared.

Overall, I think this is a great oil to keep the skin hydrated, especially over winter. As for the scarring, a trial of one week wasn’t enough, so I will need to use it for few more weeks to see the results.

Tips: Use it before applying day or night creams as well as eye cream.

Another Facial Oil

This is another typical facial oil to me. Its not outstanding and not terrible. I may need to test it out for a bit longer to see actual results. My skin didn't have a reaction to this product which is always a fear of mine trailing any new product.

The oil comes in a nice glass bottle with white dropper for easy application. You don't need much as a little goes a long way. I could do my entire face with two drops. If you want more hydration, add more drops. I found that it settled in nicely and wasn't too greasy. The product doesn't have much of a scent which I really appreciate in skincare. I can imagine that since you don't need much of the product that it would last you quite a while.

I think I would need to test it out for a bit longer to fully give my recommendation on the product.

Tips: Apply twice a day to clean, dry skin.

On the Fence

I have used (and loved) Rosehip Oil in the past so I was super excited to try this one!

Let’s start with the packaging - I really like the frosted glass bottle and the dropper applicator makes it easy to get out the perfect amount of product without any waste. The oil itself is golden with a mild scent, I wouldn’t say it’s pleasant but it’s not offensive either and not noticeable once applied.

This product claims to provide all over nourishment and hydration to your skin and helps minimise the appearance of fine lines and uneven skin tone.

My skin is definitely feeling a lot more hydrated! I no longer have dry patches on my cheeks and around my mouth. The thing I like most is how quickly the oil absorbs into my skin. I find 2 drops is the perfect amount for my face any more and my skin feels and looks a little greasy, even in the morning when I wake up. My skin tone is also looking a lot more even and my redness has reduced which makes me super happy! I need to trial the product a little longer before I can comment on any difference with fine lines.

The only downside is breakouts! Since I’ve been using this oil my skin has been breaking out around my mouth, cheeks and jaw. I can only assume it’s the new addition of this Rosehip Oil into my skincare routine as nothing else has changed. I’m hoping this will settle down as my skin gets used to it!

Overall I’m really enjoying using the oil (despite the breakouts) and I’m super happy with how bright and glowy my skin is looking! Even my makeup is applying better! I’ll definitely continue to use it and can’t wait to see if it helps with my fine lines.

Tips: Apply to a damp face straight after cleansing for quicker absorption.
