Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

LOVE IT!!

This is the best makeup remover I have ever used. It pretty much does deliver on all promises, the only thing is I find it takes me a little bit of time to remove all 100% of my makeup.

I have yucky dry sensitive skin and this works wonders on it. It is gentle enough for my skin type and always leaves my skin feeling fresh, clean and hydrated after every use.

It does take all my make up off - just not in one quick wipe as it says it does. In fairness I would say that it takes me longer to remove all my makeup using this product but it is much more gentle and leaves my skin feeling lovely with no irritation or sensitivity afterwards. It does say that there is no need to wash your face after but I always do as I could never go to bed without washing my face first. If your not obsessed with washing your face like me then I would say you really do not need to bother, also for those with normal to oily skin this cleanser would offer enough moisture therefore eliminating the need to apply moisturizer after removing your makeup.

I love it and will continue to repurchase.

Tips: I go through far too many makeup pads when using this product - that is really the only downside. In order to eliminate the problem I combine the cleanser with baby wipes and find I can take all my makeup off with two baby wipes.

Cleansing water

I honestly thought the hype surrounding Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water was crazy. How good could this product be?

Really good, my curiosity got the better of me and I ended up purchasing it after I ran out of my eye makeup remover.

The product claims it removes makeup and cleanses your face without you even having to wash your face.

I found the product removed the most stubborn waterproof mascara I had. It also removed highly pigmented lipstick and even double wear.

This water is magical.

Tips: If you find that you're breaking out after using this product. It might be you need to go and cleanse your skin again of rinse your face with warm water.

Not for me

I think it is packaged really well, it's always good being able to see exactly how much product is left! Very sturdy, flapped it around a bit to see if the lid would fly open but it was fine. Clear liquid (like water.. go figure), it doesn't have a scent to me. I believe it should be treated as the first step to removing makeup, I didn't find it cleaned it removed it all, and my skin definitely didn't feel cleansed after. I used it to freshen my face when after a day of no makeup and my skin felt really odd afterwards, like sticky? I would recommend it to a friend as a first step in makeup removal but I wouldn't say it's a miracle product by any means. To be fair I can't quite understand the hype that originally surrounded it!

Tips: Have another facial cleanser at the ready to really remove all your makeup and cleanse your skin.

No more make up remover wipes for me

I'm the kind of person that's super obsessed with skincare. I never miss taking my make up off in the evening. I've tried many types of make up removal products from oils to balms and make up remover wipes. I've heard of micellar water before but never had the opportunity to try it til now.

First of all the packaging is very straight forward, as with any other Garnier products. The lid dispenses enough product, not too much and too little which I really appreciate.

It looks like water and doesn't smell much like anything. There are very few ingredients and it's unscented which makes me think this will be fine on sensitive skin. I have dry cheeks, an oily t-zone and sometimes, my skin reacts to certain products but this was fine. It didn't irritate my skin whatsoever.

Unlike with makeup remover wipes, there is no need to scrub your skin to get foundation off. I was very impressed by how fast it took everything off, it was basically effortless and I was wearing heavy duty full coverage foundation when I first tried this.

I was expecting this to dry out my skin but it hasn't at all. In fact, my skin didn't feel as "thirsty" as it would if I had used a different cleanser.

I do think that the 200 use claim is only true if you use larger and good quality cotton pads. I also find that the "no rub" claim wasn't necessarily true for things like waterproof mascara and eyeliner. It does take it off much easier than a make up remover wipe though. All you have to do is drench a cotton pad, leave it on your eye for a few seconds and it does the job.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this product. I'm so glad Garnier has come out with a micellar cleanser water that is inexpensive and easily accessed by many people. I highly recommend this and I will definitely purchase more when I run out.

Tips: Use a larger cotton pad instead (Swisspers and The Body Shop are the only brands that I've seen that make them and sell them in NZ). It minimizes product wastage and makes it faster and easier to get to all areas of the face. I use one side on my face, add more product to the flip side and use it on my eyes.

Just fine I guess.

I was so excited when I got the chance to trial this product, I had heard so much hype about it and thought that it could solve all my problems - the biggest one being that I didn't want to pay so much for the BioDerma bottles!

I was really surprised at the size of the bottle, and the fact that it said that there is enough in there for 200 applications. I thought that this meant that the entire bottle would last me for 200 days - one application per day but unfortunately this isn't the case.

As for the product itself its just a fine make up remover, to be completely honest its definitely no better, and also no worse than any others that I've tried in the past. When I went to use it, aka one application on a cotton pad, I swiped it across my eye and I was disappointed with the amount of product that it took off. I then learnt that you needed to hold it down for 5 seconds and then wipe to get all the product off, a but annoying but i could deal with it.

I can say that I think that I'll be sticking to my neutrogena eye makeup remover, but will still use this for light makeup - definitely nothing waterproof!

And I would say that you would probably need 4-5 applications to remove all the makeup off your face entirely.

Tips: Make sure you hold down the cotton pad on your eyes for at least 5 seconds before trying to take the makeup off! Also doesn't taste all that great, so don't use it to remove your lipstick!

Love!!

I purchased the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water as I wanted to try something different other than makeup wipes as I felt like makeup wipes were pulling at my skin while removing my eye makeup. I purchased the Micellar Water from feelunique.com in a gift pack which included a Garnier primer for $23 NZD. The cleansing water is just like water and felt like I was removing my eye makeup with water but much better. All of my eye makeup is removed after wiping over my eyes about 3 times as opposed to 8 or so times with makeup wipes. The bottle is huge and is lasting me for ages, saving me $. I will definitely be repurchasing the cleansing water. Hopefully it will be released in NZ stores soon as it said on the Garnier Facebook page!

Garnier's Cleansing Water

My first reaction was the generous size of this product, and its RRP. The sparkling "water" look was slightly bewildering and I wondered if some slight colour may be a good idea since a small child could take this for a bottle of drinking water. The enclosed advertising for the product is excellent, every aspect clearly explained an d displayed and all Q&As; possible are answered. The cleansing water does what it says - removes make-up, cleanses and soothes. My skin felt refreshed and clear, with an "alive" glow. I found that it was unusual not to "wash off" after cleansing, but of course this is a toner/cleanser combined. Make-up applied afterwards was unaffected, but I wondered whether to use night cream or otherwise. Yes, a great innovation, economical and effective product, I hope Garnier bring out smaller sizes for portability as so many users are people on the move.

Tips: Keep well out of the way of children and possibly beware with sensitive skins as I sensed very slight eye sting.

I'm finally convinced

I had been using Bioderma for a good while and was in the market for a cheaper, more accessible alternative when this YouTube sensation finally arrived on our shores, so of course I nabbed myself one.

It took me a while to warm to this product and I put that down to not realising that you need to use more than two drops of water on your cotton pad for it to do anything useful. As long as you're generous with the amount of product you pour on your cotton pad this product works just as well as Bioderma to remove your entire face of makeup.

The packaging looks and feels cheaper compared to Bioderma, but that's a small price to pay for the HUGE price difference. I pick my bottles up when they're on sale for under $10, which is less than 1/4 of the Bioderma price, es muy loco. Needless to say, I will be repurchasing!

I used to use makeup wipes religiously to take my makeup off before cleansing, however I find using this is a gentler option for my sensitive, dry skin. I definitely don't get the claimed 200 uses out of each bottle, I probably get about half of that, but it's still a fantastic deal for a product that works so well for me.

Tips: For removal of pesky waterproof mascara, drench your cotton pad and hold it over your eye for 10ish seconds, it loosens it up a tonne!

Better than L'Oreal

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water gently cleanses while removing make-up from the face, eyes and lips. It's perfume free, dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested, suitable for all skin types, and does not need to be rinsed off.

I bought a bottle of Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water when I ran out of my (leaky) bottle of L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3-in-1 micellar water, as I'd wanted to try the Garnier one ever since it was first released.

Yes, it is easy to use and not having to rinse it off meant it was perfect to use when traveling or when we have a power failure (we're on tank water not municipal supply, which means when we have no power, there's nothing to activate the water pump so we end up with no water, too).

It removed my make-up as promised, but it didn't leave my skin feeling really clean. I still felt like I needed to cleanse afterwards, but that was probably just all in my mind, as doing a test with a make-up remove wipe afterwards did reveal that my skin was clean and that were wasn't any make-up left on my skin.

I do find that the large 400ml bottle lasts me a lot longer than six months, as I don't use it every night, and as this product does have a six month expiry date after opening, I end up using the rest of the bottle (once it's past its expiry date) to clean my make-up brushes. It makes cleaning brushes a breeze, and foundation, concealer and lipstick, which are usually a bit of a nightmare to wash out of brush bristles, simply just melts away into the micellar water and a quick rinse in clean water afterwards leaves them clean, soft and smelling nice, too.

Will I be purchasing another bottle of Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water? I don't know. Garnier have now brought out their Skin Active Micellar Gel Wash, which is basically a foaming cleanser version of micellar water. I have bought a bottle of this and want to see if I prefer it to the Micellar Cleansing Water before I decide which one I prefer.

Tips: Use a little to wash foundation, concealer and lipstick brushes in. You only need about 1cm of micellar water in a small cup or glass to swish the brushes around in before rinsing and leaving them to dry.
