Great wallet friendly product

To begin I should tell you my skin type: I am oily - dehydrated, slightly enlarged pores through cheeks, nose and forehead. I have some redness and old acne scarring (though not too bad). My skin's texture is very rough and dull.

I used this product all through my mid-late teens and it was a heaven send for my hormonal, greasy, pimple prone skin. The scrub is very gentle and actually quite mild, so much so that I could get away with using this every second day. The product itself is very creamy and smells fine, not offensive at all. You don't need a huge amount to cleanse your entire face/neck and it really does leave your skin feeling nice and smooth. I did find that this helped any active pimples go down and it helped to fight off any potential invaders. I think that as a whole the product is great, I really like Neutrogena as an overall skincare brand and have used a lot of their products over the years - this is one I have repurchased several times though. It's great as it's very pocket friendly which is appealing to teens, who I think would really benefit from this scrub. Will I repurchase? No, not because I don't like it but because I feel like I wouldn't really benefit form it any more as I look for more 'complicated' products that will deal to more of my skin's issues - this is just a nice basic product that I don't have any use for though it is fantastic!

Its good, but sucks about the microbeads

I was introduced to this scrub that same way as most of you, which was through the first beauty box that BR made. Honestly, when it comes to cleansers and scrubs I donā€™t get excited that easily simply because my skin is sensitive, and those two items seems to really aggravate my skin, so I wasnā€™t expecting much from this product.

The packaging of this is simple. It comes in a squeeze tube with a small hole in the nozzle which means only a little bit of product is released which is perfect because I hate wasting product. This is the exfoliator I keep in the shower , versus the vanity, and i find the shape is really easy to hold with wet hands.

I actually really like the formula of this exfoliator. Itā€™s a white creamy texture, and speckled with orange and white exfoliator particles, and it has a beautiful citrusy scent. However, one huge negative for me is the exfoliating particles, which Iā€™m 99% sure are micro beads which suck for the environment, and i prefer not to use product with artificial exfoliants.

This product does a nice job at exfoliating my skin, its gentle enough not to hurt my sensitive skin, and doesnā€™t break me out either which is good. It leaves my skin feel pretty smooth and soft, but it is not as effective as other exfoliators I have used.

Overall, this is a good exfoliator, but this is not my favourite exfoliator, and the micro beads is a huge negative for me so I wonā€™t be buying this product again.

Totally agree! I had a sample of this but will not buy it because of the microbeads. So disappointing.

Ol' Trusty Exfoliant

I have used this product for years, as I have dry skin, so require something to exfoliate away the dry skin I develop, but I also have sensitive skin and hate the feeling that some cleansers leave, where your skin feels tight or raw or slightly stinging (a lot of high-alcohol cleaners do this for me, and I'm not sure about the alcohol content of this cleanser, but it doesn't leave skin feeling raw).

The product has a lovely faint scent, which doesn't cling to skin at all. The micro beads are about medium sized, they don't feel too coarse to grate you, but not too fine that they feel ineffectual. Only a small dab (10c piece) is plenty for the entire face, and it's also handy for jaw and chest as well.

If I'm already wearing makeup, I will oil cleanse before I use this. And always tone afterwards.

Deep Clean Gentle Scrub

This is a basic no-frills scrub. I don't really like the beads in the product because I find they're quite large but this scrub does clean well. Just be careful not to get too close to your eyes.

Neutrogena Deep Clean oil free facial scrub.

I picked up a trial pack of this from the December BRBB. It has an orange citrus smell, which I think is yummy.

The texture of this is grainy and feels a bit rough. When you are squeezing the white cream with orange beads out of the tube it does hold its shape. This exfoliates well and is customised to you depending on how hard you press/rub the product against your skin. While it does clean my face it didnā€™t foam much for me maybe I didnā€™t add enough water to it, however it did mean could see where I scrubbed. It also contains acids that help the beads remove the skin. It says beta hydroxyl on the front but the ingredient list has salicylic acid. You have to rinse this one off really well, I think it is to make sure the beads are gone. My face did feel clean and smooth after using it. This is not a product that I would use everyday but it is nice in rotation with other cleansers.

Would I repurchase? It is a product that I would consider for repurchase depending on my needs. It is not an immediate repurchase as I do have other options that I would like to try.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub

Facial and body scrubs are my favourite beauty things to use so I was keen to try this scrub.

I usually use a scrub a couple of times a week and this one states it is gentle enough to use every day. I took this as a challenge and tried it. I used it in the shower in the mornings. The first 3 mornings went really well. My skin felt amazing and it sort of woke it up and readied it for my make up of the day. My skin is not usually sensitive but I found I could not use it on the 4th day as my skin was starting to look a bit sort of worn. A bit dry really.

I did like the results but I will only use this maybe every other day to see how that goes.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub

I love this Neutrogena scrub, i got given three 15ml sample sizes from Neutrogena last year. They were perfect sizes for travelling. This scrub reminds me a lot of the st ives scrubs as it has the same little beads in it so if you love the st ives i defiantly recommend you try this as well! This smells like oranges not over powering just a nice scent to it. I use a fifty cent sized amount of the product massaging it gently in to my skin, i love the feeling of the micro beads ex foliating my skin! it also really helped with my pores as well! The packaging says it is meant to be oil free and that fact is true, i didn't have any oiliness. Although i didn't pay for my samples, i would happily pay the $14 for it when i purchase it. The packaging is great! easy to squeeze the product out of. This was also fine on my sensitive/combination skin, it didn't give me a rash or anything like that so that was a win for me. Overall a nice gentle scrub that i will be recommending to friends!

Good as a cleanser, but not as an exfoliater

This product was a good cleanser - left my face feeling clean, but it was too gentle to be a good scrub/exfoliater. It is a lightly scented, white cream with little microbeads in it. This does mean it was good for everyday use or for removing makeup, but I like a more gritty scrub that makes it feels like it is doing a deeper clean and removing dirt/oil and dead skin.

My use of this product ended however once I found out it contained microbeads - which enter the waterways, are eaten by marine life and can enter the food chain.

Tips: Don't use as it contains microbeads

Neutrogena Gentler Scrub but Not for Daily Use

I was given a small tube of this when another lovely member decided to surprise me a with a few beauty goodies. I was happy to get this because I love skincare acids this has Beta Hydroxy Acids and I also have problems with black heads on my nose. I since the tube was travel sized I decided to take it with me on a family vacation. First the things I liked is that it was gentler than most Neutrogena foaming cleansers I've used and the beads are small and not harsh. My skin felt clean after using it and it helped to do a thorough cleanse after I took off my makeup. I eagerly scrubbed at my t-zone for the first two days then after that my skin felt really tight, dry and a bit sensitized. I stopped using this and my skin sensitivity went away. I don't think this is gentle enough for daily use. Another thing that doesn't appeal to me is the artificial micro beads. I personally prefer natural beads like jojoba beads. I have cut way back on the use of this scrub and now just use it once a week or every other week. Once the tiny tube is used up I don't think I'll purchase the full sized tube.

Tips: Don't use this everyday, even though it's supposed to be gentle enough for everyday use it's not.

A lovely scrub, but at environmental cost

I recently received several mini versions of this product from subscription boxes and friends, and have been using it over the past few weeks. My overall opinion is mixed, but not for the normal reasons.

The product itself I love! The packaging is simple and pretty, and the product works wonders on my skin. The formula smells delicious, and has little exfoliating beads that are fantastic for removing dead skin. It leaves my skin feeling clean without tight, and cleansed without overly so.

My ONLY dislike about this product is that it contains microbeads, which I am very opposed to because of the environmental damage they cause. I still find it concerning that microbeads are being manufactured. For this reason I will not be purchasing nor recommending to friends, for the sake of the fishies!
