Cacharel Lou Lou is built around the beautiful and sensual scent of Tiare flower, the Tahitian symbol of welcoming and generous offer. The top notes are composed of violet, plum black currant, marigold and anis; the heart of sweet Tiare flower is accentuated with the notes of tuberose, ylang-ylang and orange blossom; all that is followed by powdery trace of orris and Tonka bean, and sensual mix of vanilla and balsam.

Assertive and undeniably seductive, this is an impish fragrance for a confident and vivacious woman.

A unique perfume that is intensely beautiful and beautifully intense to suit your inner ingénue.

LouLou

Based on the name, I thought it would be a youthful scent. However, it's quite an old-fashioned elegant scent, very powdery- to me kind of like a floral-oriental but nothing like Flowerbomb. There's no other perfume that I would compare this to but it gives off a mysterious vibe like Angel but then smells 'unexpected' like Loverdose. The bottle is unusual but easy to hold, I think this would not work as a blind-buy but if someone likes it, this would be an original scent.

Floral all day

I feel the bottle of this fragrance lets it down. I dont find ir particularly attractive and I dont think it does the gorgeous scent inside any justice. Thats where the negative comments end.

One spray of this will send you away on a majic carpet ride to an island oasis. It is floral,no denying that but I don't think it is too much. It is so feminine and fresh, you feel simply gorgeous wearing this fragrance. You will pick out some notes like violet and plum and later you will get ylang ylang and ornage blossom, such an elegant blend. As with a lot of florals you really do just need to apply once during the day,but re apply for evening wear to freshen it up.

Vanilla powder bomb

On my quest to purchase classic fragrances, Lou Lou by Cacharel was next on my list. Having read reviews on here I was really excited to own Lou Lou, I managed to get it for a relatively affordable price from my local perfume counter. LL comes in a gorgeous box, splashed with bright, floral, retro artwork, that really stands out amongst other fragrances on the shelf.

After spraying this, initially to me it smelt like baby powder or clean laundry detergent, It was quite strong with a white floral base. An earlier reviewer mentioned this fragrance smells better when not sniffed directly on the skin, which I would agree with. After an hour or so on my skin, I noticed it turned into this divine powdery vanilla scent, while still maintaining that white floral base that I am loving. Lou Lou is a powdery 80's classic, sensual while being classy. To me, it smells comforting and isn't as opinion splitting as some of the other '80s classics. Also noted that Jean Guichard, the genius behind Calvin Klein's Obsession created Lou Lou, Mr. Guichard knew what he was doing with LL. Its the perfect mix of sweetness, powder and being strong but not offensively so. Lou Lou on me has about 6 hours of longevity and sits close to my skin, so it has been reformulated since the '80s, as while longevity and sillage are decent it is not a powerhouse of a fragrance on my skin, which I don't mind. Can imagine Lou Lou becoming a mainstay in my fragrance collection.

LouLou

I have owned both EDF &EDP;.

I find the bottle attractive a matte blue with ruby red around the trimmings, in a quartz shape.

This fragrance was my favourite of all time. The Yang ylang is potent and you don't need the EDP as the EDT is strong enough. Other scents come thru such as floral tones and it is a very warming aroma. Due to it's depth in scent I find it suits the winter months and also a night fragrance, it's a sophisticated scent but playful. So it can suit an all day wear. My daughter spilt my EDP in the bedroom and you can smell around the house and outside you can get a whiff of it aswell. So this is an example of it's potency and staying power.

This to me reignite my teenage years when ever I get a whiff of it because that's when I first fell in love with it.

Tips: Spray in the air, in front of you and walk into the fragrance .

EDP dab on your pulse area such as behind the ear on your wrists and even behind the knee. Either 1 of these choices or all if you wish but you will be a walking LouLou, if you choose to put on all pulse points.

These are good ways to bring out the fragrance more.

My opinion of Lou Lou

In a compact bottle, Lou Lou is a fragrance that has been around for years. I used this product now and again in chemist, however did not purchase it myself. It is a romantic scent, lasting and very soft considering my olive skin tone. Back in the early 2000's this product was out of my price zone, nowadays it is in the range of all other priced perfumes. Cacharel is a recommended perfume designer and well know across the years for quality manufacturing.

Tips: I would recommend this product for women in their 30's and 40's as it is now in my opinion a fragrance that is competing in this market range.

Partner's Perfume

This is my partner's perfume. She wears it every day and I can't get enough of it. It's got a very soft, fruity smell. It is very sweet, almost sickly, but definitely very nice. I would definitely wear this if we were going out, but I'll save the day to day wearing of it for my partner.

Tips: Don't spray too much on, as it could get sickly sweet.

Staying Power

This was the first perfume that I purchased. It is sweet and heady and a classic. It is a floral fruity mix hitting on oriental. The scent is strong and long lasting so I would use a small amount. It's one of those fragrances that stand out with its own unique scent.

Tips: Spray a little or walk into the scent, less is more with this one.

A Classic

I think unfortunately for this perfume the bottle is pretty ugly in my opinion and when I am looking at new perfumes I am always drawn to the interesting and pretty or unusual bottles. This looks like it could be a bottle of insect repellent! I used this perfume quite a while ago. I don't know that I would go back to it. There is something quite florally and powdery. I found that it lasted quite well but quite simply I got tired of it. I think perhaps this fragrance is a slightly older fragrance. I like it on other people but for some reason it doesn't mesh well with my own skin. I may have to retry and see if things have changed more recently. Quite a classic and easy wearing fragrance for most people I think. I just don't love it.

I didn't know what the product was based on the bottle! What other perfume does it smell similar to?

Classic

I love the smell of Lou Lou . Brings back a lot of memories. The smell is very much what I was into when I was a very young teen. A lasting fragrance for me . The bottle is very cute. Also it’s the nickname of my granddaughter (Lulu-Tallulah) so I just had to get it
