Really disappointing

I'm a huge fan of Garnier Micellar Water and when I found out it came in wipe form I was stoked. I'm not a huge fan of wipes but they're super handy for in the gym and cleaning up your hairline when you're dying your hair, plus I've been travelling a lot and thought I'd check them out.

Packaging wise they're pretty simple - a pretty pink and white package in keeping with the liquid version, with a resealable tab.

The wipes are mid softness/thickness, but - and here's the issue - they're really dry. I don't understand this. Micellar Water works best when you're generous with it. So why, WHY have dry wipes? So confusing.

Because of this, I find I have to ADD water to them (and sometimes even add micellar water as well!) to get them to even approach being useful to me. I get a far better result using regular baby wipes, to be honest.

I may have had a dud packet but I got them the first week I saw them so they can't have been sitting on the shelves that long - i think they've just missed out something with the manufacturing.

I'd try them again as a GWP or if they were on super special just to see if they improved, but I'm not holding my breath, unfortunately.

Tips: Skip it. Use baby wipes and micellar in a spray bottle - cheaper, and a better result!

Not that great

I'm really disappointed with the quality of the Garnier Micellar cleansing wipes as I truly love the bottled product.

They come in the standard makeup wipe plastic packaging, and I found the resealable tab on my packet was actually pretty decent. It's always upsetting when you can't actually reseal the packaging properly and your freshly opened wipes dry out quickly.

I am going to have to agree with Trudi, the wipes are really dry, this leads them to not being very effective at removing your make up, and it makes it very very scratchy when you try to remove eye makeup.

The cooling/refreshing feeling of the original liquid micellar water when removing eye makeup was the major drawcard for me to this product as I thought it would be great for travel. Instead I have used up my packet mainly by using like three in a row to remove what make up I can before going in again and double cleansing with a face wash, and just as a general face refresher on hot days.

Not even good for the car!

I had previously tried the Micellar Cleansing Water and liked it so was uber excited about the wipes that I had heard so much hype about. I needed to have these babies for days when out and about to keep my makeup in check.

The little pack is super cute and can fit anywhere without too much fuss. I kept mine in my glovebox out of the sun so not to get dried out in the heat. I loved the freshness seal it comes with. Some wipe packs have ridiculous resealable tabs that stop sticking after only a few uses.

I think the size of them is pretty decent which is good. I can't stand tiny wipes that require at least two to do any real impact on your makeup. The thickness is adequate so that my fingers don't wear through the wipe from the harsh rubbing.

I too agree with the two below. The wipes are very dry. They are damp at very best. It requires me to rub harder which leaves my skin red and irritated. What is the point of a makeup wipe that doesn't work when used gently!? It is a waste of my time.

I would have been satisfied even if they were refreshing to use on the face. They don't even work in that way. I found that I had to use a cleanser to remove any makeup after using them. It defeats the purpose of wipes at all if I have to use a cleanser afterwards.

They are more suited for my son. He enjoys 'tattooing' mum so uses them to wipe away excess ink. They were no use to me so I just gave them to him to enjoy, which he does.

Tips: Don't wast your time or money, they aren't even good for wiping lipstick or food off one's face

Well, they work, but...

I use makeup wipes every day, because I wear makeup every day, and I'm the kind of person that by the end of the night I like to have the option of sitting on the couch to remove my makeup. So this definitely isn't a review on makeup wipes per se (they're great), but a review on the Garnier Micellar variety.

About a year or two ago when Micellar became the beauty buzzword, I tried the Garnier Micellar Water (in bottle). I liked it, but as a testament to my aforementioned lazy ways, it didn't stick because I hate washing flannels. I went back to my makeup wipes. Then! Lo and behold, here are Micellar Wipes!

Unfortunately they did not meet my expectations. They do remove it, but I found I had to spend a lot longer vigorously rubbing my face to break up the make up. This caused the wipe to rough up into some half disintegrated mess.

Tips: Use micellar water and a flannel, if you're a micellar fan. If you're not fussed on micellar but you're all about the wipes, just pick up the regular Garnier make up wipes.

Disappointing

I had purchased these hoping for a portable and convenient version of the amazing micellar water. But this was not it! I found these wipes dry, and did not live up to their liquid version. They did not remove all my makeup and I still needed to clean my face after two of these. For a quick refresh they would be fine but I would just use a baby wipe for that for a much more cost effective alternative.

Tips: Avoid unless you want a dry-wet wipe

Soft and gentle.

I picked these up on special to try as they were significantly cheaper than my preferred choice and having used miceller water before I thought they might do the trick.

The wipes are soft and easy to use but a little drier then I expected. They claimed to be gentle for sensitive skin which I believe they are however I did find they required a lot of rubbing to remove heavy make up which has the potential to irritate.

They are affordable but I wouldn't use these again because I think there are better wipes on the market.

Tips: Seal lid quickly as they will dry out.

Wipes

Not a huge fan of the wipes. They are very drying on my face.I do have dry skin already however. At a pinch great for taking off your makeup after a long night. But I wouldn't like these for daily use unfortunately.

Average

I purchased some of these from a big bucket sale for $6.

25 in a pack so it seemed to be a pretty fair price. I was a bit skeptical about a wipe on my face as I break out or get a stingy face if I wipe my face with a baby wipe. I needed something practical to remove my makeup at the end of the day before I could actually wash it off so these made sense.

My first packet I was really happy with performance from them, removed makeup well, thicker and darker eye makeup not so much but enough till I cleansed my face. So stubborn makeup these aren't any good for. However I noticed a break out after I had finished using these and was quite dissapointed. I hadn't changed anything in my skin care regime except using these wipes so I did put it down to these. However that didn't stop buying me another packet.

My second packet I had such a different experience. My makeup was a lot harder to remove with these wipes. They were not as 'wet' as the last lot so needed a bit of elbow grease to remove the makeup on my face. I broke out almost straight away within using them. So I stopped.

These are 'gentle' on sensitive skin as I never had the stingy feeling or the redness with them but I did breakout.

I won't be using them again. They didn't work for me how I had hoped. This doesn't mean they won't work for others :)

Not effective enough

Due the lockdown situation, I had to grab whatever make up removing product I could and picked these up to try. The white comes in white and pastel pink plastic packaging. The packaging is pretty but the lid is a sticker lid which I find makes wipes dry out faster. I'd prefer if the wipes had a solid plastic lid. 25 wipes are included which is good for the price. The wipes are quite fragranced with a smell that reminds me of baby products. I'm not a big fan of fragranced make up removal products. The smell is quite strong and does linger afterwards if you don't cleanse the wipe residue off. I believe the scent is meant to be rose but it smells more like baby powder to me. Each wipe is quite thin so to work effectively on the lips or eye make up, the wipes need to be folded up to give enough pressure for them to work properly. I was disappointment that these were so thin as I feel like I get less use out of each wipe and more effort and rubbing is required to use them effectively when compared to other wipes I've tried. The wipes remove face make up and lip make up well, but really struggle to remove standard mascara and eyeshadow. I find I need to use 3 wipes to remove a full face, and 2 on a more minimal make up day which isn't very efficient and means you end up using the wipes up way too quickly. The wipes are very hydrating which is a nice aspect, especially for those with dry skin. However, this hydration is partly due to the very wet residue they leave, which I find I have to cleanse off as it leaves my skin too oily. The purpose of wipes is generally convenience with removing make up and I find the convenience is lost if I had to thoroughly wash my face afterwards.

These aren't the worst things ever but I've used so many wipes that are just more efficient and these were more of a hassle than a convenience.

Wasn't a big fan

I am a big fan of face wipes and micellar water so when I saw these I was really keen to give them a go. I wasn't super impressed by these at all. I found them quite difficult to use and wipe on my face, they keep slipping out of my hand. I also found that it didn't get a lot of my make up off, it didn't take mascara off very well. I also wasn't a big fan of the packaging, after a few times of opening and closing it. The tab lost its stickiness and some of the wipes would then dry out.
