Spf30

I trusted in the brand & so I would use this brand for summer 2016/2017. I've not realize spf 30 is just not enough coverage for the harsh Auckland summers(which I love) It took me some time to realise that this wasn't working I thought I was not reapplying or applying correctly. As I was continously getting burnt. My kids would lather it on & would still be getting bright red to orange by the days end. What I find is its very tacky doesn't absorb and leaves an oil slick look. Now I don't mind not absorbing & leaving the white /tinged sunscreen look but my teens didn't like it all just not cool. After getting thru half way of the bottle & seeing the condition of myself & my kids skin I realized this isn't the product for our family. Then to top it of an article in the news asking people if they have experienced troubles with this perticular brand & product. Which helped me with my conclusion that this isn't a product for me.

Is it Conola Oil??

This stuff feels like a heavy oil.

When I applied it to my shoulders, it caused my hair (shoulder length) to go super greasy. The tips of my hair actually stuck together.

It says non-greasy. I say greasy.

No doubt it is thick and probably gives great coverage. I didn't burn with it on. But, during summer, when it's already hot and sticky, the last thing I want is to feel like I've been swimming in margarine.

Spray bottle is a nice size and shape, and the product does smell nice.

In my opinion, there are far better sunscreens than this one, that are actually 'non-greasy' and at the same price point.

Tips: Buy something else

Not the best

My husband was using this for surfing but found that it wasn't giving the best protection as he was still getting burnt and as its quite thick it was tricky to apply after being in the water!

I had to use it once when I forgot my usual spray on sunscreen and totally agree with the application thing, not pleasant to apply when wet and covered in sand!!

sticky oily and Yuck

I found that the sticky white cream never really soaked into my skin and if i rubbed into to much it was not only sticky but oily. Not good for the beach with Sand! I didn't get burned so i guess thats a really good thing.

Tips: Don't put on Face!

Heavy but effective

I tried the Nivea sunscreen and found it to be effective, but personally thought it was a little too oily and sat on the skin rather than being absorbed. It is effective and does protect the skin but I am certain there are better options on the market. I probably would not purchase this again.

Sticky

It did a good job protecting your skin from the sun and a good size to carry on your bag. However, I found it too thick and sticky and it is hard to apply evenly on your skin. Especially when you want to reapply it after playing on the beach.

Somewhat oily

Not the best sunscreen I've tried. It is quite oily and after spreading it on my skin and rubbing it in, it looks very shiny and I can feel a layer of this on me. I didn't like the smell and having to endure it for a whole summer I was glad to find a new one.

Tips: Only apply a thin coat.

Wouldn’t say no

Not too fond of how thick and sticky it feels, but then most sun cream is thick and sticky. It does spread well and eventually settles and absorbs. I don’t like feeling sticky at all. I burn really easy as I’m very fair skinned, but this did a great job protecting me all over. I don’t go swimming often so not sure how it holds up in the water, sorry.

Nivea Ultrabeach Suncream

Pros: - Nice size to throw into purse - Liked it best for legs, arms, torso - Doesn't sting eyes - No overpowering smell - Kept my redhead skin sunburn-free for at least 3-4 hours (no swimming involved)

Cons: - Definitely doesn't stay on for 4 hrs if you're swimming (my sunburnt kids can attest to that!) - Bit too thick & sticky for my face

Sun safe

I'm a sun-baby but this year I've noticed more freckling and sun damage showing on my skin so decided to step up my sun protection factor. Nivea Ultrabeach sounded like it would provided good protection against those powerful rays so I gave it a go.

I have one with spray bottle packaging which I really like, I find it's easier to use when on the beach since you don't end up with sand coating the inside of the cap like with some other styles I have tried. The formula itself is a nice consistency, very similar to a moisturiser which is what it smells like, nice and light.

It claims to be a non-greasy formula. I have oily skin and did find that both my body and face did have a bit of a sheen to them after using, but it didn't feel as heavy or as sticky as some products I have used so didn't bother me.

Regarding sun protection I have found that when using this I've avoided nasty sunburn, so far so good! I haven't been swimming in a long time so I can't really judge how water resistant it is.

The only downside I found to it was the shine factor on my skin, which so far I've found with every sunscreen I have used. It probably wouldn't be my first choice for sun protection if I was wanting something to go under makeup because of this as I do still have makeup and moisturisers containing SPF but I am still on the search for that great sunscreen which doesn't make my face all shiny!

Once my current bottle runs out, I plan on repurchasing as I do like this as a sunscreen and think it's one of the better ones I have tried.

Tips: This isn't my pick as a sunscreen to wear under makeup, better used alone or on the body!
