Lush

This is my favourite moisturiser *ever*. If I could afford to, this would be all I'd ever use again. Unfortunately the price is the difference maker for me here, and my skin misses that soft supple feeling it gave me!

Tips: I've seen this on 1-day a few times - most likely parallel import - might be a cheaper option for trying before you invest in the real deal?

Hydration for dry skin

Clinique is one of my all time favourite skincare brands. I have been using Clinique on and off for approximately ten years, as I just feel the quality and range of products is amazing. If you have read any of my other Clinique reviews you would know I'm a huge fan, who has tried most of the skincare and makeup.

I love the three step skincare, and how the products are so fantastic for my dry, sensitive skin. My skin can react to some skincare brands, but I've never had an issue with Clinique.

Firstly, the Clinique packaging is great and you can always spot a Clnique product - they just look so high-end, Iconic and so stylish, with its silver writing and C emblem. This moisturiser is in a pump, which I find so hygienic and convenient.

I have used both this version and the normal lotion. This gel's consistency is lighter than the lotion, but just as good in my opinion.

This moisturiser is perfect for my dry, slighty sensitive skin. It absorbs well, and seems to even out my skintone, giving hydration to my dry patches. My skin feels soft and so moisturised after using this.

This is one of my favourite moisturisers, and another Clinique product that's a sure winner for me.

Tips: Wait for a gift with purchase, as its a way to try lots of Clinique sample sized products.

Clinique Dramatically Different Gel

This gel formula for this reminds me a little of the moisture surge range, but it is the same colour as the lotion in this range. The gel is light and feels moisturizing for me, but it is not as good on my combo skin as the lotion. The gel version is designed for people with oily skin, maybe my skin isn't as oily as I thought but it could be due to the clay mask I had done as well since it seems to be fine when I haven't used the mask. I normally prefer wearing this during the day and seems to be ok with layering primer and liquid foundation over the top. The gel texture reminds me of the moisture surge range by Clinique as well but does not deliver the same amount of moisture as that to the skin. I haven't noticed any scent in this and the back does say fragrance free. There is no sunscreen in it so you will need to apply this separately. I guess I expected a bit more from this product for the price.

Clinique Great but Pricey Gel Moisturizer

I have to say if you have oily skin the texture of this gel moisturizer is really good, it absorbs and hydrates immediately. It's good for those days when it's really hot and humid outside and moisturizer geared towards normal skin is just too heavy. I have been using this on hot summer days under my sunscreen and it's been helping to add another layer of hydration without making my skin excessively greasy. Now for the cons, price. For what it is just a plain moisturizer it is pricey. To be fair you do get more product than the average moisturizer but it hard to for me to justify spending that much on a moisturizer when there are other gel moisturizers at a more affordable price point that have a similar texture.

Tips: Wait till there's a really good gwp or discount at one of the stores that sells Clinique to purchase this.

Super Expensive.

As Clinique do regularly, I got a delux sized sample of this as a gift with purchase. Being a huge fan of Cliniques moisturisers, I was really looking forward to trying this out and seeing how my dry skin found it.

This came in a plastic tube that is easy to squeeze. The lid is a cap so it is easy to disperse product without accidentally getting too much. The tube itself is cheerful looking as it is yellow and it looks quite cute.

The product itself is very lightweight and quite liquidy. It has a strange scent that I really didn't like but that didn't stay around too long after applying this. As I have used a few of Cliniques other moisturisers, I was expecting the consistency of this to be thicker and was quite shocked by how liquidy this is. A watered down, lightweight formula isn't one I particularly like as I prefer something super hydrating for my dry skin.

Nevertheless I used this as a body moisturiser as opposed to a facial one. My skin didn't drink this in immediately as it does with other moisturisers from this brand. Also, this left a sticky, greasy film on my skin which I really disliked. This could just be my skin not liking the formula but this was really unpleasant.ni used this a handful of times, trying to get myself to like it but in the end I passed it on to my mum.

Overall I definitely wouldn't purchase this. I think this would be suitable to someone who likes a lightweight formula and who potentially doesn't mind a residue being left over. Unfortunately this just didn't mesh with me.

Dramatically Different

I got this as a sample to trial out for 10 days.

I was pretty excited to try this as I had seen alot of advertising for this and thought it would be great.

Unfortunately it didn't seem to work for me. It made my skin break out pretty badly. It felt quite greasy on my skin and didn't sit well under my makeup.

The consistency was quite watery, not gel like as you would expect.

It had a strange chemical like smell which I didn't like either.

Considering how expensive this product is I don't think its worth it.

Tips: Ask to trial it before you pay full price

Moisture surge

This product should be a staple for anyone with combination to dry skin. Iconic bottle which is durable and sturdy and a little goes a long way. I have sensitive skin and don’t react, perfect to use before foundation as mine still stays all day and doesn’t move. I would recommend this as just a moisturiser, definitely still need a serum and eye cream on top.

Light and easily absorbed

I am a big Clinique fan and have been using their skincare since I was a teenager. I have tried several variations of the DDML over the years, but this is probably my favourite.

This feels lighter in consistency than the original and absorbs very quickly. It feels cooling on the skin, which I really like. It's great for hot summers when you still need moisturiser but don't want anything heavy. You will need a separate SPF however. The packaging also irks me - while it has a hygienic pump, it is very difficult to get product out once you start running low.

I have other products I prefer over this, largely due to the price (it's really expensive for a basic moisturiser) and the fact that it does not contain SPF.

Dramatically helpful :)

I bought the 200ml version of this product back in October 2014 and have used around a quarter of it and I have used it (mostly) every day since purchasing. I have found that two full pumps of the product covers my face and neck really well. Once the product has been smoothed into my skin, it does not have any sort of tackiness, it just makes my skin feel really nice and smooth. I am horrendously oily through my T zone and I have found this product sits quite well, and aids in controlling my oils. I have found the gel to have a light scent, but it is nice, and I suppose adds to the 'freshness' I feel after applying. My skin seems to really love this gel, so I will continue to use it.

My holy grail moisturiser

I've been using the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel for about 2 years now but during that time have dabbled with other brands and moisturisers that have a thicker or thinner consistency than this one (including the clear gel moisturiser by Clinique). I've found that this one is the most effective for my combination/oily skin by far (I generally lean towards having oily skin but do get dry patches in the winter time).

This moisturiser is hydrating without being too heavy, and is gentle enough to use around the eye area with ease. It seems to be un-fragranced which is good as the product remains on the skin rather than washing off immediately. It comes in a pump bottle which is helpful for the first three-quarters of the bottle but is a bit of an issue for the last quarter as it just won't suck up the product. I've got a small lidded jar (just a sistema jar that is meant to be for salad dressings in your lunchbox) and when I am getting low on moisturiser I remove the lid and sit it upside-down in my sistema jar to drain out the rest. That way I get to use all the product with much less waste than I would have otherwise.

Tips: Keep a small jar in your skincare collection to drain the last of the moisturiser into when the pump stops dispensing properly.
