The. Best!

Argh I cannot even begin to think how to get past my excitement of this foundation to write this review. I LOVE it almost obsessed with it.

So after reading some glowing reviews for this foundation I couldn't wait to track some down and try it for myself. The lovely lass at farmers matched me to colour golden Amber number 11.

The compact is rather cute baby pink with a metallic pink lid and it clicks shut... TIGHT. No chance of leakage with this bad boy!

Inside there is a big Ol mirror perfect for touch ups during the day. Then there is the applicator sponge, the lass at farmers told me to biff it as soon as I got home and said to use a brush or beauty blender.

The foundation cushion is covered in foundation and you only very lightly need to press your beauty blender into the cushion to pick up enough foundation. I gently bounce it all over my face and goodness me yes it is light coverage but my skin looks flawless I have dry skin so heavier foundations look cakey, I also need a foundation with a dewy finish and it certainly leaves a gorgeous dewy finish leaving me looking healthy and glowing.

I can get a full day of wear out of it and it never looks dull or patchy. I haven't noticed any foundation marks on my clothes either.

I absolutely love this foundation it really does tick all the boxes. I have been using this for almost a week and love it as much as when I first brought it. The only thing I don't really like is where on earth you find the colour number/name once you take off the plastic seal? I can't see it anywhere on the compact thank goodness I took a photo for the photo wall and I can clearly see 11. I am hopeless at remembering what colour foundations I am with different brands but that is the only slight "glitch" there is otherwise I adore this and will repurchase.

Let's call a sponge a sponge...

Ok, first off - cushion? It's a sponge. A sponge soaked in foundation.

So what did I think of this sponge foundation? In short, I LOVE IT!

It's a light coverage, but buildable to medium. With the extensive choice of 6 shades, I went for beige and it works really well, probably due to the fact it isn't a full coverage foundation.

I found it easy to apply, I didn't mind the applicator at all, but then I usually use my fingers anyway, so that could be the heathen in me!

Price wise, well, for an every day foundation this would probably work out as expensive as your high-end products, but as I'm going to use it a few days a week max, I think it's great.

Tips: Watch the YouTube video on how to apply!

Moisturise well beforehand!

Surprised!

I wasn't convinced by this - would a 'cushion' foundation really do anything a normal liquid foundation couldn't?

Well...yeah, actually, it can!

It's a runny liquid foundation - I was concerned it would have little to no coverage and would be difficult to apply - but it's actually really nice to work with. So using the 'tap, tap, glide' motion you end up with the perfect amount of foundation to work with. I usually wear a full coverage foundation (Nars) so yes, I found the coverage a little less than I liked, but you can definitely build it up, and if you use a primer, it's even more of a dream to apply.

It's a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it, I'll definitely be repurchasing. I think you use less because it's so runny.

Oh - and the packaging? Too cute!

Tips: One word. Primer!

Well who knew?

I'm not a foundation loyalist...i'd quite happily move from different brand to different brand..but NOT anymore! This was kind of a weird concept for me a foundation in a sponge! What the? How the? and all of those important questions....But the bottom line is... I lOVE IT!

I was a bit nervous choosing the colour from the swatch, but it matched my skin tone perfectly. I'm not a heavy "cakey" foundation girl, and this suited me perfectly and blended in evening out my skintone. I loved the idea of the sponge and it's perfect for travelling. A big delicious 5/5 for me! Couldn't recommend it more highly.

Tips: Buy one...NOW!

Nice light foundation

Was approached by a young girl in Farmers to try and I normally say no, but for some reason decided to try it. Like the product, the colour and the light feel of it on my face. Was on special so even better. Would definitely purchase again

Tips: Was told to make sure we close it up properly after use, assume so it doesn't dry out

Perfect for on-the-go

Best light to buildable medium coverage foundation I found. The product didn't sink into my smile lines as bad as other foundations I have used in the past. I am normal skin with dry patches occasionally. Would recommend to any girl on the go.

Only downside it that you do get less product than a normal 30ml foundation but for ease on-the-go, its a pretty good compromise. I would have bought many back-ups if I knew it wasn't readily available to obtain in NZ anymore.

Tips: Flip the sponge with tweezers if you find any cushion foundation appears to be drying up.

Please bring this back!!

This was the most handy foundation I have ever had. Great coverage also. So easy to use, no mess and take it wherever you go. I was so gutted when I went to buy more and was told it was discontinued:( so what did I do? I purchased a bottle of MAC foundation with a syringe dropper ( much more expensive!!) and kept the loreal container and simply refilled it. Works great but I would still rather be able to buy the loreal one, worked just as well as the MAC and less than half the price!

Tips: Refil the container with foundation of your choice. Much easier to use than brush.

Adorable Magique!

I am very impressed with the L’Oréal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation! After never trying a cushion foundation before, and having skin which barely any foundations look good on, I was very skeptical as to whether this product would work for me or not. Well, after wearing it for a few days solid now I can cheerfully confirm that this is a fab foundation!

My skin is extremely pale, somewhat sensitive, and prone to breakouts. I usually struggle with finding foundations which aren't too dark, cover all redness well, and retain a relatively matte look throughout the day. This product ticked all those boxes for me.

To begin with, the packaging is absolutely. Adorable. You can't really tell from the image here, but it comes in the cutest little pale pink and rose gold-esque compact, which in itself would make me want to purchase this product again. It contains a sponge-like applicator, as well as the sponge product itself which contains the foundation. The perfect amount of product comes out every time, which I love - it makes layering super easy, and also avoids creating that super heavy look.

The colour is pretty good. I have 01 Porcelain, and it's a 90% match for my skin tone. I did need to add The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops in order to lighten this up a smidgen, but other than that the colour was great.

This foundation is VERY buildable - I can't stress that enough! It initially applies as a very thin, almost BB-cream like product, but you can rapidly build it up for a full coverage look. While it is described as dewy this foundation wasn't over-the-top shiny or oily looking, which I was super appreciative of. I never really go for dewy foundations, but with a quick dust of powder across the T-zone this foundation becomes matte.

Lasts well throughout the day, although generally need to reapply around the 5-6 hour mark. Overall, extremely impressed!

Tips: To apply this foundation I used the sponge once, but actually have been finding it much easier to simply press my regular foundation brushes into it instead.

Great foundation!

I was so excited to be picked to review this as I am always on the look out for a new foundation, i haven't yet found one i would use everyday, but the Nude Magique Cushion Foundation is definitely one that i would. Firstly i loved the packaging, its very pretty with its pink design and easy to take with me everywhere i go. The applicator puff is in a compartment above the foundation and has a good size mirror under the lid when you open it up for great on the go use. I've never used a cushion foundation before but i found it nice and easy to use. You just dab the applicator puff onto the cushion which has the foundation in it and you are ready to apply. I was also lucky to get the perfect colour as there wasn't many different shades in this foundation so not everyone will be lucky enough to use this product. I love how the coverage is buildable as some days i just want a light coverage but as i apply more it still felt great on my skin, not greasy at all, just a nice glow. Sometimes after wearing foundation my skin can breakout but after taking this foundation off in the evening i found my skin to be good. I was very happy to receive it and will definitely be buying it!

Lovely lightweight foundation

I have been using this foundation for a few days now, thanks to BR. I had never heard of cushion beauty products prior to seeing this foundation, but now I seem to see them everywhere. I would definitely say that these types of products are going to be a big thing in 2016!

To start, the packaging is really lovely. It comes in a metallic lilac case with a mirror and a thin round puff applicator. It doesn’t weigh much so it would be good for travelling with. If you had to pack really lightly this product means you wouldn’t need to individually pack a mirror, applicator, and foundation.

On the first day that I tried this foundation, I decided to use the puff applicator that it comes with to apply the product to my whole face and neck. It took me much longer to do my foundation than it normally would because the applicator isn’t easy to hold on to. It has a ribbon that you’re meant to slip your fingers under but I couldn’t decide whether it was better to use one finger or two fingers. The applicator also made it difficult to apply around the sides of my nose. With all that being said it still gave me a lovely, flawless-looking finish and the applicator would be good to use when you need a quick touch-up.

Since that first day I have only applied this foundation with a beauty blender and I have found that it works so much better that way. The foundation itself felt very lightweight on my skin, and it is not heavy at all. It can be light to medium coverage depending on how much you build it up. If you have anything on your face that you like to completely cover up, then it pays to use a concealer as well. It made my skin look glowy and dewy. It doesn’t seem to have a fragrance which will be good for people with sensitive skin. Sometimes after a few hours of wear, my nose would start to get a bit oily but this was easily fixed with a bit of powder.

I should mention that the shade I received was 01 Porcelain, which is the lightest shade that L’Oreal offers in this product. I found that it was a wee bit darker than my skin tone but when I blended it down to my neck it looked really nice. I think that there will be some people out there with very light skin tones that won’t be able to wear this foundation. Definitely trial it in store first as it currently only comes in six shades. L’Oreal could definitely make an even lighter shade.

Overall I have really enjoyed this foundation and I find it hard to fault it on anything. The only thing that I would say is an issue is that you only get 12ml of product, which isn’t much when you’re paying over $30. For the same price you can usually get foundation bottles that have 30 to 50ml of product. I do wonder how long it will take before the cushion dries up.

If you prefer foundations that are good value for money and will last you a long time, then you might want to buy something else. However if you are looking for a lightweight foundation that is easily portable, then this is the product for you.
