Not for me.

This dye has a brilliant idea with the no ammonia and the oils but I found it completely useless for my hair type. First of all, application was like putting super-glue through my hair which I found made it VERY difficult to use and made my hair feel like hay. The bottle is a very awkward shape which makes it hard to keep in my hand whilst dying. After managing to get it through my hair and washed it, my hair did feel soft. The only other problem with this dye is that to colour did NOT stay in my hair much at all. At first the colour looked lovely and shiny but that was gone by about the 5th time I washed my hair.. I was very disappointed in Garnier as their products are usually lovely.

Tips: I used the 'Deep Red'. I have very curly long hair. Using colour-safe shampoo and Conditioner did not help in the slightest.

Poor Condition

I purchased this whilst off work on maternity leave. As a hairdresser home colouring is a no no but I was desperate!

I've used a couple of box dyes as I believe it's good to try out & see what your clients are using at home. This one looked good as it's ammonia free & the magazine reviews sounded good! Choosing the fiery red, I headed home to get glam. I followed the instructions, only doing a retouch.

It was hard to apply, although no itchy scalp like some other brands.

Result was poor though, the colour was dull compared to my untouched & faded ends! It didn't cover 100% & I'm naturally very light & take colour easily. My hair felt rough, tangled easily & the colour faded within a few washes.

I also found I had to do treatments more often to get condition back (actually had a review product at the time which was excellent timing!)

Tips: I'd recommend using on natural hair & maybe shorter lengths. For anything more then a retouch on thick hair you'd need 2-3 bottles to get good coverage

Had hardly any affect on my hair

When matching up my hair to the samples on the back of the packet it showed that this dye would brighten my hair making it appear a shade lighter than it was. However I found that all it really did was add yellowy tones to my hair! As my hair is a medium brown, that is definitely not what I was after. I wouldn't use this again, however I will say that the conditioner it came with did make my hair feel amazingly soft.

Garnier Olia

This product is an easy product to use and with no ammonia is much kinder on your hair. The scent is really pleasant and the colour is very true to the colour displayed on the box. With the cost under $20 I feel that this is a reasonable cost for a quality product and gives a result that is equal to a beauty salon at considerably less cost. I found the conditioner supplied is very generous and leaves my hair with a lovely gloss.

Tips: If you use the moisturiser sparingly you should have sufficient to last until your next colour as the quantity supplied is very generous.

Oh gosh yes!!!

brilliant! the limited colour range is a little annoying but when I used this to cover up the frankly mangled colour I had I was in awe! It is really nourishing and really easy to use, being an oil base I found it really easy and quick to clean up my hair line (and I was using black) which had no staining at all. the conditioner lasted me weeks!!!! and the colour came out and stayed for a really long time!

Not bad

This product Was ok, packaging wise it's up to the garnia standard bright and noticeable but the actual product faded really fast and didn't give a very vibrant red as some other products do, but in saying that it made my hair soft, smooth and silky and the fact that it didn't smell as bad was a good thing which really surprised me. All in all I don't think this is a bad product it's definitely not!! But maybe not for me

Garnier olia

I do not reccomend this product if you have little or a lot of grey hair, it is not the coverage it says it is, really disappointed. I love the fact there is no ammonia was nice not to have watery eyes and I did have a lot more softer hair after using it. I liked the container was easy to use and it was great to be able to reuse it. Gloves were excellent, they are a lot more durable than others. Color came out great apart from greys

Tips: Not best for people with little or a lot of grey hair

..Intense Red? Where's the "intensity"?

I bought two boxes of the stuff, in "Intense Red" to dye my boob length, virgin (save for the last two inches), medium brown hair. I didn't want to pre-lighten my hair so I was very drawn to this colour - it was exactly what I was looking for!

I ended up only needing one box and took my time applying it, by the time I was done I could tell I wasn't going to get the shade I wanted but sat and waited out the thirty minutes needed before I rinsed it all out.

While showering, it felt no different to other hair dyes containing ammonia, but there was no potent, over-bearing smell which was a plus in my tiny, windowless bathroom! Rinsing it out, my hair felt like straw but the conditioner it came with made my hair feel like silk.

Too impatient to let my hair dry, I grabbed my blow-drier so I could see the true colour and was left feeling very disappointed.

I wasn't left with a vibrant, deep, rich red colour as was even indicated on the supposed colour results on the box for black hair.

What I got was a slightly darker brown than what I'd originally had with what I can only describe as looking like I had put a red rinse through my hair a couple of weeks ago. The lighter/baby hairs near my hairline are slightly redder but no such luck for the rest.

I was glad I hadn't used the other box as I quickly drove to the supermarket to return it. I can't even put another red over the top of it now since my hair is darker than what it started out as.

I won't be trying this dye again or recommending it to anyone.

Good Colour results

This product worked well in my thin, shoulder length hair. The colour came out great (Black) and lasted longer than other black dyes I have tried. The best thing about this product is the fact that it has natural oils added to it and no ammonia. This made it smell nice and didnt leave me with a headache. The bottle was a little weird but the gloves were brilliant!

Vibrant colour, soft hair

I was really happy with the result when I used this product to fix some dodgy highlights I had. My hair is thin, dark brown, reasonably straight, with a tendency to drier ends and oily roots. I liked the gentle smell, and it gave me pretty, natural brown highlights, rather than the brassy blonde I walked out of the salon with!

Tips: Take care with the bottle - it can slip out of wet hands!
