Loreal Sugar Glow Scrub

First imlression of the sugar scrub is that it smells divine! Comes very well presented in a lovely box , I did find it very harsh rubbing it on my skin and found it hard to spread around my face. It took a few goes at washing it off and it left a film on my skin but my skin felt lovely and soft. I would probably only use it once of twice a week and would only purchase it while on special as it's quote costly for what it does.

Nice and soft but no glow for me

It is interesting reading other reviews on this product, as the results are quite variant. I wish my experience was a bit more positive.

Yes, the packaging looks great!

On opening the bottle, I personally found the aroma a little overwhelming and the colour a little off putting. Though, I was determined to give the product a good hearing....

I have been using the scrub three times a week, in the morning before my shower. It is easy to use, apply to dry face with dry fingers, dampen fingers with warm water and massage in. I rinsed off in the shower.

When massaging the scrub into your face, you are left with a brown/orange face, which washes off easily. The feel of the product is smooth and feels great as you massage.

My face definitely felt soft after using, but unfortunately lacked the glow that I was hoping for

I guess not all products are made for all skin types and recommend you try the product yourself to find out whether it is one for you or not!

It's a no-glow for me

I chose the Glow Scrub because I loved the description of the brightening ingredients – ‘grapeseed oil to illuminate the skin’ sounds too good to pass up right?!

The packaging is nice with the usual L’Oreal square glass jar – easy to grip with wet hands, and clear so you can see how much product you have left. It took me a while to find, but you can also peel the label on the back of the jar to reveal the instructions.

The scrub contains 3 fine sugars to exfoliate, described as brown blonde and white – I’ve never heard sugar described like that before and I’m not sure whether they act differently on the skin or not. I still haven’t been able to nail down the scent, it’s almost like caramel but with the grapeseed oil scent it’s sort of citrusy. The product itself is really thick, and you only need a small amount.

The instructions say to apply to dry skin and then wet fingertips for a small amount of water. There was lots of trial and error for me to get the right balance; using the scrub without water feels really tacky and pulls at the skin, too much water and the sugar dissolves straight away and doesn’t feel like there’s any exfoliating action happening.

I really wanted to like this product, but it just doesn’t tick many boxes for me. After using it several different ways I am on the fence. My skin feels soft after using it, but I haven’t noticed any change in appearance – definitely no glow!

Tips: Play with the balance of water to get the right feel for you.

L'Oréal Paris Sugar Scrubs Glow Face Scrub

I love the packaging, it was easy to read and understand and easy to get into, the scrub itself smelt very nice. I use a scrub just before a shower so I found it a bit of a pain to have to clean my face dry it then use this first but it was a good product, made my skin feel really soft, but I did not get a refined skin texture or brighter complextion...

L'oreal Sugar Glow - Leaves a Slight Film But Okay

I'm all about the glow and love using brightening products. So when these came out as top rated and were on sale I had to try this one. The scrub is thick and fairly concentrated which is good. I'm not into scrubs that are mostly watery or creamy and don't have much in terms of physical exfoliants. It smells like caramel with a hint of citrus. The natural ingredients in this scrub is rosemary extract, glycerin, gardenia flower, olive pulp powder, sunflower seed oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil and interestingly capsicum. I find the sugar a bit coarse but when you add water the sugar grains start to dissolve a bit. I buff my face a bit with scrub while enjoy the caramel scent and then rinse it off. Now I find I'm left with a bit of a film which I don't really like because, the skincare I apply after I wash my face is water based. However, this is fixed by following it with a gel cleanser. After I use this scrub my skin is soft and smooth but not glowing like the name suggests. I've tried polishing my face with this twice a week and I've seen better results from a couple other manual/chemical exfoliators so this isn't my top pick for glow but it's okay. The jar it comes it looks good but it's a bit deceptive in terms of how much product is in. I didn't have any breakouts using this and it wasn't too harsh on my skin if I only used it a couple times a week. I probably won't repurchase this.

Tips: If you don't like the oily film left from the scrub then follow up with a gel cleanser. I like to use this in the shower after I use an emulsifying oil cleanser and before using a gel cleanser.
