Perfect Results

So easy to use and such a GREAT idea thank you Loreal! It smells great and is such a good value for money option and if you use it correctly the results look amazing! I have used this 3 times now and would definitely recommend this to others. Its a great way to gradually build up your desired ombre look and would even recommend this to amateurs its so easy and fun to use.

Tips: I left mine in for a little longer as I have quite thick hair, the results were awesome :)

ombre hair dye

i had a great experience with this product it was amazing the instructions were really easy to follow but because my hair goes down to my waste there was simply not enogh i needed to get two to ombre my hair if your hair is short one should be enough and the colour is a brownish blonde colour

Tips: if you have long hair i recommend you get two because this is not enough

Ombre worked like a charm!

I have one of those really thick, curly hair going on and initially I wasn't too sure if I would actually have the right colours coming out. With the help of my first-time-colouring partner, my results were fantastic. My hair colour looked just like the one on the box!

Tips: make sure that you are timing when applying. We were watching netflix and got distracted but with the right timing, the results would be fab!

So easy and effective

Okay first of all I'll start off by saying that I LOVE this hair dye. I was quite sceptical about it working for me and very nervous to try it out but now that I've done it, I already want to stock up on more for later use.

In the kit you get the developer cream, a lightening powder a lightening cream, a shampoo, a pair of gloves, instructions and of course the amazing application brush. I got the colour no2 which is for dark blonde to medium brown hair (my hair is dark brown-black but I deliberately went for something for lighter hair so that my ombre could look subtle).

I started off by sectioning my hair. I pulled all my hair from my ears up and tied it at the top of my head so that I could get an even application on the bottom layer of my hair first. My hair is very long and I started my ombre from chin-height. The brush makes it super simple to create the ombrè effect. You just apply an even amount of dye onto the brush and literally brush it into your hair in small sections.

You get a really decent amount of product as well. My hair is very long and quite thick and I still didn't manage to use the full bottle.

I really recommend this product. I was so surprised at how easy it was and the colour was perfect!

Tips: I have a few tips :)

1. Brush the product onto the tips of your hair first so that the dye is on them for longer than the rest of the hair. This lightens the tips more so that the ombrè doesn't end up the same colour from beginning to end.

2. It's much easier to part your hair in the middle and work from both sides.

3. Don't apply the dye in a way which the colour is going to end up being a straight line across your head. Start at slightly varying points so that it looks blended. With each section of hair I done, I made the starting point about 2cm different to the sections on either side of it. No two sections next to each other started at the same length.

4. Keep checking the colour while your waiting for it to process so that your hair doesn't go too light or you don't wash it off too early and have hardly any change.

5. Have fun with it :)

Loreal Paris Ombre

The instructions were clear and ease to understand.

The gloves were thick and sturdy which I liked as I have never used bleach before and was happy to know that the gloves wouldn't break and get bleach on my hands.

The process of putting together the ingredients was easy but the instructions stated that you shouldn't shake the application bottle too long as it may burst which had me worried as the instructions didn't actually state for how long to shake/rotate the bottle. I rotated and shook the bottle vigorously for only 30 seconds then unscrewed the lid straight away as per instructions.

Application of this product to my hair was very easy and non messy. The application brush was super easy to use and it didn't spill. My Hair didn't lighten as much as I thought it would have after the stated 25 minutes so I applied more and wrapped it in tin foil as I had been told that wrapping it in tin foil would add heat to the bleach which in turn helps to activate the bleach faster. The smell wasn't too over powering but I did get a few potent whiffs that made my eyes tear up so I made sure I had the windows open. I waited a further 15 minutes as the instructions stated to not leave the product in for more than 45 minutes and then washed it out.

the small bottle of shampoo/conditioner that came with it smelt delicious. I only needed a small amount therefore the bottle may last for up to three applications of washing. My hair actually felt very coarse and knotty afterwards so I ended up using some of my own conditioner as well. The bleach was easy to was out though and the next day my hair was very soft and shiny.

AFTERTHOUGHTS:My hair didn't lighten as much as I was hoping but I am defiantly NOT disappointed though, I love the new shades throughout my hair and am actually happy that it didn't turn blonde which I think had a lot to do with the fact that I have dyed my hair red for many years now so my Ombre colour has actually turned into a pinky/orange with tiny blonde streaks. I have received loads of positive comments on my hair and will and have recommended this product.

Tips: This product could be an easy way to put highlights/streaks throughout your hair. I will be purchasing it again at some stage to trial that out :) oh and remember to take off all your jewelery as my earings are wrecked from the bleach :-(

L'Oreal Paris Wild Ombre Shade 2 Brown to Blonde

First of all I was so glad I was chosen for this review - totally excited.

The packaging is great, bright and informative. The pack consisted of an Expert Brush, Activating Powder, Developer creme + Applicator, Lightening Creme, Conditioning Shampoo and Gloves. The instructions were real easy to follow, clear and precise. The Expert Brush is brilliant I have saved it for the next time I want to Ombre, it would be great to add highlights in your hair as well. The only thing that I would do different is to actually watch the "How To" video's which I didn't do this time round. I had trouble getting the right angle of the brush to get that effect. A bit more practise to become an expert I think. Once I finished applying the product I waited the whole 45mins to develop. The colour did not come out as blonde as the picture on the box due to the fact that I have dark hair. Some of the tips of my hair were coloured and some of the tips weren't but I think that boils down to how I applied the colour to my hair. The colour has turned my hair into a browny colour instead of the blonde. It still looks great as your can see where I have attempted to define the 2 colours from the black top of my head to the brown colour. I may need to go even lighter? So far I have had positive feedback from people around me. I definitely would recommend this product to a friend and also use the product again. I would also like to have an Ombre look done by an expert (Salon) just to see the effect. Home jobs are still great to do especially when you can't afford to go to a Salon.

Tips: When using this product make sure there is plenty of ventilation because I found it pretty strong while I was applying it to my hair. Also I found the gloves a bit small and teared it to pieces when trying to put them on. Sometimes "one size fits all" does not fit - I used my own gloves in the end.

L'oreal Paris Wild Ombres Preference

The box the hair colour cam in is attractive with photos showing what can be achieved with the lightening hair colour. There were clear instructions inside the box to follow. These stated exactly what to do and it was very easy to assemble the colour in the bottle. Instructions were given on how long to leave the cream on depending on how light you wanted to go. The gloves were quite tight, I have average sized hands but if I had larger hands this would be a problem with fitting. The cream had a nice pleasant smell when applying and it was easy to apply with the brush. After washing my hair of the cream when applying the shampoo/conditioner it was very soothing. If left the cream on for 30 minutes and I had a honey colour effect which I was wanting. I was very happy with the outcome and would most definitely use this product again.

Tips: Just to follow the instructions exactly on time to leave the cream on the hair for the desired effect you are wanting.

L'Oréal Paris Préférence Wild Ombré Shade 2 Brown

Ok, so I had completely forgotten about this trial and had dyed my hair. Whoops. But in saying that, I done my mum's hair first as hers is a light brown / dark blonde colour and this product was amazing! Gave her a natural looking effect that just made her hair look sun bleached! Also the shampoo was nice on her hair. Now, because there was still over half a bottle left of the dye, we decided to put some in my hair. Which, of course, went ginger. Lol. It was expected. But, in saying that, the ginger it went goes well with the hair. I left mine in for 45mins and reapplied it at the 25min mark, and my mum left hers in for 25mins, with no reapplication. I think that maybe if I done this when my hair hadn't been dyed, it would have worked well. In all, I would use this again and so would my mum. Thanks for the awesome trial ladies!

Tips: Protect your clothes with a towel or wear something old!

Do it yourself L'oreal Paris Preference Wild Ombre

I love the L'Oreal Paris Preference Wild Ombre shade 2 brown to blonde because of its easy application and great results. While my hair didn't turn out as light as I would have hoped, it did provide a natural look to the lightening of my hair. Unfortunately I did this by myself and realized too late how great it would have been to have someone else do the back sections for me because though the application was simple in theory it was quite difficult to spread it evenly on the hair which you couldn't properly see. So I recommend using a mirror or having a friend to apply it for you. I did have one other problem with the application process because I found that while continuing to apply the mixture to other areas my hair began to clump which made it difficult to firstly, tell if I had applied it evenly and secondly to apply extra to the area it became extremely knotty. Despite these small problems I would definitely use this product again because it does have fantastic results.

Tips: Tip 1: Have a friend that you trust to do it for you or have an extra mirror on hand so that you can see that back of your hair. This is because making sure the back is done as well as the front can be quite difficult. Tip 2: Make sure that you brush you hair thoroughly before you begin because the brush provided does not act as an actual hairbrush and it will be difficult to apply the die if your hair is knotty.(obviously for those with curly hair would need to straighten their hair before using the ombre die just to make things easier and so that the die spreads evenly.) Tip 3: As with most dyes if you are sensitive to strong smells I recommend applying the dye either outside or near a window in case the smell becomes too overpowering for you. Tip 4: I found that while applying the dye with the brush provided a lot would still be left in the brush after I had brushed through a section. For this it is a good idea to slant the brush like / as it allows more of the mixture to come out. (At least that is what I found in my hair.)
