Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

I bought this foundation for its reputation as a long-wearing product. I work a 10+ hour day, and I was finding that by the end of the day my foundation would often become patchy. Doublewear was my solution to this problem and I found that it kept shine and oiliness at bay which is great. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to apply it though - I've been using a stippling brush but it doesn't go on very smoothly. This foundation is also quite expensive, but I think for the staying power it's worth it.

I bought a bottle of this to use as my wedding foundation after the one the makeup artist trialled on me just slid off after an hour! My skin is pretty normal on a day-to-day basis but it goes extremely oily when I'm nervous or stressed for some reason! Your wedding day is definitely a pretty stressful occasion and I knew I needed a long-lasting foundation.

Double wear performed so well on the day, lasting from about 10a.m. to 11p.m., through light rain, tears, and lots of kisses and hugs. I did use a powder over it and touched up once or twice. I was so impressed though. I have never had a foundation last so well.

Overall, I was very impressed and would buy this again despite the fairly hefty price tag.

I love this foundation, it's my new baby!! I got matched to desert beige after the lady at the counter took one look at me, she then put some on my jawline to see if it suited and it was perfect. I got a sample of it and after trying it out for about 2 days I immediately bought it when it was on sale at Farmers (20% off) so I was super happy that I only paid about $64 for it. Desert beige matches me perfectly which I am over the moon about as I always have trouble getting the right shade (unfortunately I am not as tanned as I think I am :( ). Double wear goes on really nicely, it is not heavy like I thought it would be, it is light weight which is great as it doesn't make your face feel caked and heavy. It has great coverage which I consider to be full coverage as it is easily buildable. It has very great lasting power, at the end of the day my skin still looks pretty much flawless. The finish it offers is great, natural semi matte- doesn't make your skin look oily or too dry and it makes your skin look pretty much flawless. I would definitely repurchase though I am not too psyched about the RRP price of it... it is rather expensive but I think it is definitely worth it when you've found the perfect foundation that is just right for you!

I have really oily skin and this is the first foundation that I've ever used that keeps me matte all day. It also has really good coverage and I only need a small amount to cover my whole face, so the bottle should last for ages. However, it does tend to cling to any dry spots quite badly so I have to be careful where I put it.

tried two samples of this and absolutely loved. it's great coverage and more natural looking rather than cakey. expensive, but would love to buy! waiting for the day i have saved up enough, as i am only a poor 14 year old student :(

I had this foundation used on me on me for a girlfriends wedding, being one of the bridesmaids we had quite a full on busy day,I loved that I didn't feel like a was wearing heaps of make up, it had such a flawless finish and it stay on from 6am in the morning til the wee hours of the next day!

Needless to say i went and purchased some the following monday, I use the pale almond and I still swear by this foundation for any special event that i need my make up to last.

The price does tend to put you off abit, but then again when you find a product that really works, price has no boundaries for me although i find i tend to not wear it on just a normal day as i like the product to last for awhile.

Absolutely love this foundation, the colour match is perfect for me and doesn't have an orange tinge some some foundations do, gives me perfect coverage everytime! Its not a high shine finish which is great too!

by far the BEST foundation i have used to date. A perfect smooth, flawless coverage that lasts & lasts & lasts!!! My bottle has lasted me 4 months so far & thats wtih daily use. PERFECT!!

I had heard really good things about this foundation from friends and on here but I was skeptical, and at $80-$90 a bottle I was kind of hoping the hype was exaggerated! I went to my local Farmers and did a colour match and free application as well as go a free sample to use over the next week. I fell in love instantly. The coverage is incredible and it really does stay all day! I use a primer underneath to help but really I can put this on at 6 in the morning, work all day in a hot, sweaty environment and then go out that night with no need for another application. No matter what time I get home my skin will still look great! I live that. I bought mine off strawberrynet.co.nz for $55 and after checking it beside my sample from farmers, it really is the exact same so no worries on fakes as some people claim. Brilliant product!

My main issue it that the bottle does not have a pump or any other control device so I often end up pouring far too much :( heartbreaking with the cost of it!

Great cover and stays on. Not what I use for an everyday foundation but great for special occasions and nights out.

After using the same old foundation for years and it really not doing anything for me i decided to go in to a Estee Lauder counter and get myself a sample after seeing and hearing such rave reviews. After being colour matched and trialing out the sample i was in love! It covered all my imperfections and blemishes without using a concealer. And you guessed right i bought myself a bottle!!
