Garnier Hair Food Shampoo Bar - Banana

I love using shampoo bars as they are just so good and with no plastic which has to be a good thing. The Banana scent does not work for me and to be honest I am not keen on smelling like food but the shampoo itself is really good. I find I need two shampoos to get a really good lather and my hair feels so good afterwards,so clean and soft .The bar is long lasting and is so easy to pack if you are traveling -no leaky bottles which is great.I will buy this brand again but just not in this flavour and the only reason I marked it down was the scent.

Lasting up to the equivalent of up to 2 x 250ml bottles - I haven't tested the long lasting theory yet but for Christmas I got a bar of this. This is my first Shampoo bar and I have been a fan of the Garnier hair food line for years but this is the first time I tried the solid shampoo bars. Package was fragrant from the box I could smell it. Packaged in a card board box labeled similarly to the regular bottled shampoo. When I opened to use it I was surprised. I thought it would be a square or rectangle as the box shape is quite square but I could see it was a round shape. Once fully out the box it was actually like a strange tear drop shape. Colour was a off brownish yellow the scent I smelt is mostly coconutty not really much banana. The bottle version smells different to the solid bar. I had some oily roots but dry ends so I foamed it in my hands it lathered fine and later increased once my hair was very wet I almost done my hair twice as I felt I had missed the back of my scalp I was concentrating on washing my roots only. I skipped conditioner to check the shampoo bar results alone. Next day hair is a bit fluffy and volumed as I went to bed with it wet and didn't brush it the scent I don't really detect. Using my fingers to comb it is untangling easily this could be as there might be residue from the conditioning bar which I actually tried the shower before this one or it may just be the shampoo bar itself / that I used on my roots only. My ends are still a bit dry as expected but my hair does not feel like straw or dehydrated it's soft and clean. I will keep using this but I won't buy it in this particular scent it's not unpleasant just not my preference and does not perfume my hair like the bottle versions can. The scent and physical appearance is the only reason I marked it down. One other thing I did notice is after it has gone foamy in the hair if you take your time the foam disappears like absorbs or something. This is something I have encountered alot with regular shampoos or 2 in 1s before so it's no biggie just something to be aware of. I am definitely interested in trying other scents from the brand and other shampoo bars I have noticed price hikes in hair care at the supermarkets so I look for when it's on promotion or I will use my beauty points to try the aloe and watermelon types. The weight is 60grams but once it is out of the box it seems big. I think if this does last longer than bottle shampoos it is value for money but it depends how much you usually spend on them.
