L'Oreal Paris False Lash Butterfly Wings Intenza Mascara Black Review

Through positive comments on Battle of the Brands, I decided to give this mascara a go. The brush was not what I expected with the short and the long bristles so I just went with it. At first I couldn't work with it. My lashes were clumping and I tried to separate them and not realising that it did not dry quickly so I just ended up making a mess. Not one to give up and not wanting to waste my money I tried again the next day and as I kept using it I got better at it. I have a good set of lashes and I found when I was able to master the technique it actually curled them when it dried. Stays on all day and removes easily with my Za oily cleanser. After days of persisting I now love using this mascara and would buy it again for the good price it is.

Butterfly. Intense. Daring. Precision. Black. Noir. Super.

These are just some words I'd describe this mascara with. I'm a Rimmel girl, but this has blown me away.

I was quite keen on trying another mascara when my Rimmel one died, RIP - wee hunnie and I was positively surprised with this one, even if the reviews weren't the overall best.

The packaging is plastic and it looks and feels cheap. Tacky, almost. But despite me having issues with the packaging, what is important is the contents.

Now, here's the interesting part. The brush is shaped in such a way that it elongates the outer part of your lashes, so that it looks like falsies, or butterfly wings. The brush is plastic too, and in my opinion, they could've really improved on that, but other than the material I quite like the brush. If you flip it over, there's very short "bristles" you can use for your lower lashes.

It's a nice concept that they did and I really like it. If you are unsure of how to use the brush, there's a youtube video explaining it.

The formula - I was really happy with the formula until the other day when a whole clump was on the brush and I couldn't get it off and it made my lashes stick together, but since then it's been perfect again.

If you use the brush correctly, the formula doesn't clump (the previous statement was a once-off event) your lashes, but elongates them into beautiful false-lash like lashes. If that makes any sense.

It stays on a long time, and I'm not sure if it's waterproof but it certainly has that effect. You also won't end up with panda eyes after four hours.

I am really happy with it, I probably won't buy it again soon because as I said, I am a Rimmel girl and I will always prefer that over anything else I buy.

I bought this in the waterproof formula as I tend to have oily eyelids, and I honestly didn't like it that much. The wand was great, I'm definitely a fan of the shape of it. I felt like it made my lashes flare out on the outer corner but that's about all it did, I don't think I got very much length or volume from it and I feel like I used it up really fast, my mascaras tend to last me ages but this one only lasted a few weeks at the most.

This mascara is everything it says it does. The wing brush targets the outer lashes creating a nice flared look. It does not clump and creates length in the lashes. I generally use maybelline mascaras as they are cheaper, but this mascara is around the same price. The mascara liquid is a wet liquid and doesn't dry out quick like some mascaras can, and you can go over the top once applied and it doesn't create clumps or make your eye lashes stick together. I thoroughly recommend this.

Now, I am about anything that creates a false lash look I mean it saves me time and effort of applying fake lashes or going through the grueling process of getting extensions. This Mascara does create that look , but personally was a little to thick and bold for my liking . I found my lashes clumped together and did not grow in length . I Think this mascara would be great for somebody wanting to achieve that bold thick look, but it just didn't do it for me :(

Ok, so I got this product as my mother recommended it.

My first impression was that it was an amazing mascara! Makes my lashes long, and spread out evenly. The brush is really good as I personally prefer rubber brushes.

Although I was blessed with quiet long eyelashes, I found this worked well on both long and short lashes (my mums are so short). The smell, not the nicest - but what mascara does smell good!

The thing that disappointed me about this mascara was how fast it dried up. I never 'pump' my mascara wand, so I don't know why it did dry so quickly.

I went to buy it again but the packaging has shrunk!! Not too happy about that so that's why I wouldn't use it again. But a pretty good mascara through and through.

I was super excited to try this mascara as it looked amazing on the TV Add (yes I am a a sucker lol) and was hoping it would make my lashes super long.

It comes with a lid on it, and you put the brush in once you open the packet. I guess this is to keep the product fresher.

It is beautifully packaged and is very pretty.

The brush is like nothing I have ever seen before its asymmetrical (you need to google it).

The actual product is a nice consistency, not too thick or wet. Nice and black too. It also has a pleasant smell.

It is a little awkward to apply due to the strange brush.

So the finished result of the mascara. I must say I had high expectations, and this product did not reach those.

It definitely made my lashes longer but gave waaay too much volume. You have to be very careful not to apply too much or your lashes end up looking like butterfly LEGS lol.

I don't think I would buy this again as there are other mascaras that do a much better job.

I must have gotten a dud version of this product, because this mascara didn't deliver anything special or as well as the other reviewers found it. Very average mascara, wouldn't buy it again. Don't waste your money on this, there are plenty of other great mascaras out there.

I love this loreal mascara. I have long lashes so it works really well for me and I can achieve the butterfly style lashes just like the ads.

One thing i have to note is that when i first purchased this mascara it seemed very wet. Loads of product was coming out on the brush and it was just messy so I put it aside for a month or so.

When I went back to use it again it had dried up just enough to be usable and went on so flawlessly. Zero complaints after letting it dry up a bit

I bought this mascara as had heard so much about it and wanted to see if it did what it says it should. To start off with, the brush takes a little getting used to, found it quite hard to use at first but once I had the hang of it, my lashes did look longer and fuller. It does tend to get a little clumpy so have to be careful how much you apply. My top eye lashes do look longer and fuller and yes like butterfly wings, looks fantastic when going out at night. I found it wasn't so good on the bottom lashes though, maybe because they are shorter but it tended to clump a little more.
