L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Conditioning Spray Review

I really did not like this product! I applied this to clean damp hair and then began styling it as usual. I like to blow wave my hair after washing it and after applying this product my hair felt rather waxy while trying to blow it out. Then for the next two days my hair was extremely static. I also noticed on day two my hair looked and felt greasy and my hair colour (violet) turned very dull and unappealing. I am not happy or impressed with this product

i was a little dubious before trying this but i actually really like it. it won't make any massive difference to your hair but i like that i can put it on when i havent washed my hair for a day or two and not only will it make my hair smell amazing but it doesn't make it feel oily and stops it from getting too tangled. i'm a fan!

I was excited to use this spray as it claims to keep coloured hair vibrant and tangle free, having super thick curly hair I’m always on the outlook for a product to it curly rather than a tangled mess resemble a bird’s nest.

The good points: Its design is simple and bold with its shiny red bottle and lid; it’s not too un-attractive to have on your bathroom vanity. It has a mild aroma to it when sprayed but nothing overpowering. Upheld its promise of tangle free hair, no knots were experienced during my time of using it, as a note I used this after every wash daily.

The bad points: It didn’t provide much more than detangling my hair. The colour seemed to be fading at its normal rate I’ve actually noticed my roots a bit more over the last couple of days and I’m still over a fortnight away from getting my touch ups done, so it’s not a good sign from the range. My curls dropped, after spraying I popped in my normal hair cream which keeps my curls bouncy and in place all day, however after using this spray for a couple of days it seemed to drag on them and as a result I was left with poorly looking curls that gathered as frizz at the ends. Yes I could run my fingers through my hair at the end of the day but I have had a bit of an issue with frizz over the last week and I know it’s not been caused by the weather!

Overall this is good as a detangler but as a colour protection treatment or to add moisture it’s not really meeting its promises. It adds nothing to my hair that my normal shampoo/conditioner routine doesn’t already. This may be different on ladies who don’t have as thick hair as myself though?

So this product promises to "Prolong Colour" and to "Condition and Detangle" hair. I personally think that it only meets one of these claims.

When I was selected for this trail, I was super excited! Very rarely do I ever purchase anything more than shampoo and conditioner for my hair. As a Mum of three boys, I never have the time to use them! But I loved how quick and easy this was. Just spray it on damp hair and you're sorted.

The bottle itself is decent sized for the price and a little product seems to go a long way. I have shoulder length hair so obviously if yours is longer, you'd use more.

The spray itself, smells really nice! It detangled my hair great - goodbye knots! And it made my hair so soft. I couldn't stop running my fingers through it ;) As for prolonging the colour, I'm not 100% convinced. I don't feel like it made any difference at all! It didn't look more vibrant and it was still fading like it normally does.

Overall, I think I'd still purchase this product because of how easy it is to use and the fact it made my hair so soft. But as for the claims of being a colour-protect spray, I'd have to disagree.

The smell of this product is amazing! the smell seems to stay in my hair longer than other products. The only other thing that I am impressed by in this product is how amazing it is at detangling my hair, cuts my normal brushing time in half! I will defiantly be purchasing this again, but only for the detangling part of it. I am unsure on whether it helped with prolonging my hair colour, my hair just faded as per normal.

VSorry for jumping the gun but yes it has turned up in the mail i thought i had to write the review before it turned up.ive been using it for about a week now and it has a pleasant smell not to potant its not sticky on your hands which is good.its easier to comb the hair my hair is long its lasting good and its easier to spray in after your shower .would i buy this product yeah maybe its more of a luxary to me then a nessesity.all in all it does do some of what it states in it detangles its ultra fine spray good and lightweight and smells nice to.

This really works, it gently detangles your hair and provides effective conditioning while making your hair really shiny. It's so lightweight and you won't have issues with product build up. It's particularly good for dry ends and it smells lovely.

I love this product, it smells devine, makes my hair soft and shiny and makes my colour more vibrant! I used it after washing my hair and when it was dry and needed a spruce up, I loved the results from both ways! When this runs out I'm definitely purchasing again!

The idea of this spray really appealed to me - my hair can be quite dry and the colour drops out of it relatively fast so I was looking forward to seeing of this would work for me. It smells great, sprays on easily and the nozzle doesn't get clogged. Big tick there! The first time I tried it, I used it on dry hair to give it a spruce up without having to wash or wet it so I can style it. I have to wash or wet my hair every day so was looking forward to maybe finding a product that would save me from doing this. Unfortunately, it just made my hair greasy and flat. Next, I tried spraying it on washed hair and after drying it, found similar results. Lastly, I found something that did work for me. I use it in the shower as a spray on conditioner and wash it out. All is not lost!

It smells great and it's a very lightweight formula. I used it on my hair after I washed it, then let my hair air dry like usual. I was expecting it to make my hair greasy like every other hair product I've tried, but I was pleasantly surprised! I brushed my hair when it had almost dried, and my hairbrush went through my hair soooo easy! my hair had no knots at all which I LOVE because I was getting sick of the knots and was going to get my long hair cut off! It made my hair really soft, especially the ends which are damaged/split and it kept my hair tangle free even after going out in bad windy weather, which usually makes my hair horrible! I feel like my colour has stayed more vibrant while using this spray and my hair is definitely shiner and smoother for longer. I wash my hair less often than most people to make my bright red last longer and this spray helped a lot between washes. This spray didn't make my hair greasy or heavy at all, even when using it daily between washes.

I will definitely be buying this product again. The price seems affordable since I only need a few sprays on my hair, so it should last a while!
