Not my favourite

I'm not really a fan of Burts - I found it to be too waxy in texture and felt like my lips were greasy. It smelt really weird and didn't taste nice. If it was lighter I would most likely try again, even though a natural product which I am all for a nice smell/taste wouldn't go a miss

Bit expensive...

I bought a light pink version of this, but was disappointed. The colour is nice and subtle, great for any occasion day time looks, but I couldn't get on with the texture. Very 'waxy,' felt like I had just rubbed a candle on my lips... and for the price, probably not worth it.

However, if you're looking for something organic and cute for every day, this could be the product for you.

Wasn't my thing

I loved the colour it created on my lips, however my lips burned when I wore it so unfortunately this product is not for me. I've never had a reaction before to lip products, and I don't have sensitive skin, so this was something new and different...

However, if you don't have a reaction it really is a beautiful product.

I loved this, but...

First impressions : I really like the simple but attractive BB packaging. This is a little more sophisticated than the straight forward balm packaging which is nice. I think it gives it a more mature feel.

Product : I purchased the "Rose" shade. Nice easy application, sheer but pretty colour, perfect for day time when you can't be bothered with lipstick. Unfortunately for me this gave me asthma. I'm not sure what ingredient it was but I do find a lot of balms/lipsticks do.

Final thoughts : Seeing as that's more of a "me" issue I would still say I like the product overall as it's nice and hydrating and my lips felt light and not sticky.

Tips: If you suffer from asthma proceed with caution on this one. Maybe test it in store before buying.

Great for lazy days...

I am reviewing the shade Hibiscus, upon opening the package i was a bit worried it would be a hot pink shade as indicated on the package but it is actually a beautiful peachy corally rose tone. This is actually a very good replacement for my beloved and now discontinued Blistex Liptone which was a fleshy nude toned shimmer-free tinted balm. This applies smoothly and the tint is definitely there but still easy to apply without a mirror for ease of use. You can definitely feel the shea butter and coconut oils at work as it is very moisturising - has a bit of a waxy honey beeswaxy taste but I appreciate that it has no particular fragrance or sugary scent. A bit pricey for a balm but you are getting an organic product minus the chemical nasties of a regular lip product, plus it was long wearing only had to apply 3 times in one day which is great for a balm so you will use less than a regular balm. I do wish it had a sunscreen which is important in a balm for me - none is noted on the package but it does contain some titanium dioxide which might give a slight protection. I have tried wearing with a neutral lipliner and it gives an understated natural looking lip - perfect for a conservative work place. I love that there is no glitter in this. On it's own its great for those days where you just wear a bit of BB cream and mascara and run out the door.

Tips: wear over a lipliner for a more 'done' look.

Not the best

Firstly, I found that application was difficult as the product itself was dry - it came onto my lips quite patchy and flaky. Apart from this, I also found that this product wasn't really moisturising - in fact I found that the dry formula accentuated any dry patches on my lips.

I have used this when my lips were in better condition and it is very pretty and pigmented - I wouldn't suggest using it if you get chapped lips though.

Average Product

I had seen these tinted Lip balms a lot lately so decided to purchase one after reading all the great reviews online about Burts Bees products.I brought the shade Hibiscus which looked more pink on the packaging but after opening I found it was more of a red shade so that was disappointing for me as I thought the colour would be more true. The shade is quite pigmented and I can't say my lips felt more moisturised after applying however the ingredients are all natural and the scent is quite pleasant, kind of like a bit of a bubble gum fragrance.I may or may not look at buying another shade but it is hard to know the true colour when there is no way to see the actual product without opening the packaging which ofcourse you are not able to do.I feel they are a bit on the expensive side for a lip balm at $18.00 from Farmers where I brought it so to me it is not very economical.

Rose tint

This product gives my lips a subtle and natural looking tint as well as providing them with some moisture.

It is not as moisturising as other lip balms, but is pretty great for a tinted one (others I have used can be quite drying).

I find that I can build the colour up a little bit by applying a few coats, or just one swipe over the lips for a hint.

The packaging is nice and simple, quite natural looking which I like. Product smells and tastes quite nice.

Cute but hasn't made much of a difference.

I use this product as a back up light lipstick rather than a lip balm, the pink is soft and pretty but it hasn't really done much in the way of fixing my cracked lips.

Very nice!

I love the packaging this came it. That on its own would be enough for me to buy it as a gift for someone. It had a great amount of colour when you applied it...but you have to be careful not to smear it all around the edges of your mouth since it applied like a lip balm. The texture is really nice and smooth, but without being sticky at all. I found one application stayed on my lips for a little over an hour which was great since I lick my lips pretty frequently. I wasn't a big fan of the colour I got which was Hibiscus. The colour on the packaging looked like something I would go for, but I found it a bit too orangy for my liking. If I had purchased it based on the colour of the packaging, I would have been dissapointed. If you like a bit of a orangy/pinky hue, it would be great. I have still worn it everyday and had comments that the colour looks very nice. Just not my preference. I couldn't see anywhere on the packaging that it has any sort of SPF covering so Im guessing it hasn't. That is a little dissapointing as it really is important in our climate. I don't think I would purchase it regularly as it is quite expensive compared to other lip balms :-( Overall, it has a lovely texture, and I loved that you only needed a gentle swipe of it to get the colour showing.

Tips: Be careful not to spread past your actual lips as the colour really shows up. Also, it would be awesome if they had testers at the shop as I didn't feel the colour was a true representation of what was on the packet.
