This face mask smells incredible!! It smells like chocolate!! I love how fresh the lush face masks are and the great ingredients they use. This face mask left my skin feeling smooth and soft, however a little bit dry. I know it's great for acne-prone, oily skin and as I have dry/combination skin I did expect this effect. However I had to try it because it smelt so good.

Lush Cupcake Face Mask
Invented with teenage skin in mind
Cupcake is our one Fresh Face Mask that was created for a bit of fun. At the time, our inventor’s daughter was a young girl having slumber parties with her girlfriends every weekend, so he whipped up a chocolate mint mask for young, oily skin (officially solidifying him as the coolest dad ever). If you suffer from oily or spotty skin, slather it in this cocoa concoction. With spearmint oil to cool, vanilla absolute to calm redness and Rhassoul mud to deeply cleanse- Cupcake is a sweet savior for young faces. Smothering yourself in chocolate for clearer skin? Every teenage girl’s dream. .

Trying to get rid of acne I decided to give this a go. It has a pleasant chocolatey scent, but upon getting closer the smell becomes overpowering and sickly. It's very thick and slightly grainy, which is fine.
Once on my face it felt like it was sucking my face dry. Yes it pulled the oil out, but after washing it off my face feels like it's shrink wrapped. Not the greatest feeling. Not only that, the strong scent gives me a headache every use.
I won't be repurchasing this particular mask, but if you feel like you could make it work for you then I would say buy it, as it does work as it's supposed to.
This smells amazing and makes my face feel fresh and un-oily. Made my skin feel amazing and kind of tastes good.
I gave a full house of kisses for this cupcake mask.
I purchased this recently as I had heard chat of how lovely it is. Opening up the lid you see a chocolate looking mix. You smell a real chocolate fragrance. When you put it on it is really thick. Like really thick!
As you spread on your face you get a hit of peppermint. It is beautiful. I sit watching TV until it had dried up and longer. Using a warm face cloth wash it off. Warmer the better as it sort of hydrates and falls off better. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. It also makes all the red vanish from my colouring which I appreciate.
I do like to use a serum before bed. It makes the mask effect so much nicer.
I've tried ALOT of masks, it can be classied as an addiction I am sure but my recent use of Lush Cupcake has be smitten for what it does to my skin plus how it makes me feel.
Lush packaging is well known for it's matte black and stark chalk white writing, it is easy to spot that is for sure. Unsure if this mask was going to work on my oilier than normal skin I only grabbed a small pot, wish now I picked the larger one up as by day 2 of ownership this little black pot was empty as if it was licked bone dry.
The actual mask looks like slightly aerated whipped up nutella with a milk chocolate colour and grainy bit running through it, it is heavily and heavenly bombarded with rich scent of cocoa that it is a mission to not lick your fingers after smothering it all over your face. It also moves across the skin really easy without going thin in areas, keeping a constant consitency all over which I love a full bodied mask.
After the alloted 10 minutes of resting it rinses easily away with the use of a warm wet face cloth and then once patted dry my face was instantly bling! bright and not at all greasy or dry. Perfectly balanced. The added coolness from keeping the mask in the fridge adds the reduction of puffy dark undereyes and adds a refreshing sensation as you relax wearing it. Even though I didn't need to use it on day 2 I did just because I wanted that refreshing feeling again as I sat playing on my tablet.
My skin has been behaving so well since using the mask, with my skin care absorbing faster and my makeup looking smoother and more even. I will be getting this mask again next time I get into Lush and it will be a big pot, unless I can get a bucket full.
OMG this smells AMAZING! I was soooo tempted to grab a spoon and dig in. Fortunately, I slathered it on my face and got to bask in the gorgeousness for a little while.
It is great for oily skin. It soaked it all up and made my face and neck feel amazing. It was also gentle enough that my sensitive skin wasn't irritated and didn't flare up - that's hard to find in a face mask.
Definitely a favourite in this household.
i am such a cheeseball when i first smell this product, it is one of my favourite face masks to date. i apply it ony on my t-zone because this is my problematc area and i like to make the most of this mask and use sparingly, the active ingredients in it really help to calm my papules {pimples} and the smell helps to relax me aswell this mask is clay based so it isnt the most convenient mask to remove however it is an overall winner and the price of the mask is good considering the benefits
Tips: apply in the shower after a facial cleanse and/or exfoliant, leave on for atleast 5 minutes while conditioning hair {or shaving} remove with a soft sponge or cloth and enjoy your cupcake cheeseball skin :)
I absolutely love the smell of this product and the packaging is so simple and made easy to access the product so you are not left trying to scrape the last of the product out like other products. The texture feels abit gritty and cold as it needs to be stored in the fridge due to it being natural; however, the feeling is amazing when the product is on. I can feel my skin tightening and it feels like my skin is getting a good clean. I get extremely oily skin especially in the summer and this product is definitely my go to for help with oil control. After I use this I spray my face with the lush tea tree spray and apply a good oil free moisturiser to place some moisture back into my skin. The price is pretty forgiving given that the results are positive in which your skin is left feeling clean and less oily :)
Off all the masks from lush, this is the one I found best for my skin. It smells edible and amazing. My husband always laughs at me so much when I use this, that I don't leave it on as long when we have a bath, as its the least attractive of all the masks to use. But its worth using it. I have rather sensitive skin, and I found this was good to use once a week, but any more than that would start to make my skin a bit tender.
The lovely staff at Lush recommended this to me when I had a couple of spots but not a full on enough break out to warrant the 'wet dog eating garlic' smell of Cosmetic Warrior. I was a bit reluctant as it is for oily skin, which I'm not, and I'm not a fan of the drying sensation of clay masks as it is. But that scent lured me in......mmmmmm. This definitely smells like chocolate-not unlike the smell from the Whitaker's chocolate factory in my town! The sales assistant also tried some on the back of my hand and told me it also contained chunks of cocoa butter so it didn't feel too drying.
This is a really thick mask to apply and it thickens up even more closer to the expiry date. I use an angled foundation brush to apply and slacken it with a drip of water when even that becomes difficult. This is a mask best removed in the shower to save on cleaning up the basin later. I only leave it on for five minutes out of the recommended 5-10. As soon as it starts to feel tight I take it off to avoid my skin drying out. It has a very slight exfoliating texture when you remove it but does not feel irritating at all.
It does leave my skin feeling soft from the cocoa butter. Oilier skins could definitely get away with not moisturising afterwards. The spots I had calmed down after a couple of uses. I used it twice a week to get the most of the pot before the expiry date (Lush masks are ok for a wee while afterwards too but they will get quite thick). I have had a couple of new spots try to come up whilst using this but they haven't really amounted to anything.
This is a great mask that also suits normal skins suffering from break outs if you adjust how long you leave it on for.
