The Official Nail Color of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York
Long lasting nail polish

No chip color nail laquer straight from the shows. Easy-flow brush. Formaldehyde, DBP and Toluene free.

First apply a clear base coat to prevent your nails from yellowing and to help your nail color last longer. With one sweep, paint the first line of nail polish up the center of your nail starting from the base to the tip. For the cleanest look, be sure to leave a small space at the base of the nail. Then apply nail color to the rest of the nail.

I won't lie, before i got into doing my nails, the brand on nail polish never appealed to me. I have never brought it, and honestly had no plans to buy it. It was only when i became more nail creative, that i started sourcing from different brands and this is the brand i chose for my black, and gold nail polishes.

Price wise, these are a really affordable option and for around $5 you get a lot of nail polish (or i think so anyway). Plus this brand is so easy to source, being at farmers, Kmart, and big bucket sales, so literally they are available to everyone, which is more that i can say about many other beauty products.

So the packaging of this product is pretty basic. It comes in a cylinder shaped glass bottle, which has a matching cylinder shaped lip. The top and bottom of the bottle is flat, simple design, like i said but it does the job. Actually, something i love about the design it the nail polish colour names are on the top of the lid, so when you have these arranged nicely, you can read the nail polish colour, without having to actually pull out the bottle. Might sound like a small thing, but when you have a lot of nail polishes, it comes in handy.

One thing i am not a huge fan of with the design is the brush. It is just so tiny and little. In saying that, i mostly use these colours for feature designs, so i dont need to cover the whole nail anyway.

The colors i have onyx rush and bold gold. I find the formulas really similar, with the black nail polish being slightly slightly thinner than the gold. Overall, these nail polishes are really pigmented, even though the polishes are a bit runnier than others i have tried, i find the one coat of this gives my perfect coverage, which is pretty impressive.

These nail polishes are long wearing, the don't chip easily, and i surprisingly like the thinner formula. I would use these again in a heart beat

Tidy nails for a whole week!

I purchased this nail polish on impulse. I had never tried this range of nail polishes before, but it was a bargain so I had to have it! And now I want alllll of the colours!

Firstly, on application I really liked how this nail lacquer went on. The brush was small and the nail polish was thin and smooth to apply. However, I did have a apply a few coats to get my desired color, and my partner did comment how it was smellier than usual. Once it was dry it was so lovley and shiny and it stayed that was for the whole week with no chips at all! (admittedly I was at home most the week, rather than working but I was still doing 'stuff') - And to top all of this off I have just today read that it is Formaldehyde, DBP and Toluene free and I love any beauty product under $10!

All in all, I am going to be buying more of the colour range of Maybelline Colour Show polishes.

Tips: I always apply my nail polish to clean, dry nails using a good quality base and top coat.

Mint mist needs too many coats

I loved the color, when it was in the bottle. Which is pretty typical. I bought it thinking it would only need a couple of coats and it would be ok, instead I had to do about 4 coats to completely cover and by that time the color had changed. On first coat it came out streaky and looked a bit too milky if that makes sense. The one I bought was limited edition so I don't think it's in stores anymore, but just a thought for the other lighter shades.

Tips: I did try going over a clear coat, but that didn't seem to help. Perhaps going over a white or nude color for those who have bought Minty Mist.

Yes to the Clear, no to the Pink!

I own two of these polishes, Pinkalicious (170) and Clear (440).

I like the bright colour range but I wouldn't say the colour saturation is great, it's 'ok'. You definitely need at least two coats for total coverage.

I like the bottle shape and size, it is a straight up and down column and roughly 6cm tall. It isn't a contoured shape like many others and this makes it easy to unscrew the lid and also comfortable to hold while using.

The brush is too thin for me, it makes it harder to get a good clean coverage.

The shelf life is interesting. For the clear it is great! I have owned it for almost a year and it is still as thin and flowing as the day I purchased it. The pink on the other hand was gluggy and thick within 8 weeks! Both stored in the same draw out of any light.

It does wear quite well, I get 2 days chip free out of one polish which is pretty good.

They last through moving house

I've always been intrigued by these nailpolishes but didnt like the colour assortment available. I'm not the retro-neon type of girl. Give me classic glam and I'm all over it.

I found the colour Latte and I had to have it. It's the perfect nude on my olive skin and its "barely there" feature makes it even more beautiful. People have complimented me on my beautiful nails but after closer inspection realised its a nail polish. So its like a nail polish with a mystery :).

I use 2 coats and then its the perfect colour intensity for me. I love that its not streaky and most of all its quick drying. I'm a busy girl so I dont have time so sit with my hands in the air :)

This nail polish promises to be chip resistant and wow did I put it through its paces and test this theory. We recently moved house and this nail polish put up with packing, ripping boxes, carrying furniture, being knocked about and it still remained as beautiful as I when I first applied it. Absolute for me.

The only colour I will use is Latte because I dont like any of the colours but this nail polish is beautiful and will definitely save you the re-application time because its long lasting.

Tips: If you dont like changing your nail colour very often and want an affordable long wearing nail polish then this will please you.

I Have Polishes From The $2 Shop That I Prefer...

This was SO disappointing for me. My Mum gave me the shade Coral Crush and it's the most beautiful coral colour ever. Of course, every range has at least one coral shade, so it's not like this polish is unique. That's a relief because the formula kinda sucks. I mean it's quite easy to put on, it's not too thick or thin and it's very opaque. I ALMOST didn't need a second coat. My complaint lies with the staying power and the time it takes to dry. I painted my nails before dinner, 20 minutes later I knocked my nail while I was eating and the polish was still pretty wet so I took a huge chunk of polish off. It was chipped by the next day, nothing noticeable, other than the chunk I took out of it, but I wanted to take it all off by the third day. Now this was me not using a top coat, obviously, but sometimes I just don't have the time and prefer to have polishes that can last longer than 3 days without a top coat.

Tips: Invest in a good top coat, take the time to apply it and I think these polishes could be really nice.

unexpectedly nice

As I started to apply the polish my immediate thought was that I didn't like it and I'd put it in the pile for my girls to have - but once I put a second coat on and waited for it to dry I actually quite like the look of it. I think I'd use this for summery days, when I want something that looks a bit younger and fresher; but it won't be going into my stash for serious nail art.

Tips: Don't use this if you want a really opaque application.

Sort of dissapointing

I bought this in a purple and was really disappointed with the formula for this. The other ranges of nail polish are good but this one was really sheer and to get a full coverage you need to put multiple coats on but it streaks with the next coat even when leaving 10 plus minutes between coats. If you want a sheer colour this is good but it isn’t great for full

Awful formula, but nice colour

I have this nail polish in 3 shades, which all differ in quality. The shade Iced Queen was disappointing in quality. It's a pleasant pastel purple colour, nothing special but it is rather pretty. For a start, I found the packaging underwhelming. It's basic, and the label on mine was applied crooked, I prefer my beauty products to look nice! The polish was quite thick upon opening. When I applied the first coat, the polish appeared uneven, bumpy and streaky on my nail. I found that two coats were needed to build up a solid colour. After applying the second coat, the colour became solid, but the bumpy texture remained. The issue with the polish being so thick is that it looks like I have applied 5 coats of nail polish, when I have only applied two. I would not repurchase this as I feel that there are cheaper brands that provide better results. To make it worse, after 3 hours of wearing it, I experienced tip wear despite the nail polish promising to be long lasting. I also own this in the shade Fierce N Tangy which is even worse. In the bottle it looks like a neon yellow, but when applied to the nail it looks more like mustard yellow, icky. Fierce N Tangy was a nightmare to apply. It's formula is inconsistent, some bits of my nail would have thick globs of polish and some would only end up thinly covered, despite me wiping the brush. This also never seems to dry and after my first use it was still sticky and gooey three hours later from only two coats and most of it peeled off, my nails ended up looking like they were covered in melted cheddar cheese. The shade Orange Fix is the only one that I have that is actually decent. It's a lovely bright orange colour and has a thin formula, unlike the previous two shades I own. It takes me two coats to build it up to a solid colour as it applies quite sheer. Orange Fix applies smoothly and I've never had any problems with it drying, chipping or going gooey. Orange Fix is the only one that I would purchase again.

Tips: If your polish is thick like mine are, add a bit of nail polish thinner to make it easier to work with.
