So disappointing!!

I was so excited for this product! Anything with dewy or glow in the title I snatch up because my skin is like the Sahara. Unfortunately this looked terrible on my skin, I use thick foundations quite often but this was CAKEY and after applying it I had to immediately take it off. It emphasized my dry patches (some I didnt even know I had) and made my pores and fine lines look huge. I'm so sad about this because it was such a highly hyped product and looks beautiful on some people's skin but it did not work on mine!!

Tips: Try before you buy!! Everybodies skin is different and everyone has different taste!!

Not for me

I was lucky enough to score this from the Rewards Vault recently and was eager to try it as I'd heard its a good dupe for my beloved yet pricey NARS Sheer Glow.

Unfortunately for me I could not get this foundation to agree with me - I tried several different primers (Hour Glass, Porefessional and a NARS one), I went without primer, I set with my Urban Decay setting spray and set with my Australis setting powder. This foundation hates me.

I have oily skin particularly through my t-zone and every which way I tried to get it to sit on my skin it would separate within 2-3 hours particularly across my nose and chin.

This foundation is quite runny (like Sheer Glow) and it has a medium/light coverage which I wasn't able to build to a more dense medium coverage whether using a brush, fingers or sponge. It looked OK once I'd set it for an hour or so but after 2-3 hours it looked awful and after trying it for a good 10 days I've had to admit defeat.

Not what I expected

On first using the foundation it felt quite thin as i usually apply with a wet sponge. This seemed to spread it unevenly and I had to apply more product so I tried again with a dry sponge. The product went on easily and my skin felt soft, however by the afternoon it felt quite itchy. put this down to the heat and humidity and din't think any more of it. Day two and I applied after my usual moisturiser again and by the afternoon my skin felt lumpy, on removing it at night I noticed i had red raised spots only on my face. I tried again the next day without moisturiser and with a fresh sponge and my skin felt sore and itchy after an hour so i removed it. Obviously the product was not compatible with my skin, this doesn't mean however that others will necessarily have a reaction to it. Although I can be sensitive to some products I have never had a reaction to foundation before so I was surprised and didn't have a rash anywhere else on my body. To be honest I wasn't that keen on the consistency anyway as it seemed too thin. Sorry L'Oreal I'm not a fan

Tips: Carry out a skin test for a few days prior to wearing all over your face to make sure the products doesn't react to your skin. Avoid using a very damp sponge to apply as you won't get any coverage.

Not a keeper

The title says it all really. I trialled L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation for a week now. It certainly is lightweight in that it is very runny and I really wondered how long a tube would last. Not a good sign, as this foundation is well over my normal budget. I found that my skin dried out when using this foundation. Considering the product claims to hydrate and is for normal to dry skin, I couldn't work out why this could be. Maybe it wasn't a thick enough coverage? Tick that it has a spf component. But I will not purchasing.

Tips: See if you can it on sale price

Wow I had such incredibly different results! That's why I love reading these reviews, because it shows when a product is really hit-and-miss, versus when everyone loves or hates it.

L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation

The sales pitch really oversells this product, long wear, hydrating glow, never dull or greasy, these are big calls and unfortunately it doesn't live up to the hype. When it arrived I was underwhelmed, for a product that retails for around $40 it looks pretty cheap. I was willing to forgive that if it lived up to what it claims to do. Opening the tube, it doesn't smell great - yay it has sunscreen in it, but its not a great scent which seems to linger with wear. I try it, the thin liquid goes a long way, and the coverage is pretty good, but I don't look particularly radiant, definitely a little greasy. I add a little powder over the top and head out. I get home after work, my cheeks and chin (my problem areas) are a little blotchy but its been a hot day, over the rest of the week I do the same, and much the same result. I definitely couldn't head out from work without reapplying which is a shame because it claims to be 24hr wear, I could forgive a quick touch up but basically a full reapply falls well short of 24hr wear! I wish this had been the miracle foundation I had been searching for, but my search will continue for now.

Tips: Better as a concealer? It has a light enough feel and good coverage that it was great at hiding my red spots and dark under eye area, I'd consider using this product again but not as a stand alone foundation.

Loreal Infallible Pro-Glow...unfortunately Pro-No

This foundation is targeted towards Normal to Dry skin, which is right up my alley. While I didn't get long to try this out (due to a shipping delay), my first impressions so far is that the foundation has good intentions but unfortunately doesn't follow through. I found that the foundation accentuated my pores and the finish is quite powdery. However I would say the coverage is pretty good if you're looking for something light/medium. The staying power is excellent. I also would give props to it for including sunscreen, so important during our Kiwi summers! Ultimately it was an ok foundation, I won't be running to the stores to purchase however if you're looking for something decent then give this a try at least.

Tips: I preferred using my fingers with this one, the foundation dries quickly.

Not for me (or my mum!)

I thought my skin was ready for a hydrating foundation but this just looked shiny and greasy on me. I gave it to my mum to try to see how it performed on drier skin than mine but she hated how it made her wrinkles look.

The consistency is very runny even after the recommended shaking but it means a little bit goes a long way.

It smells like sunscreen but that fades very quickly.

I thought the medium coverage was good but I don't think the 24 hour wear claim stands up as I noticed some wearing off after 8 hours.

So unless you have very dry skin or like looking really dewy I would steer clear.

Tips: Store upside down so excess product doesn't come pouring out when you squeeze it.

An Average Foundation

I trialed the Infallible Pro-glow foundation for 5 days. It was a bit tricky to review as the shade of foundation I received was not the best option for my skin/colouring ( it was a bit light for my skin tone so I looked a bit ghost-like)). It glides on well and I love that it has sunscreen SPF15. I found it to be a light coverage so on the areas of my face prone to a bit of redness this foundation wasn't really enough. The claim that it glows was hard to see. There didn't appear to be any reflective qualities unlike other primers I have used. That said it was light and definitely not a heavy or matte finish. I found I had to reapply to my nose as the coverage was a bit light to last the whole day but other areas held the product well. I made a visit to Farmers to check out other shades of the foundation. The darker shade was a much better match for my skin tone so some of the issues I raise may be eliminated with the correct shade. It certainly didn't dry out my skin and it was easy to remove. Overall an OK foundation but probably not enough coverage for me to purchase it again.

Tips: Make sure you get the right shade

Glow up? Or down?

Love the slim packaging but find that the foundation is a bit watery.

Gave light coverage for me and my skin looked blotchy and flaky, I was like a monet....Flawless far away, but up close a whole different story haha. The foundation had just sunken into my pores, and revealed a not so glam look.

The foundation does give a slight dewy finish which I liked, nothing too o.t.t, definitely layerable aswell.

Might give it another go through the colder months when my skin is abit more normal-dry skin, right now its combination.

Don't hate it. Don't love it x

Light but unforgiving texture

This is a liquidy foundation - the texture reminds me a bit of MAC Face and Body - but it's nowhere near as versatile. The thin-ness made it a little difficult to apply with a brush and I'd recommend patting it in with a sponge instead. The brand recommends fingers but I find that messy and potentially unhygienic, plus tools generally give a better finish. While the product says "pro glow" and is targeted towards normal to dry skin, the texture and finish was a bit unforgiving. It looks nice and natural on the skin where it's smooth and hydrated already, but clings visibly to areas of texture and clogged pores rather than smoothing out around them. It's also a bit thin for my oilier areas - definitely a product best suited to people who already have a fairly normal, clear skin. Lasting power was fine, I haven't tested it any longer than a normal day but I didn't notice any visible fading or wearing away, apart from where I was a bit oilier. I really like the packaging because anything in a soft plastic, squeezy tube makes heaps of sense to me. Practical, unbreakable, and easy to get every last drop out of it. I'm not fussed about the SPF content. I'd almost rather foundations didn't have SPF in because the SPF 15 in this isn't going to give anyone enough sun protection, so it kind of gives you false comfort. The most disappointing thing about this foundation is the lack of shades available in stores here. Shade range has been a huge hot topic in the beauty community recently and L'Oreal have the budget and the reach to be a bit more inclusive.
