L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Smooth Intense Shampoo Review

The shampoo was nice. The smell wasn't too overpowering, I get allergic to a lot of smells in products but this was was fine. It left my hair lovely and soft and smooth. The only thing was, I have little fizzy bits of hair where my part is and it didn't smoth them at all. I would use it again

L'Oreal Elvive smooth-intense shampoo states: unruly and dry hair is difficult to smooth and tame. After smoothing it is still prone to frizz. 1)It is enriched with Aryan oil an ingredient naturally rich in essential fatty acids, the formula nourishes hair calms frizz.smoothing hair from the root.

It did make my hair soft and frizz free but frizz free for only about half a day.

2)48hr*protection The formula acts as a shield, protecting your hair from frizz and fly away even in humid weather. The thermo-protecting agent protects the hair from heat of blow drying and styling tools.

I still had fly away but noticeably reduced. All in all I would properly use it again it is a fair product for the price.

I've recently been gifted this set of shampoo and conditioner and immediately thought "well if I don't like it I'll give it to my nieces" I'll be keeping this. In general I only use Sorbet or Salon brands but I'm not about to turn down the offer of something that was gifted as it could turn out to be the next amazing find! On first glance the packaging is pretty blah - it's orange, and that's not a colour that graces my life very often, the bottles are nicely shaped and easily held in your hand. The flip tops are easy to open one handed in the shower too, I always like that. The shampoo comes out a translucent orange colour and is easy to get out of the bottle. I have short hair, so only need a small amount - it's quite economical. It's easy to lather up and wash out.

There was a definite difference to the texture of my hair - usually after using supermarket shampoo my hair feels rough and straw like but this formula leaves my hair feeling pretty good. It does help reduce the frizz factor when used in conjunction with the matching conditioner and if I use a hair oil or serum it eliminates it altogether. Not sure about the 48 hour anti frizz claim, I think that's a bit hopeful, but it does make a difference to just washed hair. The smell - well, it's not for me. I don't know how to describe it but it smells little old ladyish to my nose.

If I was to run out of my normal shampoo and needed something in a hurry I would look at purchasing this, however I would not pay $9.00 per bottle for it. I imagine it often comes up on sale though.

This shampoo design of packaging is clearly from the Loreal Elvive range because they all look similar this would not be my first choice from the range because I really like the white bottle one as the scent sweeps me off my toes this one smells okay I have the conditioner aswell the scent is not strong its sort of like fejoia fruit I think. This bottle is a see through gel like formula its not pearly and creamy like others. A little goes a long way with the shampoo. I really like the idea of a thermal / humidity protection or whatever it claims to have on the packaging but as far as keeping my hair non frizzy without a serum or other products the product is not fantastic but it is not bad the results last far from 48 or even 24 hours with me I get fly aways later in the day at work but initially my hair looks nice and smooth I feel this shampoo could be suited to oily hair because it lathers well and the conditioner is light I will write a separate review about it. This product does not weigh your hair down so part of the claims are true but it does not seem to hydrate your hair much either I would use again but probabbly not buy for myself I like something richer and a stronger scent.

I love the thought of the smoothing, but unfortunately this didn't happen for me.

Perfect my hair was just too damaged for this formula?

It smells amazing. It lathers really well and rinses nice and clean.

Leaves my hair a bit stringy after rinsing though.

So this makes me think it's not moisturizing enough?

I won't purchase again. My Hair was left feeling really dry.

I was so excited to try this product. It smelt wonderful and the texture is really lovely. I loved the shampoo. It left no oily residue on my hair and would use again. The only downfall was that my hair seemed to get oilier faster than usual, which I was suprised about since it's not a creamy shampoo.

Had a great scent that wasn't rinsed away but for me that was the only difference it had to any other supermarket/ phatmacy shampoo.

I have very fine, curly hair that likes to "puff" up no matter the weather. Even after straightening, the puffiness remains, and I need to run an oil through my ends to get a completely smooth, silky result.

I did find that after using this shampoo, my hair was a lot smoother after straightening, but this may be because the shampoo hadn't completely cleansed my hair of excess oils - my roots still felt a fair bit oily straight after a fresh wash. I only skip one day between washes, and always use a dry shampoo on the in-between days, so it's not like there's a lot of oil build-up to get rid of. I wasn't particularly fond of the smell, either.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are fine for just getting the job done, and i'll be keeping them in my bathroom as back-ups, but after reading claims of anti-frizz, silky smooth gloriousness, I feel they just miss the mark.

First application I thought it smelt gorgeous, lathered up easily appeared to be doing what it said it would. I have really curly frizzy hair when it's in it's natural state and noticed my hair felt softer looked shinier and not so much frizz. This was short lived after using for a week and a half I noticed no change hair was back to normal. It doesn't stand out for me compared to any other supermarket shampoo. Will probably not purchase in the future.

My hair is long an thick so there is a lot of it to tame. I found the shampoo to be slightly smoothing but results didn't last long. However if I straightened my hair it would work wonders, smooth an shiney, and controlled! As it doesn't have a huge price tag on it id say it would be best suited to someone with straighter shorter hair.
