Great Update on a classic

This is a great update on the classic Nivea I remember when I was a child. I was very excited to peel the silver foil of the try the cream and it smelled just as I remember it, and it looked the same. The consistency was beautifully thick and creamy. I have sensitive cream, this didn't irritate me at all and soaked in lovely. I think it plumped my skin up after use and my skin felt hydrated all day. I think because it was plumped up it looked better as well. I would definitely use it again with my other skin care regime as using this with a combination of other products I use seemed to suit my skin really well.

Tips: Use liberally

NIVEA Cellular Anti-Age Facial Day Cream SPF 15

This cream is lovely and rich with a nice perfume. I thought the packaging was very classy for a lower cost anti-age cream. Unfortunately for me, it was too rich for my skin and gave me break outs! My beautician also thought that it was dryer in patches than with my normal moisturiser. I did think that my fine lines were improved but not sure anyone else noticed as I didn't receive any comments about it! I wouldn't use it again due to the break outs, however, I would recommend to friends to give it a try should they be looking for a low cost anti-age cream. I did find that the thickness of the cream meant that a little went a long way so it is definitely a value for money moisturiser. All in all, I do think it is a good product, just not one that suits my strange skin.

Tips: It's such a rich cream that start with a little amount and build from there.

Nivea re invents itself

Don't know about you, but for me, Nivea was the cream my Mum used in the 80's. So when I received this sample, in a pot with that similar shape, I was a bit skeptical. Upon removing the lid, I was immediately taken back to my Mum's bedroom, smelling that pleasant familiar scent. I've always liked that Nivea smell, so I was pleasantly surprised to find they had not taken that. away The cream itself is lovely to use. Its silky, goes on like a dream and is instantly absorbed. There is no tight feeling or greasy aftertaste. Because its so easy to use, you don't need much, making it very economical. As for the anti ageing claims? Well, my skin does feel softer and brighter. My fine lines are not numerous (combination of good genes and good cake) so its a little hard to tell if that claim works. But overall I am happy that this has made a difference to my skin which was a bit blah before I started using the cream. Has Nivea successfully re invented itself? I'd say yes - without losing the good things about it that have made it an iconic skin care brand.

NIVEA Cellular Anti-Age Facial Day Cream SPF 15

Firstly I really like the packaging of the product. The pared down white and silver pot looks nice and classy in my ensuite. As with all Nivea products this moisturiser has a lovely soft appealing fragrance - almost baby powdery and not too perfumed. The texture is as I would expect for an anti-aging moisturiser. In fact, maybe better than I would expect as it wasn't greasy and this is important for me with my 40+ yet combination skin. As I mostly wear a BB cream during the day, I tended to use this on my neck only and I found it perfect for that. It never pilled up or crumbled and it didn't give me any reactions on this sensitive area. On the days that I didn't use any BB cream or makeup I found this moisturiser lovely and light and non-greasy, and the moisturisation lasted all day. I liked that the product had no colour. The low SPF was a big drawback for me. I prefer to use SPF 30 at least. But perhaps Nivea felt that would make the product too heavy. So that makes this a winter product for me as I would need sunblock in summer.

NIVEA Cellular Anti-Age Facial Day Cream SPF 15

This is a lovely cream to use and it is great that it comes with the SPF15 included. The texture was light and only a small amount was required. It did seem to moisturise my skin and gave a smooth texture. It wasn't heavily scented and what smell there was, was pleasant.

Tips: Apply after shower or washing your face on clean skin surface.

NIVEA Cellular Anti-Age Day Cream

I received this free from Beauty Review to trial. It arrived just after Easter and I've been using it every morning since, and some evenings. I've used less than a quarter of the pot over this time. Overall I'm pretty pleased with this cream. It absorbs well, without being greasy. It plumps my skin up a bit, not necessarily reducing wrinkles but making them appear a bit shallower. I don't think it has influenced skin renewal but my skin does seem a bit firmer. I don't usually use a thick cream like this (basically a cold cream) but I found the early days with this were good and it was absorbed well. In the cooler weather of the last couple of weeks though I've found it a bit heavy for my skin and slower to melt in. A lotion version might be better for my skin over winter. One thing that I really don't like is the fragrance. It is the usual NIVEA fragrance, used for years, and it's not an unpleasant scent. But it's way too strong for me. With some products you get used to the fragrance after a while but with this, every application gives a strong scent that I don't like on my face. If there was an unscented version, I'd like it a lot more. Packaging is simple, classy, robust.

Tips: Best to apply straight after a shower while the skin is warm and open.

Not particularly impressed

The packaging was good, and the pot felt substantial and good quality. On opening the cream, it smelled quite fragrant - too fragrant for me, I like beauty products to be fairly neutral and natural smelling. I put the cream on my face, it did as it said it would, it was readily absorbed. And I thought it might do the other things it said it would, such as smooth fine lines and wrinkles. However after having used it for a week, morning and night, the skin on my face actually looked like it was missing something, and was drier and slightly more lined than usual. I use Dermalogica normally, which is very natural and full of well researched ingredients. I stopped using the Nivea and went back to my Dermalogica - within a couple of days my skin looked more hydrated again. Overall, slightly disappointed in the Nivea product, but not surprised.

Nivea Cellular Anti-Age Facial Day Cream

I like the SPF15 factor in this cream. The packaging is okay, a plastic tub, but I don't mind that. A generous 50 mls for the price, which I can get on special for about $20.00 at the local Countdown. On opening the lid, I could smell the familiar Nivea scent, which I quite like, and it's not too overpowering. The cream itself is a thick, creamy consistency, so you do not have to use a huge amount for your face and neck. It's a bit sticky at first, but once massaged into the skin soaks in quite well. My face was left smooth and hydrated. Time will tell if the wrinkles and texture of my skin will improve. If you are looking for a cost-effective daily moisturiser this may be for you.

Tips: After massaging gently into your skin, wait a few minutes for the stickiness to subside.

Light, fresh day cream that offers good protection

Lovely product in nice packaging. Affordable. It absorbs fairly easily and has a lovely clean, fresh smell - that familiar Nivea smell. SPF15 offers good sun protection - very important in a day cream. The verdict is still out on whether it will really reduce lines in the long run, but happy to keep trying. I like the fact that it is not heavy, so doesn't feel like it clogs my pores. Yes, I would happily recommend this to a friend.

Tips: Skincare products from the same range often work synergistically, so it will be good to use this together with the night cream, serum and other products available in the Nivea Cellular Anti-Age range.

Nivea Cellular Aniti-Age

Packaging quite nice but felt the top of the lid let the product down as it looked like a cheap plastic. DId not see any difference after using the product, have used Nivea products before the smell is still the same which I find quite pleasant but not over powering. What I did like was the product was not greasy on my skin and did not leave my face shiny and of course having an SPF added is always a good thing.
