L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo

I was happy to be a part of the trial team to try out this shampoo but if I am honest, I was not really expecting much out of this. First time I tried it, I didn't really notice anything other than it had a nice smell and did what any other shampoo I've used would do, wash my hair. However, on the second time I used it (a couple of days afterwards) I noticed how soft and shiny my hair was. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. But it straightened beautifully and flat with a Remington straightner!! Why is this a big deal? It's a big deal because I have the typical Polynesian hair that is unruly and curly and hard to tame at the best of times. I was so happy with the results because I could only get it to go flat like that at the salon. This shampoo can work miracles, I am definitely buying this again.

This shampoo smells amazing and looks great in the packaging. the shampoo itself was very runny and it didn't last as long as my other shampoos.

I had to massage intensely into my hair to get any feeling of the shampoo actually working into a lather the first time, but after washing it out and applying another lot it did lather up well.

I went four days without washing my hair, I didn't even need to use dry shampoo until the 4th day. this is unheard of for my hair! I was very impressed. My hair remained smooth and glossy even after straightening! I have long, coloured, damaged hair from straightening and blow drying but unfortunately over the trial period I did not see a difference in my hair condition. might need to use for a longer period. It did however take away some frizzyness.

As a hairdresser by trade, I was rather interested in seeing what the supermarket brand shampoos are up to. I have been using Redken for about 7 years.

First I compared the ingredients between this shampoo and Redken Extreme. The first handful of ingredients were the same but then after, they were all different. Whether these smaller ingredients matter is up to you.

The shampoo its self is very watered down and thin, I can now understand why consumers say they go through a lot of shampoo! My Redken shampoo lasts me well over 6 months (I have hair below the shoulders).

I did however like the softness the shampoo gave to my hair. And it works very well in conjunction with Redken conditioner too. My hair still has the same strength to it as it did before but I did appreciate the added silkyness.

I found that it lathered up more than the salon shampoos. This is a trick the companies use as most people think that bubbles on your head mean that your hair is clean - it actually doesn't mean that at all.

The scent was lovely and it really made my hair feel soft but it did not make it feel stronger. And since I have blonde hair, there was no added shine (It's almost impossible to have shiny blonde hair as blonde does not reflect the light. That's why darker hair always looks shiner - it reflects the light.)

The first thing I noticed about the shampoo as I applied it was the lack of 'foam' that it created. I really had to massage this into my scalp/hair to get any feeling of the shampoo actually working into a lather.

I have long, damaged hair from straightening and blow drying and was looking forward to this making my hair healthier. Unfortunately over the trial period I did not see much difference in my hair condition at all.

I have been using this for a month now every day, my hair is damaged from bleach over the years. After a month my hair is fuller, it had much more body and is strong, less split ends. the smell is amazing, for a supermarket brand it would be a fav, not as good as a salon brand however

The smell is lovely and natural not too strong.

My hair is long, blonde and is objected to blowdrying and straightening on an almost daily basis. It was screaming out for this shampoo, which promises to repair damaged hair. I have always been a fan of the Loreal Professional range so I was intrigued as to how a more affordable option would perform. Previously, I had been washing my hair daily, or every second day and had always purchased supermarket shampoos, due to how quickly I go through it.

After using the Loreal Paris Elvive shampoo, I went four days without washing my hair. Truly. I never thought I would write those words, at least not until I was in hospital or was introduced to the world of motherhood. i didn't wash my hair for four days and it looked GOOD. It remained glossy, smooth and there was no oil in sight. I used a tiny spritz of dry shampoo on the fourth day, but I do believe it came down to the excellent job of the Loreal shampoo.

It was difficult not to wash my hair again sooner, as the Loreal Elvive shampoo is a beauty to use. Unlike many others, the cap is easy to click on and off and the packaging is sleek and sits reasonably well in the shower. The formula smells like a salon shampoo, simply fresh and expensive with a hint of berries. It lathered and spread well over my hair. My hair felt clean and fresh, but not squeaky after drying.

In terms of the repairing claim, I'm still unsure as to how I feel. There really is only so much a shampoo can do when it only spends a few moments on the hair. But it certainly didn't dry it out. Because the shampoo is so affordable, it would be pretty easy to sneak the treatment into the trolley alongside it.

After using the Loreal Elvive shampoo for a few weeks my hair is healthy, happy and oil free. I will repurchase this, or another Loreal Elvive shampoo in the future.

My hair is what could be described as straw! I don't know what has happened over the last few years but its terrible!! The top layer is so dry that it gets knotted it all the time, so I was very excited to try this product in the hope of bringing some moisture into my hair. The product is a great price and lovely to apply to my hair. I have been using it for nearly 3 weeks now. It lathers up nicely and has a pleasant fragrance. I have been using this in conjunction with the conditioner. But after I get out of the shower my hair is still knotty and very dry - unfortunately I was thinking this product might save the day, but Im wondering if there is little hope left for my hair. I'm sure it will be great for people with hair maybe not so damaged as mine.

I have long wavy hair that is coloured. When I used the repairing shampoo partnered with the conditioner my hair felt great and revitalised. When I used the product frequently - like I do with other products - I started noticing dandruff. So, I decided to use the products once a week, usually on a Sunday and it brought my hair back to life without dandruff. The produce has a really nice smell that lasts all day.

My hair felt quite smooth after using this as I regularly dye my hair and it's thin so it gets damaged easily. I didn't think it made my hair feel fuller but it defs made it less tangled! I like the scent and it was also easy to use :) I'l probably use this again because its not expensive at all

This shampoo has a nice smell and the bottle size is great - fits in the shower nicely and lasts a long time especially when using on long hair. After two weeks of use my hair did feel healthier and silkier to touch which was great as I have blonde highlights which can be damaging. I didn't find that my hair looked fuller though. Overall it's a nice shampoo and I think it's priced well.
