Great with Foundation

I bought this brush as I had been looking for a stipple brush and I love the E.L.F brand.

I really like this brush for applying liquid foundation. But that being said, I wear liquid foundation lightly under powder foundation. For this combination this brush works really well.

For heavier foundation or for wearing liquid foundation alone it could look slightly streaky and a beauty blender may be a better option. But if you are wearing powder over top, brushing that on with a kabuki brush or something of the sorts seems to help further blend the liquid foundation underneath.

The brush is soft and quite fine. I have not found the bristles to come out at all yet (I have owned it for almost a year). I find it washes easily and goes back into shape well.

I am totally happy with this brush and it exceeded my expectations. I would definitely purchase again.

Tips: Great for applying light liquid foundation. To avoid any noticeable streaks, use a powder foundation over top.

A must have for all Beauty Brush Collections

The ELF stipple brush was actually one of the first brushes I added my to collection, due to the recommendation from a vlogger who I adore and I have to admit it has become a favourite of mine, and a brush I use almost every day.

This Brush is a product from the Elf range. If you haven’t heard of ELF before, this brand is an extremely affordable option, with this brush costing around $3 USD, which I think is incredibly cheap for this brush. (I purchase mine off I herb for those who are interested). This brush has a simple design, and features an almost entirely black handle, which is adorned with the ELF logo in plain white text. The handle feels like it’s made of a plastic, but it feels quite strong and sturdy and I find it easy to hold and like the slight curved shape of the handle. The mid-section of the brush has a metal coating over it which continues until the actual brush bristles begin. The bristles are so soft, and sort of pouf out a little bit and feature both black and white bristles, with the black bristles being about ¾ of the length of the white ones.

This brush was recommended for the use of cream blushes, and so that is the main product I use with this brush and I just find it amazing for cream blushes. Literally every other method, tool, and brush I have tried for cream blushes is nothing compared to this. This brush easily picks up the blush, and disperses it evenly over my face so that’s amazing. I also use this brush for powder foundations, as well as blending product so find it’s a really great multi-purpose product. I really think everyone should have one of these in their collection, especially if they use cream blushes a lot, or if they are just starting a brush collection. This is a super affordable option which so far hasn’t shed a single bristle (and I have been using this for over 6months), plus it’s a great multi-purpose brush.

A stipple what?......

I remember reading this brushes name and thinking a Stipple what lol. I had never heard of a Stippling brush before but it sounded like something fun so purchased it.

When it arrived I was like this is quite an interesting brush, actually reminded me of a badger because of the black and white bristles lol.

So being a Stipple Brush virgin, I had to watch a couple of youtube videos on how to use it as I didn't find the instructions for dummies on the packet. After watching the videos, I experimented with it and thought how cool it was especially when using BB Cream. It was easy to use and easy to apply it and gave off a more flawless look. I dabbed it and it just looked so good. It lasted for quite awhile but then noticed it started to shed. Now I'm not sure if this was because I was using it all the time or because I was supposed to replace it but the whiskers kept coming off onto my skin which was irritating.

I also didn't find it very sturdy, it was quite soft especially as I had seen other brushes were usually quite firm. But other than that, I really liked it, sadly it had to retire and then I went off to the dark side and purchased a Real Techniques brush.

It really is a great brush for a beginner and a great price too.

Great performer

For a low end, cheap brush i was really impressed. I got this brush on holiday when i left my go to brushes at home. I thought it would be something that would get the bin after a couple of uses but that hasnt been the case! Its soft, has very little fall out and seems to be holding up really well.

Tips: Like any brush when washinh be cautious of water going into the handle

Elf Stipple Brush

The elf strippling brush has very soft bristles. I am not the biggest fan of this brush, i have tried it with liquid foundation and it just isnt dense enough for my liking it took me forever in a day just to apply my foundation and i had to use another brush to just buff it in to my skin more. I also have tried it with blush/highlighter and it was good for that as it didnt pick up to much product and gave me a nice soft highlight. Although it is good for a highlighting brush it's just something I dont use every day or even very often, so in my opion it was a waste of money as i had high hopes for it after hearing so much about strippling brushes! i brought mine off iherb for $4 so it was super cheap! I have had the brush around six months and i am still yet to see any shedding so its a great brush it just isnt the brush for me. I would still recommend to a friend as every one likes different brushes.

Great for blush

I use this brush for blush and I love it. It gives quite a subtle wash of colour, leaving you with the option to apply more or leave the colour minimal depending on what you're after. It blends well and gives an awesome finish using either powder or cream blushes! My holy grail blush brush.

Tips: Clean often, brushes always apply product better freshly washed :)

Less Than Impressed

I purchased the elf Stipple Brush at the end of last year when I was looking for a brush for my liquid foundation. However, I found this brush terrible for the job! Although the bristles are soft, have had zero fallout so far, and the brush itself is visually quite chic, the bristles were simply not dense enough to apply liquid foundation. I found the product was very difficult to apply and blend in, and I ended up having to use my fingers to compact the brush in order for the bristles to be tightly packed enough.

However, I found this brush worked great for powder and blusher! So would recommend for those products, and not for liquid makeup.

I've tried this with foundation and just can't get it looking nice. I much prefer a sponge or dense kabuki. I think I will have to try this brush out with blush so thanks for the tip

airbrushes my cream blush

I bought this brush off I herb over a year ago when I was first getting into using brushes for my foundation. I'd seen quite a few people on YouTube rave about how amazing this was to get a flawless finish. Being an elf product, this is super cheap -$3 us.

The brush looks nice, not cheap like the price tag and the bristles are really soft. Stipple brushes a quite unique in looks, they start off dense at the base and then for the last cm at the top there is only about half The bristles coming through. It feels spiky but in a soft way if that makes any kind of Sense!

My first time using this with foundation was a total fail. I was left with a patchy, unblended mess no matter how hard i worked with the brush to get it even. I ended up having to use my fingers to rescue my face and that led to this brush going into the bottom of my brush box, never to see light again.

That is until about a month or two ago when i saw on here that it was great with cream blushes. I have a maybelline cream blush that was being neglected so I decided to pull these two items out of my collection and see what magic I could make.

I don't know how this brush does it, but it blends the blush on my cheeks perfectly. It leaves no harsh lines, no patches, doesn't sink into my pores and just makes it look natural. It amazes me how this brush can be so awful for foundation but so outstanding for blush.

This brush washes up well, i just use baby shampoo and a silicone mat. The white bristles have a slight stain from the blush after cleaning but nothing major. I haven't had any bristle fallout either.

If you love cream blush, I would absolutely recommend this to you. If you want a foundation brush, definitely look Elsewhere! If this brush ever broke, i would repurchase it.

elf Stipple Brush

This was the first brush I used when I started using a brush to apply my liquid foundation - being cheaper than other brands I didn't feel like I was making a huge investment in a tool I may not like.

It's very easy to use and gives my makeup an airbrushed look - something the old sponge can't. I also use it for applying powder and blushes - it's extremely versatile.

My only downside to this is that I found the bristles come out all the time. However it's not enough to stop me using it!

Tips: Remember to clean your brush regularly. They are a breeding ground for bacteria which can make your skin breakout!

Amazing and affordable!

I purchased this brush off iherb.com a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. It cost only US $5 which was a steal for what it is and how long it has lasted me. Even after regular use over a couple of years it looks as good as new and hasn't lost a bristle...amazing for just a few dollars!

The brush design is super simple and plain black which I like. It is standard in size compared to the rest of my brushes and is great for applying products where less is more. Because the brushes bristles are not densely packed like an ordinary brush, but more sparse it is great for blending out product and applying smaller amounts of products. I love to use this with both powder and cream blushes as well as applying a light coverage of foundation.

This is a must have brush for me and something I will definitely repurchase if mine ever needs replacing. I have my eye of the smaller version of this too :) Would recommend this brush to all as it is great quality, versatile and fantastic value for money.

Tips: Use this to apply cream and powder blush and foundation :)
