Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm Review

I love this product.

I didn't think I could find another cleanser I love as much as my Bossy Oil cleanser but this is a very close second.

What I love about it. - Natural ingredients - Smells divine - Removes stubborn eye makes easily yet gently - You can apply while sitting on your bum on the couch, then wipe of with the ultra soft organic damp face cloth provided or you can do it in the bathroom. :) - Leaves your skin feeling beautifully soft and smooth and super clean.

I think it will last for ages as it really goes a long way. Amazing price for such a quality item.

I'm in love with this product!

I received this gorgeous cleansing balm as part of the September Beauty Box. (Second favourite product only to my nude lipstick).

The cotton cloth is a little smaller than a regular sized face cloth and very soft.

The pottle of cleansing balm is dark and almost black. The balm is a very pale yellow/ off-white colour. It is thick and oily to the touch. When applied the balm feels both moisturising and oily. The balm smells pleasantly of rosehip.

I only need a small amount of product to get my make up off (about the size of a $1 coin). After applying the balm and massaging it over my face I then wet the cotton cloth with warm to hot water and wipe off all residue.

My skin is visibly clean after every use with no remnants of make up and feels soft and nourished.

The RRP is pretty high but for what the product is I would definitely consider purchasing another pottle once mine has run out.

WOW! This product is amazing!! It felt so good putting on my stay-on make-up and thought I'd be scrubbing away just like my other make-up removers - not with this one! What a delight it is, face feels amazing afterwards and hydrated - LOVE this product!!

Like any product it is best to follow the instructions. Firstly, the packaging is really nice, classy and I felt from the packaging it would be a quality product.

The balm is lovely, I definitely use more than they suggest, but it warms easily and feels like a serum of goodness when you massage it in. Removing is where you should pay most attention to the instructions. I was initially removing with a wet cloth sweeping over, and it just wasn't removing all my makeup, in particular stubborn eyeliner. Once I reread those instructions and placed a hot moist flannel on my face for a few seconds, relaxing, enjoying the steam and the removed, I had the best results with all makeup gone, even heavy stage eyeliner.

Oh yes, and the flannel that came with it was a nice touch, but a bit rubbish. Quickly stained.

I've been using the oil cleansing method for some time now as I find it just removes makeup more easily than anything else. So it was nice to see something very similar but a little different in the last BRBB.

It's nicely packaged but a little hard to get the first couple of uses out as you have to really push your fingers into the balm to scoop it out. It gets easier tho!.

The balm is super easy to warm up in your fingertips before applying to your face. I get best results from starting on my eye makeup then massaging it into the rest of my face with small circular motions. I like to massage it in for about a minute before wiping it off with the cotton face cloth that comes with it. I do find that I need to wipe my eyes 2-3 times to ensure all the makeup comes off but it still does a better job of removing eye makeup than traditional cleansers. It really does just melt away the makeup. My skin never feels feels dry or tight after using this balm, something else that I love about this.

The scent is rather pleasant - to me it smells like a cross between honey and citrus. Makes the cleansing routine a bit nicer :)

I initially thought it was a bit weird to include a face cloth in the pack, but upon reflection I really like the idea. Most of my face cloths are dark colours so I've never really noticed just how stained they can get. I wish the face cloth was just a tad bigger though!

I also find this to be a lot less messy than the oil cleansing method as the balm easily washes out of the face cloth and down the sink without leaving an oily residue all over my bathroom sink. I think this will be my new go to cleanser! I just love it. Thanks BR for including this in the last BRBB.

I was so excited to see this product in the September Beauty box as it was something that I had been eyeing up the week before and I had thought to myself that it was a tad expensive and I probably shouldn't buy it. So I was pretty stoked when I opened by BRBB to find it in there!

I have never used an oil based cleanser and I was initially worried about using the product around my eye area as I live in fear of getting oils stuck in my eyes as without my glasses it's hard enough to see already! My fears were unfounded though as the product easily wiped away from my face.

I am going to agree with the other reviewers in that I do not like that you have to scrap this product directly out of the container with your fingers, I have repurposed a spatula that came from another product so that I am not contaminating the container with germs. I would have preferred that Trilogy provided a spatula or tool rather than the face cloth.

I have found the product to work quite well on my regular eye makeup, though if I have used my Urban decay lid primer it does require an extra dab of product and another go with the cloth. It removes all of my foundation and powders with ease.

This works perfectly for my sensitive skin and has not caused me any break outs. However I do follow up on removing my makeup using this balm with a cleanser each time as I always double cleanse/remove.

I got this in the September Beauty Box. I was so excited to see this as ever since I saw it advertised I'd been wanting to try it. It comes packaged in a box with a organic cotton cleansing cloth. Upon opening you find a solid balm which smells amazing due to all the oils packed into the jar. Once you manage to scrape it out of the jar (you don't need much) it melts instantly on contact with the skin. I wear a lot of eye makeup so concentrated the balm around my eyes. The cotton cloth is a handy little bonus and makes removing the balm a breeze. I simply rinse the cloth in warm water and gently wipe off. My skin is left feeling smooth and moisturised with no traces of my makeup. Bonus is that it doesn't cause my very sensitive skin to break out. Love it!

I was keen to try this but reluctant to pay $40 for another make up remover that doesn't shift stubborn mascara & eyeliner. So...super exciting to find this in the BR box. The balm is quite solid, but once a small amount is scooped out can be warmed up in your hands and can be applied to your face without any problems. Paid special attention around my eyes and then removed with flannel (provided) soaked in warm water. Hey presto! Make be gone!! And face feels soft and smooth without any need for more moisturizer. Highly recommend and will repurchase.

I got this product in the recent BRBB, and boy was it worth it! This cleansing balm is rock had and comes in a medium round tub. Although difficult to get out (due to its rock hardness), once its warmed up and applied it feels incredible. My skin felt so soft afterwards, and most importantly it did an excellent job of removing a full face of make up.

I dont think this will become my go to make up remover (as it takes more time and effort than my usual wipe and go), but I will keep in handy as a luxurious way of coaxing myself into taking my face off after a night out. My only complaint is that its hard to get out, and I had to use a metal teaspoon to remove.

I am a long time fan of oil cleansers, but was super intrigued about the concept of this. I apply a small lump of this to my face and massage it in and it really does remove stubborn face and eye makeup. I did find that you feel like you are somewhat tugging at your face as you are massaging the product in because it is not as 'wet' as a traditional oil cleanser. Because of this I prefer to apply a warm wet facecloth to my face prior to application and let that open my pores and leave a little moisture on my skin before I use the balm to cleanse. I find that my skin doesn't feel oily or coated in product afterwards which is also nice.

I think if this felt nicer to apply I would be a little more enthusiastic about this product. But in terms of it getting the job done and getting all the warpaint off my face- this definitely does the job, and well. Still a little undecided as to whether I would repurchase, or stick to something a little more convenient such as a cleanser with a pump dispenser.
