Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation Review

After years of trialing (and failing) with Maybelline products, they've hit the nail with this one.

It really should be marketed as a 2-1 - I don't use primer with it at all! and found when I did the only thing that would work nicely with it is Maybellines Baby Skin. But it's easier for me to do the no primer option and it lasts ALL DAY.

It's quite light weight but I find I am getting an almost full coverage from it, and it doesn't seem to wear off or come off, when I rub my face during the day.

It glides on best with a flat top brush and it doesn't seem to cake under my eyes which I have a huge issue with. I also have dry skin and it sits on it well

I don't have to use a lot and it comes with a pump so it makes it easier to not overuse the product as it pumps out just enough.

I brought this foundation after finding out about it on BR and reading the positive reviews. This is now my new staple everyday foundation not only does it have amazing coverage it really is long lasting ( it is even still on my face after all day at work and a gym workout).

I use a brush to apply this foundation to my face but as it is quite thick to avoid the streaky look I finish it off with my finger tips.

I have found I don't need concealer either. Really hoping the better skin in 3 weeks is true as well

I won this product on the maybelline Facebook page and omg I'm so happy that I did. I now use this foundation every day, it goes on like a liquid and drys quite like a matte. I use a brush to apply first then go over with a sponge to smooth the lines, as the foundation is quite thick it can leave lines with just a brush. The coverage is so amazing and it lasts all day long. The colour fits my skin tone perfectly. Love the shape of the bottle, the squirt top males it a lot easier to get the foundation out. I could rant about this product all day I just love it and would highly recommend it for a full coverage foundation. I can't wait to wear it over the summer for the all day coverage.

Let me start off by saying that before trying this, I hadn't worn foundation for years. I saw all the publicity and great reviews on BR about it, and decided to give it a go. I got it at a great price at Countdown, $22.00, even better! Firstly, the packaging is an attractive blue and glass bottle with a handy pump applicator which I found really easy to use.I have mature dry skin around my eyes and on my cheeks with an oily T zone down the middle. I moisturised well first, and used a primer because of reading some reviews which said it doesn't suit dry skin and can cause dry patches. The texture is quite creamy, you only need a little. I was expecting a more dewey finish but it was more of a matte appearance on my skin. The coverage is really good, it covered skin imperfections and small blemishes. It has a pleasant smell. I don't know about the better skin part, maybe if I use it longer I will notice a difference in my skin quality.

I usually use a powder foundayion as my skin can get very oily, so going back to a liquid foundation was different. During the day my skin felt oily and felt like I had makeup on and heavy on my skin. I chose the colour ivory so I could put bronzer on the top. It was a nice colour and looked ok in the morning but I dont think it gave a flawless finish. By the end of the day it looked like I had no foundation on and you could see my freckles. I think this foundation would be great for someone with clear complexion and a non oily complexion.

I was excited to see this new range and given that my skin has been breaking out recently, I would try anything. I apply all my foundation with brushes. I found it didnt apply as well as I would have thought. So I tried a sponge hmmm not much of a difference. I didnt find the coverage to be overly great. As I continued to layer, it felt heavy.

I have stopped using it therefore cannot say whether it gives you better skin or not.

I was thrilled when the my parcel arrived, and must confess to being a little sceptical as the foundation I wear is my one little luxury and costs me $85.00 a bottle. The Maybelline bottle arrived and the packaging is very sturdy in a glass bottle with a strong blue plastic pump-action top and light plastic cover. The packaging is attractive and the size convenient. The pump is set to squeeze out exactly the right amount. The foundation is easy to apply with excellent coverage and leaves a light matte finish. (I use a few drops of Trilogy rosehip oil in mixed in with my moisturiser and it did not affect eiher the application or the staying power at all). The colour is perfectly suited to my skin tone. The finish lasted a full day without a thought of reapplying. I am sold on the Superstay Foundation. I have no idea if it actually hydrates the skin but it certainly appears to be an improvement! I received this a BR trial and I love it! I received it in the shade Golden, and for my NC42 skin tone it initially goes on a shade or 2 lighter, but I found that within an hour of application it oxidises to the perfect shade.

I surprising like the packaging, but the glass bottle is quite heavy for travelling. But the pump is great and gets the perfect amount of product - a little goes a long way.

I found the consistency of the foundation quite thick, but it applied smoothly and my skin didn't feel like I had any makeup on! I did find it took a while to buff into my skin with a brush - it was a bit streaky, so I may have to try using a sponge. I love the matte finish of the product too. I like to use a misting spray/ fix + to make it look more dewy for the warmer days.

The product has good coverage - medium, most imperfections were covered. I have been wearing this product for 14-15 hour days and found that it only faded around on nose.

I've only been using it for a week so far so I can't speak for it's improving skin feature. This product is well-worth the money and I think I will buy the shade up for summer!

I was super excited when I received this as BR trial! I'd seen it advertised everywhere and was keen to give it a go... and it did not disappoint!

The first thing I noticed was how sleek and sturdy the bottle is. It's really nice. The foundation comes out in a pump, and not too much at a time- in fact, one pump is enough to cover my face! This is great because I know it will last me quite a while! The first time I applied it I was immediately struck with how lightweight it felt. It's truly lovely, not too heavy, but still gave me complete coverage! The shade I use is Nude (021), and I was impressed with how well it matched my skin tone. As someone who has struggled finding a foundation that actually matches my skin, I was stoked, and it even covered all my redness quite easily! I found myself not having to use as much concealer, as any small spots or red patches were already covered- it's great! I was also seriously impressed with how well it lasted throughout the day- I was able to wear it on a (hot!) day, all through uni and then work, and it STILL stayed on!

But the biggest question is: did it give me 'Better Skin'? Well I've only worn it for a week, but my skin does already seem to be better hydrated and generally healthier looking. A few spots have still managed to pop up, but I have worn it on a very stressy/bad eating week, and normally my skin would be a lot worse!

So overall, I would highly recommend this product! It's great for everyday wear, not too expensive, and pretty much does what it says! My only negative is that it doesn't come in more shades for our lovely ladies of colour!

I purchased this recently after seeing it advertised on the BR page recently so decided to give a go. I only buy foundations with SPF included so at SPF 20 this sounded perfect. I didn't notice any difference to the condition to my skin and this is a lot thicker than I am use to but I am so glad to finally have a foundation that lasts the day. Overall a great long lasting foundation
