doesnt do what it said it would

i wish i checked reviews before buying, i have oily roots & damaged/dry ends so i decided to try. it left my hair limp and gross afterwards and i cant even use the conditioner to shave because its so thin. I checked the ingredients and they said it contained fragrance/perfumes and that is not something i would look for in a shampoo for damaged or dry hair. It doesnt even smell that good.

Coconut

I like that the bottles are one up one down so once you have managed to read all the small writing it gives you an easy way to remember which is which with out having to look.

They smell great and lathered up well but even after finishing the products I didn’t find that they made much difference to my hair.

Glad I tried them when they were on sale.

i wouldn't call this a holy grail...yet

thanks to beauty review for sending me this product. in the 10 day trial time, i have used it twice. i was so excited to try this because i recently went to the hairdresser and she said i have oily roots. so this product was made for me LoL.

first off, garner fructis always delivers a lovely botanical fragrance. paragon free, silicone free...GREAT (now they just need to get rid of the sulphate).

this shampoo and conditioner allowed me to go four good days before having to wash again. five would be pushing it. i can usually go three days...so the more days between each wash is great! the other thing to note is that i don't get overly hot or sweaty from exercise on my head, so that may impact on the period between washes.

i will end by saying i will continue to use this shampoo and conditioner...to continue trial it, as 10 days just wasn't enough time

Shampoo Yes, Conditioner maybe yes.

I have a few thoughts on the two together. I definitely enjoyed the two products but wouldn't say I'd go out of my way to purchase this again as there are other shampoos I'd definitely go for instead. I also don't think the two are equally as good. I don't really see anything special about the conditioner but that it's silicone and paraben free which is really nice. I definitely prefer the shampoo over the conditioner as I do have quite oily hair and my hair did feel clean straight after and the day after I washed it. I would probably only purchase the shampoo again to be quite honest, as I don't think using the conditioner with the shampoo did much with helping my hair feel smoother or silkier than any other conditioner would.

Tips: Probably would only get the shampoo, conditioner was just standard except that it's an affordable paraben/silicone free conditioner.

Au Fait with Garnier?

Garnier is manufactured by Loreal. It used to be made in France but is now made in India so the French name's now somewhat obscure...

I thought the colour of the packaging was nice but the blue writing difficult to read... It didn't smell like coconut at all seemed like a watermelon smell, I didn't really like the smell.

The shampoo did make my scalp less oily but I got a bit of dandruff after using it and so did the rest of the family I put it down to the chemicals as it does have a lot of chemicals in. Which is probably due to it being a cheap supermarket shampoo and conditioner. The conditioner did make my ends nice and shiny and smoother. I think though that nothing beats an organic natural shampoo and it's worth the money. You get what you pay for. I liked the silicon and parable free ingredients, not many people know but silicon coats the hair to make it shiny so is like plastic coating your hair. Overall the shampoo did cleanse well and made my scalp less oily and the conditioner did make the ends of my hair smoother and shinier, but I felt like I'd had a harsh chemical wash it didn't feel natural or healthy on my skin

Tips: I found the longer the conditioner was left on the healthier the ends looked. And only apply the conditioner to mid lengths and ends

Smells Great

As a combo this was something I really wanted to try. My hair is oily at the roots and dry through the length, so this promised to work for that. I like the bright packaging, it's refreshing. The scent is nice without being overpowering. I find some products give me a headache, but this was a light, fresh scent.

I wasn't sold on the shampoo, I just felt that it wasn't able to clean my hair when it was oilier, but if there isn't a lot of build up then I will use it. The conditioner felt like it worked well, hydrating the ends without dragging down the roots, so I think I will repurchase that.

New garnier shampoo and conditioner hair products

I found that although the shampoo from this brand is sulphate free, it does have a very closely related ingredient that resembles sulfates and does basically just the same damage to the hair. To me this is a bit of a trick to make you think you will get healthy hair but the "sister sulfate additive" as i will call it defeats the purpose of using a sulfate free shampoo in my opinion. I also learned more about silicones in conditioners and the benifits of using a conditioner without silicone or dimenthicone. I really quite like the scent of the conditioner it was unexpected and the first conditioner I have ever come accross that smells very different to its matching shampoo. Performance wise based on the results so far and research I think long term use or a longer trial could show the full potential/favouable results of the conditioner. I think if you have damaged hair and have been using a conditioning product with a silicone in it, the initial results you might not like from the silicone free conditioner because it does not give your hair the artificial shine and as much of a very smooth and slippery when wet feeling that a silicone based conditioner does. Long story short, silicone products can hide alot of damage but long term they buld up make hair more damaged and dry. Using a silicone free product can help your hair show its natural shine but initially may reveal you true hair condition which maybe un desirable looking hair. The coconut water in this product is a tough thing to consider as looking back to when checked coconut oil out for hair I found it has pros and cons. Particularly if you colour your hair or already have quite dry porus hair it can be a not a good idea to use it. Bearing in mind that coconut oil & coconut water are not the same but can be just as effective. Coconut water can help treat hairloss promote growth/thickness hydrate and balance skin for a healthy scalp, provide nutrition to hair follicles and has antibacterial properties. This made the product ideal for me as I want to grow & thicken my hair the dye fading of my red coloured hair was not too bad following shampooing. The main thing was my oily roots and dry ends. To be honest in that area I didn't notice much differences the shampoo washed out the oily roots like a normal shampoo would. If I used too much conditioner/didnt rinse it I could feel the residue and my conditioned aread of hair felt oily. Otherwise once I got the hang of correct product ratios to use my hair ends were light and fluffy with fly aways that settled down later. Given everything said. I am interested to see how this product goes on others who use it for a longer trial period or long term. I am keen to keep trying from this line the conditioners specifically. Extra Points for no parabens and packaged caring for the environment.

Tips: Give it a chance. Do your research. Consider less is more.

How They Work Together

This new duo from Garnier is paraben and silicone free, with a combination of fruit and vitamins. Garnier claims this duo will deliver healthier, stronger hair. The combination if coconut water and purifying agents is said to rebalance and clean the scalp and cleanse and hydrate the ends. The product is targeted at oily roots and dry ends.

The shampoo and conditioner don't feel quite as natural as they are marketed to be, there is a distinct chemical fragrance and the feel the same as most other shampoos and conditioners. Given the emphasis on coconut water, I expected them to be more like clear liquid and coconut scented.

In terms of performance, the shampoo lives up to its end of the bargain, doing a good job of washing away the oily roots for a few days. The conditioner is less impressive in hydrating dry ends. I would still use a serum and a deep conditioning treatment. However, this duo plus those treatments can have the same type of result as a far more expensive hair care system, so this is still a great affordable option.

The area where I felt Garnier let consumers down the most was with their Terracycle scheme. On their bottles they encourage consumers to sign up for their Terracycle scheme and make a difference to how many products are thrown in the landfill. It is a great idea and the link is provided for both New Zealand and Australia. However while the Australian link works, the New Zealand link simply says to come back in 2018. Fortunately, as the bottles are made of PET, they can be recycled in New Zealand through your weekly recycling collection.

All in all, the product is affordable and good for oily roots, but dry hair. However to deal with those dry ends you need something like a serum. But even with having to buy a serum, it can be a much more affordable hair care system than some others that have similar results.

Tips: Recycle the bottle when your done and buy a serum or deep conditioning treatment for your dry ends.

Shampoo and conditioner

This range is paraben and silicone free, which is great for the hair. I love the vibrant green packaging , and that it is eco-friendly. It also snaps tightly closed, so you don't have to worry about product leakage, but it also opens easily enough in the shower.

Both products are quite fruity-scented, which is nice, but I was quite excited for a coconut scent, considering it advertises coconut water. The shampoo lathers well, and rinses out well too. The conditioner also applies easily and rinses out well. However, the range wasn't as great as expected. I felt that my roots were less oily, but my ends weren't super nourished. I still had to apply serum or oil in order to have nourished, smooth, sleek hair.

Overall, while this range wasn't outstanding, it did the job and was ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to get this range, but if I desperately needed something, I would get this.
