This moisturiser was good, but not great and I can't quite put my finger on why. I think it was a combination of things - I prefer pump dispensers on beauty products so you don't have to fiddle around with taking lids off and putting them back on when you have greasy hands. I also found the botanical smell to be a little strong for my liking. It did fade fairly quickly but I just prefer less of a smell. I also found it to be moisturising, but not quite enough for my skin, which is on the mature side now. So all these things combined left me feeling like I liked the product, but not enough to repurchase. Sorry trilogy, I really love you as a brand but this moisturiser wasn't for me.

To start with I have combination skin that is generally not sensitive. I have lots of complaints about this product, it was really not suited to my skin at all! I found this cream to be very thick and highly scented. The scent is very earthy and herbal, not my preference at all and it was all i could smell through the day! When I first got it I used it in the morning, my usual routine is skincare, go have breakfast, brush teeth then come back to do my makeup. Usually this leaves enough time for the creams etc to set into my face before I go ahead and do my makeup, but no... this cream was still very present on my face seeming to take forever to sink into my skin. I could have blotted my skin and got a lot of residue off it, it was kind of yuck to be honest. I applied makeup over this (benefit of doubt) and wished I hadn't, my makeup was moving throughout the day and I looked terrible. Reviewing this I thought maybe this would be better suited to be a night cream. Long story short still did not like it. Too thick, too oily, too scented. reading the other reviews it seems like a lot of people do like this cream which I did find surprising to be honest, for sure seek out a sample size before you throw $40 away on a full size one and look like a slick seal all day.
$49.90? Surely that is far too much to pay for a good skin care product. I have always found the prices to be far too ridiculous for the product on offer. I have never really been a fan of many Trilogy products except the rosehip oil and this is not a winner either. Firstly the smell...did it have to be so highly perfumed and in your face?!
I found the texture pleasant enough. Creamy and quite velvety to glide on to my skin. After three weeks I would have expected a slight change at least. I waited in vain, I saw nothing. My skin is still dry, red and flaky. My skin actually broke out quite bad after five days of continuous use. I haven't had such bad breakouts since i was a teenager. The only thing I did different in my regime was use Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream. I expected my skin to just drink this in and become softer even but nothing.
I will continue to use it in case my skin and I change our mind on it but as it stands it's a huge no go for me. For the huge price I expected a big impact on my skin. I expected to like it. I guess it goes to show that a big price tag doesn't always mean quality.
Tips: Use after a good facial scrub so you are moisturising just cleaned skin.
This cream has a lovely feel and definitely moisturised - however it's so highly scented with rose that I found that really overpowering. I also discovered that my skin must be more sensitive than I thought as I experienced a reaction and reddening of my skin. I had to stop using it and go back to my usual unscented moisturiser.
Tips: I really believe in the power of the rosehip - so if there was some way of harnessing that effect without the fragrance I'd be in like Flynn!
