Phantom of the Opera anyone?

A bright shiny package arrived for me to try. Extra points for the shiny packaging and bright graphics. The instructions seemed pretty straight forward so it was all systems go last night. It was a bit goopy getting out of the sleeve and deciding which side has to go on my face was a 30 second dilemma. It did say have the blue side away but really both sides looked blueish. Okay that sorted on it went. Oh dear my eyes are too far apart and my nose is too wide! After dealing with this reality check in the harsh lighting of my bathroom mirror I carried on. Once I peeled away the blue side and binned I then proceeded to press the tissue infused mask into my face. Okay the eye slits started to adjust and sit better and my nose was covered as well. Okay my alien-like features was a slight over exaggeration and the mask sat on my face quite well once I stretched, pressed and pulled it to fit. It felt quite nice sitting on my face for the 15 minutes andi even managed to terrify the dog and child. Husband just raised his eyebrows as if what is she doing now. It was easy to peel off but there was quite a bit of excess left which I rubbed in. No way was I washing off as one of the suggestions so I left the residue on over night. My skin felt smoother and softer this monrning. No I didn't look younger but my skin looked rested. Would I use again. A great idea before an event to give my skin a boost so it can be glowing.

Tips: Was a bit messy make sure you have bin close to throw out bits as needed as it gets a bit messy and all fingers and thumbs. It will fit over your features but you have to work to get it there.

Garnier Pomegranate Review

I was sent this product from Beauty Review as part of a trial team. It comes in foil like packaging and says it has teamed up with TerraCycle to stop beauty products ending up in landfill - but im not 100% sure what TerraCycle is so I will have to look that up! The packaging is very easy to tear open and the product comes out easily.

It is folded up and has a protective film on it which you remove once the mask is put on. It has a really nice fresh smell. The mask is quite easy to contour to your face which I was glad about as I have very sensitive skin and as soon as I put the mask on, my nose started stinging. I could easily remove it from that area tho due to the slits in the mask and mold it to the rest of my face easily. It peels straight off your face with no issues and my skin felt really refreshed. On the packet it says to either wipe the excess off or rub it in. I choose to rub it in without thinking and then around my nose started to sting a little again. My skin did feel nice and smooth after removing as well. This mask has made my skin feel a lot more hydrated and I think it is reasonably priced at $4.99. I have only marked it down due to it saying it is suitable for sensitive skin which I didn't find as it made the area around my nose sting until i removed it from that area.

Tips: I think this mask would be best applied in the morning if you have time as it really wakes your skin up.

Temporary hydration boost

I love face masks. I’m not loyal to one mask I like to use different masks for different purposes.

This claims hydration and it does deliver but I find the effects are short lived. But in saying that I would do this mask again if I felt the need for a boost.

It’s got a lot of the hydrating solution on the mask and dripped a little bit for me but at least it wasn’t dry. It wasn’t that well cut around the lip and nose hole I had to keep pressing it down I felt it wasn’t quite cut enough to fit the form of my face.. but enough gets covered despite this. It’s cooling and doesn’t aggravate my sensitive skin. My skin after felt soft and plump.

I just wish the effect was longer lasting. I feel like some serums I have used pack more of a moisture punch leaving my skin feeling refreshed until morning but this wasn’t that long lasting so I might try their other garnier mask next time and see if I find the results any better.

In saying that it’s a great price, relaxing and does work at the time maybe my dry skin just sucked it all up it was that desperate for moisture.

Hydrating but only for a short time.

I have previously used the Chamomile Tissue Mask in the same range. I received a few different Garnier masks in BBBE. This one promises to help hydrate and boost your skin radiance and complexion. The mask comes in a foil type packet. It is easy to open and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Just like the Chamomile mask this was messy to apply as there was a lot of serum on the mask which made it hard to press down smoothly onto my face. It was also far too big for my face. I found the mask a bit unpleasant as the serum felt cold and slimy and I had to keep pressing it down. I definitely need to leave it on longer than the 15minutes it says on the back for all the serum to absorb into my skin. I found the mask very cooling and hydrating but it is only for a short period of time. Im not sure If i would purchase in the future as the fit and feel of the mask lets it down.

Bargain Masks.

Managed to pick up a couple of these for half price a while back and finally got round to using them yesterday evening. I found putting this on to be somewhat of a mission, as the sheet did not fit my face and would not stay put, or stick to the needed areas, so felt a lot of my face did not benefit from doing this mask. Then you have to peel off an additional blue coat, which ends up peeling off the mask as well which is annoying. It wasn't dripping in product which was nice. It felt cooling and could feel my skin tighten while using this mask, I left it on for around 15 minutes and then wiped the excess around my face - neck - chest area to really get the most out of this mask. I found my face felt very sticky as if I had an adhesive layer on, this wore off after 20 mins. It was hydrating and did a great job at softening and smoothing my skin. Think I'll stick to normal masks, but enjoyed using this from Garnier.

Silence of the Lambs?

My skin is really dry so I was quite excited to be chosen to trial this product, designed to hydrate dehydrated skin for 24 hours!

The mask comes in a nice blue pouch, it was easy to open, however there was so much product on the mask it went all over my hands was quite messy, definitely recommend using this in the bathroom and not the couch like I did!

I pressed the sheet mask onto my skin and left it for the recommended 15 minutes. It sat in place quite well and didn't slide off. It removed easily but did leave a lot of product on my skin after removal, instructions were to gently rub into the skin (far too much product to do this) or to use a cotton pad (a better idea, I just ended up using a towel).

Results - My skin did feel hydrated after but upon waking up the next morning I didn't notice any lasting results either in my skins hydration or complexion. This is the kind of product I would throw into gift packs for others, or use on a pamper evening but would probably not purchase for regular use.

Tips: You will look like you're auditioning for Silence of the Lambs ;) My friends enjoyed the snapchat!

Interesting,

I have reasonably dry skin at the moment (apparently an age thing??) But it usually isn't sensitive so I was quite interested to try this mask. First impressions it has a light pleasant fragrance, and the serum on the tissue had a nice feel to it. Putting the mask on I thought I was going to have issues with the fit until I took the blue film off, then it was easy to manipulate to the contours of my face. It was cold, but not unpleasant. I left it 15 minutes as recommended them removed it. There was a lot of serum left in my face so after trying to rub it in I removed the excess with cotton balls. As I'm not prone to sensitive skin, I was surprised to see the area around my nose was quite red. I hadn't noticed any stinging during the 15 minutes so I wondered if maybe it had reacted with the remnants of my cleanser?? The rest of my skin felt nicely hydrated. The redness went away by the next morning, and my skin still felt nice so it worked in that regard. Not sure that I would try it again, the redness took away any positives for me.

Tips: I probably wouldn't recommend it to anybody with sensitive skin, although mine might be an isolated case.

Little unsure on this mask...................

Loved the sound of this mask, Hydrabomb Tissue Mask, makes me think it would totally hydrate my dry skin. I quite liked the colour and look of the packaging.

So I pulled the sopping mask out of the packaging, was very messy and had a wee bit of trouble unfolding it. Was very sloppy and slippery and nearly dropped it on the floor haha. So once I had it unfolded I placed onto my face slowly and as per instruction.

It was a bit difficult to get it to fit properly and I found that I need to cut an extra slit in the eyeholes as I ended up getting the stuff in both my eyes! It actually didn't sting though so that's all good. It took me a while to get it sitting properly and once done I slowly peeled off the blue layer. My partner laughed at me as I did look quite silly, but I went and watched some TV for the 15 minutes and let it soak it.

I really didn't enjoy the feeling and I had to keep readjusting the mask as it kept losing it's "stick" around my chin and around the edges.

Once I removed it I gently massaged some of what was left on my face into my skin, although I did have to remove some as there was quite a lot of it. My skin did feel refreshed and hydrated though so it did what it said it would, however this morning my skin doesn't really feel much different, maybe using it on a regular basis would make a difference?

Not too sold on this product, its a bit annoying to use and takes a bit of time. It did hydrate my skin at the time but not sure about boosting radiance and evening complexion, this may happen with more use.

Tips: Be careful getting it out of the packaging, really sloppy and messy!!!

Short term fix

After seeing lots of reviews on these masks I had to get my hands on a couple during the countdown sale . Couldn’t resist a good deal at the time . I like to do masks at least once a week to give my skin an extra boost.

These masks come in clear easy to read packaging . Ganier can be found in most stores making it easily accessible. Consistency is your normal white cloth mask . Has a blue backing sheet that peels off . Scent that I can detect is floral musk .

On application it’s quite wet . Keep a dry towel handy for excess moisture . Tends to drip down my neck , gives me the shivers lol . I leave it on for 15 minutes. I always cleanse beforehand . Afterwards my skin has a short term glow .

These are good to get on sale . I can see myself purchasing more on the near future . Good for a skin boost .

Chilling But Hydrating

Purchased a couple months ago on sale at Countdown. I remember seeing this on the BR site and wanted to try it out. The packaging is very pretty to look at, has images of Pomegranate and is a soothing blue colour. Still bigger than other mask packaging I have seen.

Does have a pleasant Pomegranate scent when you open the sachet. However it very quickly disappears. Like the other Hydra Bomb mask I tried, there is a blue protective film. Doesn't aid applying the mask though now I think about it, it might be there to protect the tissue mask itself? I still think it's an unnecessary item to have.

Mask is very cool. I think this would be much more suitable during the warmer/summer weather. I just used this mask in Autumn so found it cold. I wouldn't recommend it. Alot of excess formula once the mask has been removed. Just massaged it into the face, neck and decolletege area. Face is surprisingly not sticky after the formula has dried down.

Skin looks hydrated and looks and feels smooth. It's a very pleasant mask to use and has good results. I don't use tissue masks often as I prefer clay masks for my skin type. I may consider repurchasing this at some stage in the future
