Olia Brown

I used this for the first time about a week ago now, The actual name of the colour i got slips my mind though. I'm not so sure if I'll buy this again though. It was good not having that harsh smell, the bottle size was generous and it was good having a conditioner I could use multiple times (Think i got 3 uses out of mine). However the colour of my hair dye has faded really quickly, which is slightly disappointed. My hair doesn't feel any softer or different than other brands, if anything - I've noticed my hair being more greasy than normal? It was kind of a product with positives and negatives for me, but on this - the single negative of how short the colour lasted out weighed all the positives. Think it was the first and last time I'll use olia - unless it's on a really good special.

Not great

I've been dying my hair at home for years, and often like to try new dyes, especially ones that are more gentle on my hair (or so they say). And this one just didn't take to my hair at all, the dye didn't last at all, it came out super quickly and the color didn't look good. Definitely wouldn't repurchase.

Not as good as the claims

I bought the bright red in this hair dye as it showed on the box that it would turn out really bright. It wasn't really though so I was a bit disappointed. i mean, the colour looked good after, I was just really hoping for that super bright look. Probably bleaching prior would help but I didn't really want to have to do that.

This dye is a pleasure to use though, with no ammonia in it, it smells good and doesn't make your eyes water. I also felt like my hair would be stronger and healthier from using a product like this.

I probably would use this again, it might not be my first choice but if it was cheap when I needed it, then I would pick it up. I need to buy two boxes so it can work out expensive if I need to purchase two $20 boxes! I definitely prefer $10 boxes haha.

Not bad

This product Was ok, packaging wise it's up to the garnia standard bright and noticeable but the actual product faded really fast and didn't give a very vibrant red as some other products do, but in saying that it made my hair soft, smooth and silky and the fact that it didn't smell as bad was a good thing which really surprised me. All in all I don't think this is a bad product it's definitely not!! But maybe not for me

Garnier Olia

I have bought this a couple of times but there wasn't as much colour choice as other brand hair dye. I got a browny red colour one and the colour came out just a dull sort of brown where as in other brands my hair will go more reddy/purple and look a lot nicer. The applicator bottle was easy to use and I really liked the non drip formula just a shame about the quality and range of colour choice.

Garnier Olia

I used this dye when I was pregnant because somebody told me not to use the ammonia based dyes. I found it to be more pleasant to use than other dyes because it had no ammonia and didn't sting my eyes. I used the bright red colour and it showed up well in my medium brown hair and looked really cool because I had had belliage (excuse the spelling) previously so the lighter tips really picked up the colour. The only downside I had with this dye is that it faded fairly quickly (within a week or so my hair looked quite dull).

Tips: If you have long or thick hair do use two packets for good coverage to ensure the best results.

What a shame! I was actually looking at this in-store today hoping the natural version would still be equally effective as the ammonia based dyes. Glad I read these reviews first! Thanks for the review.

Garnier Olia

I bought this because it contains no ammonia, unlike many other hair dyes. It was easy to apply and did not make my scalp sting, unlike many other brands. The colour initially was true to the packet description - a dark brown that also covered my grey hair very effectively. Well at least for the first two weeks...... Unfortunately after that the colour faded giving me a rather gingery washed out look. My hair also seems very dry too. I would not use this product again. I suspect I woudl ahve better results using a temporary dye.

Tips: Make sure your hair is in very good condition before using this product.

Average

I have used this on both my own hair and my mothers, I have used a few of the blonde and light brown shades. I thought it was going to be great given everything it claims. It's an ok product but certainly not the best I have used as I found the colour faded quickly however it did have a pleasant smell compared to most and I like that it has no ammonia.

Black Hair too Stubborn

I love the brand itself, I guess its my mistake by choosing the wrong shade. my natural color is black for my hair and I bought light brown and I followed the instruction and waited for 40 mins ( since my hair is really stubborn ) when I washed it out it is stil black ( I should have bleached ) but my hair is shiny and soft thou, I gues that is quiet a bonus :) but other than the color it did nothing on me.

From disappointed... to quite pleased.

I got this because BR had a trial on it (I missed out). It made me really excited. I had ombre' hair before using this product.

I chose 3.16 Deep violet. I mixed the product as per instructions. My mum applied the product for me. Her first comment when applying the product was "wow, this smells DELISH!" there was so harsh chemical smell, it smelled lovely and fruity/flowery. I had to agree. It smells so good and different to normal hair dyes.

Once it was all applied I waited 30 minutes and went to wash it out. The conditioner is so lovely and thick and has I nice smell. It's also a generous 54ml which was awesome.

After drying my hair, I was really disappointed to see that my hair had no resemblance whatsoever to what was depicted on the box. The darker shades of my hair are now a reddish colour, with a TINY hint of violet. The lighter ends of my hair are now a light reddish brown. I'm really disappointed as my hair colour is nothing like what I expected. My mum brought herself a kit in the same shade, and after seeing how my hair turned out, she gave her kit to me, so I will try it again, and hopefully have better results.

UPDATE: I have since coloured my hair again. This time I left the colour in my hair for an hour. Once again it made my hair lovely and soft and shiny. The colour is more darker and you can definitely see a dark reddish - violet colour to it.. which is really noticeable in the sun or under light.

Tips: My tip would be to leave it in for as long as possible.

did you color your hair again with the one your mum gave you? did it turn out any better?

Only the ends of my hair were dyed/bleached. The rest is virgin hair. The colour indicated on the box showed a lovely subtle dark violet/purple but mine came out red. Even though it didn't turn out how it should have, I'm ok with the colour.

It may have been reacting to the already dyed hair. You have to remember, the colours that they show you on the box are meant to show the colour applied to virgin/one tone hair. It's like the old saying, if you dye your hair too much it'll turn green
