A sensory delight

I’m a mask addict and I recently received a whole bunch of these for Christmas. I have used other peel off masks before and haven’t found they did much of anything. This is a sticky thick purple gel that spreads across the face nicely. It smells AMAZING but does take quite a long time to dry down but you could use much less product from the sachet(I used the whole thing) . You could probably get 2 used out of one if you used it sparingly but I love the thick feeling on my skin. It peeled off beautifully and although I don’t think it cleared my pores it did leave my skin incredibly soft. I will definitely be buying this mask again and at $3 it’s great value.

Tips: Not so great for clearing pores but leaves skin glowing.

Would buy again

I brought this mask for $3 not thinking much of it, but ending up quite impressed after using. Before use, I washed my face with my usual simple face wash mixed with a bit of baking soda to exfoliate. Then applied the mask. It's quite sticky (not what I was expecting) but has a soft fresh scent. It dries quite quickly, like 10 mins and dries quite tight, which I didn't really mind. It was a bit tricky to peel off as one, but I peeled it off and notice my skin looked a lot fresher and my pores not so clogged. It's not the best mask I've tried, but for $3 I can't complain. I would definitely repurchased. I followed with my usual skin care routine - my ACV toner I make and sweet almond oil as my moisturiser and my skin looked refreshed, radiant and more clearer

Feeling passionate?

I did a gift giving exercise last year it was all over the internet and because I love the gift of giving I went ahead with it. I recieved a gift with this mask in it. I love masks. Its my favourite way of unwinding and having a little bit of me time. One weekend I decided to crack open this face mask.

This comes in a sachet. Its lightweight and thin easy to pop into the fridge for a cooling effect or wash bag. This sachet is brightly coloured with a fun display of a woman wearing this mask. I somewhat expect this mask to look reminicent of whats on the cover but it wasnt what happened for me. Easy to read guide on the back. Simple to open up . This mask has a clear purple gel consistency. I wasnt expecting that. It smells like a bowl off freshly picked passionfruits with an overwhelming sweet nectar.

When I opened this sachet I gently did a patch test along my lower jaw bone waited fifteen minutes for it settle. Yay it was fine. I spooned over this gel on my face and waited for it to settle in. I enjoyed this aroma coming from this mask. Quietly telling myself not to eat it lol Once dried it formed into a clear purple plastic mask. I gently removed it. I looked at it couldn't help myself; omg some blackheads lol

After using this my skin felt cleaner fresh and relaxed. I have two more masks left remaining in this sachet. Good value for money. I believe they are priced accordingly. I definitely want to try more masks from them in the future.

Looks can be deceiving!

I have used many peel off masks over the years, some were wonderful and some were utterly awful. This one falls into the mid-range category for me.

The runny gel comes in a sachet with a tear-off corner which makes it really difficult to apply. You really need three hands for this job; one to hold the base of the sachet, one to squeeze the gel up into the corner and a third to catch the gel and apply it to the face!

Thankfully, I had an empty make-up tub on hand and just squeezed the contents of the sachet into that before applying it to my face. There is sufficient product in the sachet for two uses, if all the gel is applied at once, there will be thicker patches of gel that won't dry in the recommended 15-20 minutes.

The picture on the sachet had deceived me slightly and I was expecting the gel to be this lovely opaque lavender colour with an awesome fruity smell. Instead, it was a clear pomegranate colour with a slightly sweet smell.

The mask did take a while to dry, as the first time I used it I applied too much to my cheeks and had to wait almost half an hour for it to dry completely before peeling it off. The next time I used it, I applied half a sachet and used a foundation brush to apply. It was a much more even (thin) layer that dried perfectly.

Once completely dry, the mask peels off easily without any pain. If it's not completely dry, it does hurt while peeling off, so leave it on until absolutely dry. The way I tell if it's perfectly dry, is to start pulling faces. If the mask starts to peel off and move on its own without any help from my hands, it's dry enough. Also, the mask will feel like paper on your cheeks if you lightly run your fingers over them. There shouldn't be any sticky or shiny patches if you look in the mirror.

When you're ready to peel it off, start at the edges and work inwards towards your nose. The mask should come off in one whole piece.

Tips: Apply the mask with a foundation brush to get a really thin, even layer that dries perfectly in 15 - 20 minutes.

Painful!

I had been interested in peel off masks for quite awhile and really wanted to give one a go and I really like this brand of masks. So I purchased a foil sachet of this for $4 at my local farmers. You do get 2 uses out of a packet but I only used it once as the first time I used it was the last for me. It comes out a clear liquid which is quite runny so isn't easy to apply. So I applied a thin layer over my entire face and let dry and the drying took FOREVER. It also doesn't feel very nice on the face as its quite tight and sticky. Once ready to peel off I did so and OUCH what a painful experience, its worse than ripping off a band-aid. It left my skin with residue that I had to exfoliate off which made my skin even more irritated. The smell isn't very nice either kind of a really artificial fruit smell. In my opinion give this one a miss.

Passion Peel Off

I have used many MJ masks. But this is the first one that I have come across that I'm not that fond of. It comes in the normal sachet packet. It's quite runny, so I got it pretty much everywhere - and eventually managed to get it on my face.

I know its a bit silly, but I was expecting a nice purply kind of colour because of the picture on the front, instead I looked like I had an intense sun burn. It smells gorgeous, sweet and fruity.

It didn't seem to want to dry on my skin, it was quite a cool night, I'm not sure if that makes a difference. I ended up putting the fan heater on my face to help it dry while chatting to some friends. After about 20 minutes it felt dry, and the very edges started to peel, so I began to pull it off. I avoided putting it on my cheeks and directly under my eyes, because I know from experience that those places hurt more when you peel it back - but this one hurt like crazy on my forehead! The nose, chin and upper lip weren't so bad, it was like it still hadn't quite dried.

I didn't notice the normal icky skin and pore gunk attached to the peel off part of this one, normally I can see that peel offs have cleared some pores.

This one was a bit of an overall let down unfortunately, I don't think I would buy this one in particular again - but I do love other ones I have tried and will go back to them.

no pain...no gain

I was lucky enough to win a few different Montagne Jeunesse face masques:-) I absolutely loved trying the chocolate masque so was excited about trying the passion peel off masque too.

Like all Montagne Jeunesse masques, it comes in a pouch with a tear off bit at the top and there was enough for two applications.

Like I always do, I apply masques with a foundation brush as I find it applies very easily and evenly.

This masque smelt absolutely divine and took roughly 6-10 minutes to throughly dry.

My only downfall of this particular masque was the pain it caused while peeling it off. It was quite easy to peel off but also painful which no one likes but as the saying goes, no pain....no gain.

My skin however, felt very soft afterwards and my face looked refreshed.

I would recommend this product if you don't mind a bit of pain but I personally won't be purchasing it as I prefer some of the other masques in their range.

Beauty means pain?

I was given this as a gift and before receiving it I saw the range and lusted over them! I do find that the price for one mask a bit too pricey considering it's a one use only. I do love the foil packaging it comes in because it means to me that it stays fresh and always ready.

I love that it doesn't take up much room in my makeup draw and is great for travelling. The design on the front is so playful and unlike any I have seen. It goes to show you that not every box or container needs a perfect model picture and that a woman with the mask on gives just as much appeal to the customer.

The texture is quite gooey but smells divine. I slather in on my face being careful to not get it near my eyes or mouth and sit relaxing with a good book or in a bubble bath. I tend to peel it off in the bath so not to get the left over peeling everywhere. It actually really hurts to peel off especially if you have peach fuzz on your face like I do. It pulls your hair out at the root and makes you scrunch your eyes, grit your teeth and pull it like a plaster fast and to the point. Despite the pain I experienced I did notice that my skin felt alot more refreshed and softer. I do wonder if it's just a nasty way to rid my face of the dead skin cells?? Who knows but I do know that I won't be keen to give it a go again, at least not this particular one OUCH!!

Tips: Peel it fast, it minimizes hurting time.

Ow!!

I received this mask in a gift and looked forward to trying it. I love peeling masks, I find it fun peeling it off my skin! Well, I tried this once and even though it had enough for another mask I threw it away! While it had a pleasant scent this mask has given me a new fear of face peels!

I applied to cleansed skin. It was a bit messy to apply due to being a sachet packet. Once on it took a little bit to dry. I felt no irritation so felt pretty good about my good deed for my skin. Once dry I wondered off to the bathroom to get down to my favourite task. Peeling!

It seemed to be quite difficult to peel up which I found different to my other peels. Once I had a spot lifted I started to peel and OMG it was like slowly waxing my face! There was nothing pleasant about it. I neatly resorted to rinsing it off but stuck to it. Once I finally peeled it all off I felt relieved!

My skin was quite red after and felt quite polished.

Overall, I will not be using or recommending this mask. It's far too painful! I have other peel masks I get better results from and enjoy using.
