Holy Grail

In my world of greasy eyelids there is just no comparison to primer potion! My eyelids are so greasy I simply can't get by with out it! It not only prevents my shadows from creasing it gives me a great base to work with. I usually use original (and I couldn't tell you how many tubes I've been through) but it is worth every cent. For me nothing even comes close to matching the quality of this product. And it makes even the cheapest bad quality eye shadows work like a dream.

Eyeshadow doesn't budge!

In love with this! I have used other primers or bases and this is awesome. Applies really smoothly, you don't need much! and sets really quick. It's stinking hot and I'm 33 weeks pregnant, so I'm a hot, sweaty mess but this stuff keeps my eyes looking on point.

I use it on the lower lash line as well to help stop my mascara from transferring and it's working so far and stops me from getting panda eyes.

Tips: Don't use too much! A little goes a long way. Apply it to the lower lash line too!

Doesn't quite live up to the job.

Like everyone else, I had heard rave reviews about this. It seemed everyone on the internet couldn't stop saying how incredible this is. I decided to get it just to see what the hype was about.

I have the original primer potion. The packaging is really pretty - it's a soft lilac colour with a silver screw off lid which reminds me of a genie bottle. The tube is a squeezy tube and doesn't come with an applicator (I use my fingers).

The texture of this is really thick and creamy. It's so thick that I find it a little difficult to squeeze out. However, once it is out you only need a really small amount to cover both eyelids.

It doesn't feel heavy on your lids and it applies completely transparent. It does make your eyeshadow appear more pigmented and it does help prevent creasing - although after around 9-10 hours of wear I did notice my shadow started to crease.

Overall if I were going to recommend a more 'high end' primer - I would personally go for Too Faced's eyelid primer. I feel that is more tacky and holds your eyeshadow better. This definitely does the job but because of the price I wouldn't repurchase this again.

- Also, a tube lasts you a loooooong time. I have had mine for almost a year and I still have a lot left.

My Holy Grail primer

I first tried this primer over a year ago. A friend sent me what was left of hers and there were a few applications left in the tube. I enjoyed using it but then started using an elf primer once it had finished and I thought that was a really good dupe. Anyway, this summer has been so hot and the elf just wasn't cutting it anymore. My lids seemed to be getting really oily in the heat and my eyeshadow that I was so carefully applying in the morning was creasing on me by lunchtime.

I bought a smoked palette and this tube came with it. I will never, again use another type of eye primer. Even on the hottest days, my eyeshadow stays put!

I have the original shade, it's a skin coloured formula that sort of dries invisible-well I can't see it on my lids and I'm reasonably pale. You only need the tiniest amount for both lids so even though it is kind of expensive, it will last a long time. The tube is really easy to squeeze product out and the opening is really small so as long as you don't squeeze super hard, you will get the right amount. The packaging is pretty cool too with a nice purple tube and cute silver lid. I put some on and then let it dry a bit while I do my brows, so maybe 3 minutes or so. I don't notice if eyeshadows are more vibrant with this then compared to other primers but it so lasts the distance. I get no creasing until I wash it off at night.

This is quite a hyped up product but believe me, it does live up to that hype.I'm more of a drugstore/dupe person so if another primer was working for me and was cheaper than I would use that instead, which is why I was using the elf up till now.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer

I was very grateful when a lovey BR beauty gave me one of these as I love trying out new products.

They come in a small tube with an elegant looking lid and writing.

I have the purple (anti aging) primer. The consistency is thin but not too runny and a shade of medium brown. I personally feel that there is no scent.

To use I simply dab a very small amount onto my eyelids and gently rub across and let dry which is a matter of seconds, then I apply my eyeshadows like normal.

I have found that my eyeshadow last all day long and into the evening which is great but I also personally feel like there is no huge difference between this primer and one of my cheaper primers as they both do the same job in keeping my eyeshadow in place.

I would recommend this primer but I won't be purchasing it for the reason above, my cheaper primer does the same trick ;-) but I have nothing negative to say about this product though.

Great For oily Lids

I have ridiculously oily skin and often struggle with keeping my eyeshadow in place. I originally got this as a sample with my Naked2 pallet and liked it so much I bought a full size tube! It has quite a thick consistancy and a little goes a long way - if you use too much it does tend to stand out and can look a little patchy. The packaging is really cute, it lasts forever, its really good value for money - and best of all... It actually works!!

Great!

I wouldn't normally purchase an eyeshadow primer as I just use my MAC prolongwear concealer as an eye primer but when this came free with my NAKED palette I obviouly had to try it out.

It is such a great product and I think that it definitely helps with making your eye shadow last throughout the day without creasing or smudging.

It is a really smooth formula and very easy to apply onto your lids

My favourite eyeshadow primer

I have tried the original, Eden and greed in these primers and I love them. The original is my favourite, and I cannot see myself ever not repurchasing it. I use it everyday and find that a tiny amount goes a long long way. It helps my eyeshadows perform much better as not on,y do they not crease, but they also apply more opaque.

My magic potion!

It's ridiculous how you can go for so long blissfully unaware of a product, then buy it, and within weeks be unable to live without it.... this is one of those products.

It hit my radar after reading the lovely k3r1pakai's review, and when I was in mecca Maxima last month and found myself at the Urban Decay counter, I had to have one. After a quick chat with the shop assistant, I decided to opt for Eden, which is a bit of a multi-use product, hiding redness, mattifying lids and drying to a nude matte that it perfectly wearable with or without shadow over the top.

This Urban Decay Primer Potions comes in a funky little tube, with a pointed, jewel faceted cap housing the applicator, which is a long sponge tip that resembles a lipgloss applicator. I *never* use this for application though - either I use it to apply a little to a clean fingertip and use that, or I use a concealer brush.

This potion creates the perfect surface for eye makeup by taking out the 'unique' colours of my own eyelids, and drying up any oil etc that may affect application. Shadow goes where it should, looks brighter, and stays on longer by far. It really is magical!

What's more, you use so little that the 10 ml tube seems like it will last way longer than the 6 months they suggest that you use it inside of.

Removal is easy enough, with your usual eye make up remover of choice - you might just need a little more to shift it all off your eyes :)

Tips: Explore the 4 varieties to find which one is best for you! (They're all pretty amazing though, so you can't really go wrong!)

Amazing!

I’ve been through a lot of eye shadow primers but this one is definitely the best by far!

I put it on under my eyeshadow around 10am and it lasted all day and night including a night out and I fell asleep with my makeup on (oops) but it still looked decent in the morning!

Tips: Blend with your finger rather than the applicator
