Instyler Ceramic Styling Shells Create any size curls in any length of hair with the InStyler Ceramic Styling Shells. Wrap a length of hair into any size curl and clip with the ceramic shells which surround the hair and evenly distribute the heat giving soft curls with no damage.

The traditional process of creating pin curls using clips, pins and a hairdryer is tedious, but the result is beautiful, soft romantic waves. The easier and faster way to get any size curls on any length hair is the new InStyler Ceramic Styling Shells. The ceramic tourmaline gives gentle and even heat which evenly cools and naturally sets your hair giving you healthy, bouncy curls that last.

Instyler Ceramic Styling Shells Review

I have already straight hair. I tried these without hair spray or anything and got a few nice curls but others didn't work but you need to make sure you apply the C shells the right way or the hair gets crushed the same way I applied them without a mirror in front of me so that probably didn't help. My hair definitely requires lots of hair spray and product to hold the style. The heat is alot lower than other heat utensils and even though I was putting the C shells close to my fingers and doing it without looking I honestly didn't burn myself so it's probably safer than other stylers aswell. This also gets points for being super fast it came with lots of clips and extras so that when you ran out of the ones on the stand you could replace them as you go. You have more freedom than a curling iron too because like hot rollers your not having to stand there with the curling tool waiting for it to do its thing and the plug is attached to the stand not the C shells. You might need to use more hair spray and products if your hair usually requires alot of heat to set waves and curls. When I brushed out the style it looked messy not like the ladies on the TV but i think it's a case of practice makes perfect and the requirement of either higher heat or more styling / hair sprays as my hair is naturally straight. I'll have to try this again. It comes with these orange clip things aswell to help you make different types of waves. The styling unit isn't good for travel though as it's bigger. Will update review as I use more often.

Would Not Recommend For Thick & Frizzy Hair

I have come to accept most things about myself but my hair is one thing I can't settle for, so I purchased this after watching the advert when it first came out a couple of years ago. I have long, thick, frizzy hair and the luscious waves in the advert sold me on it.

The ceramic shells are not meant to damage your hair. And the shells themselves and the technique looked easy enough to use. The shells are on the heated stand (which you plug in), after 5 minutes of heating they are ready to use. You curl sections of your hair and apply a shell to each section. Once cooled (hair should be set), you remove the shells and you are supposed to have picture perfect curls or waves.

This didn't happen for me. I used this a few times and never got that result. The only thing I can think of is that this styling tool is not made for thick frizzy hair (I don't think the length had anything to do with this result)

Once I realised this wasn't going to work for me I gave it away as it was of no use. I think this may be more suitable to those with fine/thin straight hair. You may get a better result.
